It's strange to be giving so many restaurants five stars, but I do my research on Yelp first and I keep hitting home runs :-) I love how this restaurant is decorated, outside and inside, showing off its pride in the culture it so aptly represents. And the music was fun, hip, danceable, celebratory Latino music. The wait staff, hostess and servers were all friendly and delivered excellent service. The drinks were awesome. I had a Carajillo and my wife and her friends got a bottle of champaign with three juices as a mimosa sampler (all for just $18!) I liked the chips, and they came with two different salsa - a roja and a very spicy verde. But they also brought some refritos beans to dip the chips into. How great is that? And it wasn't just their generosity that impressed me -- it was the flavor! We had a ceviche appetizer, and that was very good, but I'm spoiled on great ceviche and I wouldn't say it was as impressive as everything else we tried. Still, it was fresh and refreshing. I broke down and got the quesabirria tacos. That's a big cheat for my diet (one I'm now working off) but wow was it good - especially the consume to dip your taco in. So flavorful! So... five stars. We had a great time there and would happily return here again. Oh... and the same people own the restaurant across the street so we want to check that out, too. It's Mediterranean / Lebanese and I love that type of cuisine, too. Also... I LOVE the name of this restaurant. "La Cabrona" roughly translates to "the bad-ass, " and it's in the feminine form, so... referring to the female owner (it's owned by a couple with the wife focused on this restaurant and the hubby focused on the restaurant across the street). The term "cabrona" is sometimes not considered polite language as it sometimes has a bit of a "b*itch connotation to it. But it's a totally bad-ass moniker to place on yourself and I love that. This place is absolutely beautiful! The ambiance and decor really stand out and make a great first impression. When we were first seated, we were given chips with a variety of dips, including mild and medium salsa and beans with mole. We assumed the beans had something like birria in them, but after we had already started eating, the waiter came and told us they contained pork. That's something that should definitely be communicated upfront, especially for guests who don't eat pork. Unfortunately, things didn't improve from there. My friend ordered a Sprite, and the glass it came in was visibly dirty, with green particles floating in the drink. While waiting to order our main dishes, we also noticed that the water pitcher placed on our table was not clean. At that point, we felt uncomfortable continuing our meal and decided to leave and go somewhere else. It's a shame because the place really is beautiful. First time trying La Cabrona. We had a 5:30pm reservation and were seated around 5:40pm. It took a little while for our server to make it to the table, but a manager/hostess noticed we hadn't been served, came over to apologize, and offered us a free appetizer, which was a really nice touch. Once our server arrived, she was friendly and clearly working hard to keep us happy. The chips, salsa, and beans were great, and the food and drinks overall were excellent. I found this from the great yelp reviews and was a little concerned at how pink the interior is considering that my table mates were two guys. This is a great place for cocktails. They had a really unique menu of tequila based cocktails and we were able to select one that was beyond delicious. We crushed the free chips and salsa that also come with a delicious beef dip and everything we ordered off of the food menu came out hot and fresh. I went with huevos rancheros, and the ranchero sauce on the eggs was excellent. I could see where this would be a phenomenal. The interior is pretty, pink, and spacious with some beautiful art like Dia De Los Muertos Catrina (Day of the Dead) art-sugar skull art on its walls. They also have outside seating which is also spacious. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a smile by some nice young ladies who were hosts. They definitely set the tone for my experience with their customer service which was the best. Our server Daisy M. was so kind, friendly, and attentive. She was the one who recommended the cheese as well as La Rosa when I informed her what type of drink I was in the mood for. As appetizers, we ordered guacamole and a delicious cheese. The "guacamole" was a letdown sad to say. However, that cheese was the bomb. 10/5 chef's kiss. I can't stress how much I highly recommend it, especially if you're a cheese lover. The décor is adorable, bright, and festive, and the space feels clean and welcoming. Our server was attentive throughout the meal. The aguachile was a true standout, and the salsas were boldly spicy--in the best way. Our