Lunch #4 beef taco, cheese enchilada, rice & beans.

So delicious. Amazing speedy service from Savannah. House Margarita on rocks was superb! Salsa was flavorful but no cilantro which I missed but understood why as some people don't care for it.

House special margarita & our handsome service guide dog.

Drinks and appys were delish! Shared a brisket quesadilla and it was fantastic. Enough for three people! The specialty frozen margarita was a hit. Don't remember the name but made with tequila & red sangria. So good. The place was pretty, busy and loved the bar area where we sat with our large service guide dog. Very roomy. Server, bartender & hostess were very sweet!

One of the only places open during the storm.

We came in during the recent storm. we were staying in a nearby hotel and it was one of the only restaurants open. When we arrived at 4 pm we were the second couple in the restaurant. Our waitress Rosa sat us in a booth/chair table but it was wobbly so we moved to the next table. We were happy that the table was in eyesight of the Texas game we could see on the TV at the bar. Rosa got our drink order and we ordered Ceviche ans a half order of nachos Locos beef. The food arrived quickly, but we did have to wait a minute or two to get our water refilled. Overall good experience, good price ($28.00 before tip) and good exerience.

Mama's Chicken Con Hongos

I dined at Mi Cocina on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 7 pm. I came with a large group of about 16 people and they were able to accommodate us after a reservation was made in advance. The restaurant was very busy, but I did not experience any issues with the service. With a large group, I was surprised with how attentive my server was with refilling waters, and taking orders. Everyone's dish came out nearly the same time. I had the Mama's Chicken con Hongos. This was a pretty big portion. The chicken was a flavorful, but a little bit dry. I enjoyed the large mushrooms that came with this dish. I also got to sample the ceviche, which tasted fresh and balanced. Overall, I had a nice experience at Mi Cocina even though it was a little tight. The service was exceptional and the food was decent.

Rico Salad

This place was OK. Nothing made it stand out as far as Mexican Food in downtown Fort Worth. The service was great and they handle our large party well but it was just meh on the food. I had ordered a Rico Salad and it was ok. The one issue I had was when they told me what salad dressings they had a jalapeño ranch, spicy something else ranch and blue cheese. I asked for blue cheese because I can't do spicy. I get the salad and my dressing and pour the dressing on my salad. The dressing was so hot. I was wondering what those green things were in the dressing and it was jalapeños. I told my server I asked for blue cheese and she said that is the blue cheese.... Spicy blue cheese.... I said you didn't tell me that before.. I can't eat jalapeños. She brought me a new one rather quickly but I would have appreciated the spicy heads up when choosing the blue cheese. The place looked nice and the ambiance was great, but I wish the dining experience was better.

The noise level was extremely high...we literally had to yell just to have a conversation with each other. Service was also very slow. It took about 15 minutes just to be acknowledged at the bar, and close to 30 minutes to actually receive a drink. When I finally ordered, I told the bartender to make her favorite drink. She made something that included raw egg whites (which I later learned is common in certain cocktails), but it wasn't mentioned or explained at the time. A few hours later, I became very sick...vomiting and dealing with what felt like severe food poisoning all night and through the next 24 hours. After looking into it, I suspect it may have been related to the raw egg used in the drink. Just something to be aware of if you're ordering drinks like a whiskey sour or anything that may include egg whites. After getting our receipt (which you need for the speakeasy entry code), we checked out the speakeasy portion, but the vibe there wasn't great either..pretty must the same as the other part of the bar. We ended up leaving within about five minutes. Overall, the experience didn't live up to the hype for us....between the noise, long wait times, and how we were treated, it just wasn't enjoyable. For comparison, the bar next door, Archibald, felt much more welcoming. Maybe regulars have a different experience, but as first-time guests, we were not impressed.

We poke our heads in (accidentally going through the exit door. the front door is well camouflaged) and just found a wonderful very chilled out bar. Haven't been to a speakeasy in a long time. It was dark lighting with ambient black lights and string lights to keep it dim but you wont struggle to see through. Music was not super loud and the chairs were incredibly comfortable and the whole place was laid out to just have drinks and lounge while talking with friends. No food, which is fine. You have plenty of options on the same block for that. This place is just for drinks and conversation. The seasonal menu was awesome. It iss a bar so they of course can make anything you request if you don't want a specialty cocktail. I got my favorite, a moscow mule but they had a brazilian mule on the specialty menu. I never had that before and ordered it on the spot. It was grapefruit vodka with lime, lots of fine pellett nugget ice (the really good kind) with ginger beer and condensed milk. My god it was great, they told me how they made it because i never saw milk added to this before. It was a delicious limeade that almost was slushy like, creamy and with tangy vodka. Plus they actually served it in a proper copper mug. Best mixed drink ive had period and a cool twist on my favorite standard moscow mule. The place is now going to become a frequent haunt for us. Its very laid back, relaxed, with fantastic ambiance. It doesn't get jammed packed and is not meant to get wild in. We went there around 7pm on a friday night with about 8 or so others already there with their drinks. It did pick up later with 15-20 people in there but still spacious and comfortable. It genuinely was just a nice bar to have drinks and conversations with friends. Nice music that isn't too loud so you can talk with normal voice levels. The bartenders we had were super nice and charismatic. The drinks were not expensive, a respectable 13 bucks for my mule. If you have a bill over 40 dollars they automatically add 20% gratuity to it so keep that in mind when you are tipping. And after 8pm everything had 20% gratuity added to the bill. But the service is so damn good that you will probably still want to tip on top of that anyways. I loved it so much i actually made a yelp account just to post a review. TLDR super cool speakeasy type joint, cool aesthetics and laundry theme. Not loud, good for drinks and chit chat, cool well crafted specialty cocktails that don't break the bank. Good bartenders. Good times. Cozy seats that encourage you to hang out and talk even with folks you haven't met before and dim without being dark lighting. Clean bathroom too and quick charismatic service. Hit this place up for sure even just for the novelty of it. It was a wonderful surprise bar for a date night. Pro tip for this area in general. all paid parking, some place validates some do not, i am unsure if they do here but there is paid parking right out front and also a paid lot literally across the street. But i don't even bother. About a block and a half away northeast is a big shopping complex with a target. i just park there for free and walk. its a short nice walk and doesn't cost 20 bucks.

Highlights: Super fun speakeasy-style entrance Small interior, but the seating is arranged really well for different group sizes and feels surprisingly comfortable I don't recall them offering food during my visit, but the bartenders were friendly and were able to make a great mocktail Surrounded by different eateries, so it's easy to grab food nearby before or after drinks Easy parking, which is always a plus (street or parking garage nearby)

As the name might suggest, this places focuses on cocktails throughout the world. Nonetheless, as the opportunity presented itself, we have usually opted happy hour. The first time I came here, I asked for a drink that was recommended. The bartender made a wonderful espresso martini. Despite what I mentioned, this was not on the happy hour menu. It was still a great drink nonetheless. I should have clarified from my end that I was looking for a happy hour drink. Good level of espresso liqueur with smooth vodka. Also, simple presentation with the coffee beans on top. The second time I came here it was also for happy hour. This time, I got the Bee's Knees. This was refreshing and sweet. The harshness of the gin did come through at times but at a tolerable amount that wasn't overwhelming. I liked the visuals of the dehydrated lemon slice. In both visits, we were regularly checked on by staff seeing if we had anything else to order, to gets dishes/glasses out of the way, refill water, etc. Always so kind! I will also note that the restrooms are incredibly clean and well-stocked. Although I've only come to Atlas for happy hour, I would certainly love to come back some day later in the evening because I've heard the vibe and atmosphere is especially more lively during that time.