favorite was the frijoles with asado de puerco. The tacos al cabrón (yes, that's the name) were delicious, though a small drawback was that they didn't taste freshly made and had a slight reheated-meat note. I found myself in Ft Worth on a Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I had to see a certain exhibit before it left. About 2 pm I was starving and wanted to grab a bite without driving too far. I've already got the Christmas spirit and it was helped by La Cabronas pink Christmas trees. The restaurant is nicely designed with different dinning areas,huge patio and beautiful bar area. Very spacious and comfortable. Now the food.... excellent Drinks- above average. Obviously attention to pour and mix here= a strong delicious drink. All house specialties are offered at $15. Tacos al Carbon-generous portions of meat in three corn tortillas with onions cilantro etc. Very good Fish Tacos- again 3 corn tortillas with generous portions of fried fish,slaw,guac and crema. I don't quite know whatsamatter with me that it has taken us this long to make it here to La Cabrona. It's been on my radar since it first opened. Happily we set things right with a visit at lunch today. The name, when taken playfully as they clearly intend, is pretty damn funny. The restaurant, as you can tell from the pictures here on Yelp, boasts a very cool and festive Mexican ambiance. To a person the waitstaff were welcoming, cordial and hospitable. Our server was super knowledgable and perfectly attentive throughout the course of our meal. The table is promptly presented stone bowls of salsa roja, salsa verde and re-fried beans chock full of delicious pulled pork. Both of the salsas here are unique; absolutely bursting with fresh flavors with just the right amount of that addictive heat that compels one to reach for chip after chip to dip. I began with a La Cabrona margarita. It's a great marg and proved to be the first of several LOL. It is poured with Cointreau, my orange liqueur of choice. As for wine one has two choices here. Red or white. Hahaha. Makes the decision pretty easy. My wife went with white. I cannot comment on La Cabrona's red as I'm not bold enough to venture trying it, but as a general rule if a restaurant offers one red and one white, go with the white. Always! LOL. We started with La Cabrona's aguachile to share, again a unique expression of the dish here and really enjoyable. The shrimp, cucumber and onion swim in a very generous portion of the Serrano and lime sauce. So much so that we brought enough sauce home to "cook" some more shrimp in. We'll see how that works out today. I opted for the quesabirria tacos and my wife the tacos de tinga. But are outstanding. This is one of, if not the most, rich and savory birria consommés I have ever enjoyed. Two of our three tacos each came home for lunch today and were just as good as yesterday. The air fryer rocks re-heating barria tacos! I can see this becoming a go to FYW Mexican food destination. If you hain't been yet, definitely give it a visit. The steak in the tacos was perfectly seasoned and had good texture. My daughter loved her quesadillas. It offers a full bar, outdoor seating, and a popular Sunday brunch buffet 11a-4p for $35 a person Sundays only Live mariachis start at 1 PM. We arrived about 1230. Your full party has to be there to be seated. Food is delicious. I got up about 3 to 5 times. Make sure that my money's worth and try a little of Everything!! mariachis are very good and entertaining. Parking does cost they will validate at the restaurant. The salsa and red enchilada sauce both lacked flavor which was disappointing, since on my first visit the salsa was spot-on. They also bring out a refried bean dip with meat without asking about dietary preferences, which could be an issue for some guests, especially vegetarian ones. The cheese enchiladas came filled with queso fresco, which doesn't make sense to me since it's cold and doesn't melt, and the whole point of a cheese enchilada is that gooey, melted cheese. On my second visit, I requested a different cheese and they kindly accommodated. My margarita was fine, but overall I was hoping for a solid Mexican meal and left disappointed. read more

Decided to do a follow at La Cabrona. Surprisingly they released a brunch menu for Saturday today. They did not disappoint! Love the shaded patio. Our waitress was super nice as always. I had the Carne Asada con Huevos Rancheros and also tried the regular Carne Asada (normal menu). The meat on both dishes is cooked perfectly and had sooo much flavor. Ended the meal with trying both flans one regular and one coffee flavored. They were both fantastic but since I love coffee I preferred the coffee flavored. As for the food, I ordered the enchiladas. They were very good if you're looking for a vegetarian option. They had a dj playing reggaeton on their patio.
