Wow! Solid food here! We had a group of 6 here for brunch and we had a great meal here. I ordered a cheese enchilada and a taco and a kids meal with quesadilla. I must have mis-spoke because they gave my kiddo an enchilada vs a quesadilla but the waiter was nice enough to say it was his mistake (although my group said it was definitely me). The guacamole was really flavorful as well as the queso. Both were great starters! The atmosphere was fun and authentic and this place is hidden amongst the stockyards. I really wanted to like this place, but it was very disappointing. The chips were super greasy and hard to enjoy. On the positive side, the queso was actually my favorite part of the meal--really the only thing I'd come back for. The grill skirt steak was a 3/10, . The shrimp was also disappointing and way over seasoned. The rice was good as always, but the beans were served cold, which really threw off the meal. The atmosphere at Paloma Suerte is fantastic. The Mrs. and I sat on the patio on a perfect day and really enjoyed it. The salsa and bean dip was solid but the guacamole particularly hit the spot today. I had the cheddar cheese and charred onion enchiladas and they were very good. It comes with a cilantro salad on top that made the flavor really pop. My lovely bride had the crab stuffed jumbo shrimp which she really enjoyed. This Tex-Mex restaurant was just OK, no wow factor here. Their queso was runny and lacked flavor, their brisket stuffed jalapeños was ok except the stuffing was more of a "brisket" sauce, not actual brisket pieces. Super-fun spot in the Stockyards! We went for a birthday brunch celebration. Food: good. Nothing to write home about, but us Texans are spoiled when it comes to Mexican food. My food was not hot (not cold, but it was migas...eggs cool fast). It just means mine sat for a minute while they prepared the other 3 in our party. This is the only reason for the 4 stars...I've had hot migas at other places before: it can be done. Service: excellent. They are attentive, bar was quick with the expresso martinis and mimosas, and we were well taken care of. Ten of us went here for lunch in a Sunday afternoon. I didn't learn our servers name, but she was great! The place is fairly large and airy and colorful. Chips and salsa were brought to the table and they brought multiple baskets and bowls out so people didn't have to reach far at all. The other end of the table ordered guacamole, but I didn't get any. Apparently it was very tasty. We all ordered drinks and I got the Suicide Schooner. It's a mixture of all their frozen margarita flavors and it was really good! I ordered the Beef Short Rib Birria Tacos and they were delicious! I couldn't begin to tell you what the other nine people ordered, but for the most part everyone was happy with their meals! A few people got enchiladas and said there was way too much cheese (is there such a thing?), but other than that, no notes! My brother in-law said this was the best Tex-Mex he'd ever eaten. Considering that he lives in SC by way of growing up in NYC, I wasn't so sure. But, lo and behold, this place is pretty good. The atmosphere here is dark and fun. Very clean and comfortable. The outside seating looked like a great place to nosh, but it was 85-90 degrees, so nah. Our server was very polite, albeit slow and seemingly disorganized. Still, the service was OK. I tend to judge Tex-Mex joints on their salsa. This stuff was served cold (which is a requirement for me). It had very little spice and might've been a little on the tart side, but it was decent. I asked for picosa to spice it up, and all they had was a Louisiana-style hot sauce. Oh well. The queso here is among the best I've ever tasted. Indeed, it was obviously Velveeta a Ro-Tel, but they also added chunks of avocado. Divine. The chips were freshly fried and a little greasy, but that's not unusual. I'm a cheese enchilada guy, but my brother in-law recommended the prime beef enchiladas. They were different in a wonderful way ... shredded beef on the inside with a chili con carne and queso topping that is reminiscent of the Texas red I grew up on. If I could change anything about this joint, the salsa would have some spice, and the food would be a little less on the greasy side. Also, the dude who was working as the host (a short chubby guy) might consider smiling once in a while. Still, next time I'm in this neck of the woods, I'll seriously consider giving them my repeat business. read more

Stopped here at 10.30 on Saturday night as it was close to our hotel. I was a little unsure about eating here as it had potential to be a bit of a tourist trap and my suspicion was entirely correct. The space is large and we were sat quickly and ordered some drinks. I went with the Paloma and unfortunately this wasn't a great choice (it just didn't taste quite right but I am not sure why). We ordered the BBQ Shrimp and Chicharrons to start and then ordered the duck and goat birria tacos. We waited quite a long time for our starters to arrive and when they did they brought all of our food together, including the tacos. We commented that we had wanted the tacos to follow and the waiter acknowledged that this should have been what happened and walked away. The chicharrons were good but this is where the positive food review ends. The BBQ shrimp was cold and the birria was oily/greasy and just generally very sloppy. The consommé itself tasted like it was made from a stock cube and lacked any flavour. There was no seasoning to the consommé and when I have had it in the past it has had herbs and pieces of meat in there, none of which this one had. We ate one taco each and left the rest. We spent about 15 minutes trying to get a waiter to tell them that there was a problem with the food. When we did eventually flag him down he said he would get his manager. We did speak with the manager and when I explained the issues with the birria he told me that this is how it was supposed to be. I have had birria many times and we have never had anything this oily with such a complete lack of flavour. He continued to insist that this was how it should be, and that I was wrong, which was just a strange way to deal with a complaint on food. He offered us some churros on the house but I said we didn't want any more food there and could we please just grab the check. They did kindly remove all of the food from our bill without us even asking/mentioning that, which we did appreciate and is why I give them 2 stars as opposed to 1. We wouldn't visit here again and would recommend trying somewhere else if you are in the area. read more

One of the better places we have had that serves Birria. It's full of flavor, and I really don't understand why there aren't many good reviews about this place. It's located in the Stockyards, and we really loved this place. We have had our fair share of Birria Tacos and this tops them all so far! what a gem of a find! FOOD : pretty much our whole table got the fajitas, and whether it was the beef or chicken fajitas we all said how much we absolutely loved them!!! Truly the best fajitas i've had to date, and knowing that they source their meats so well makes it all that much better. The fajitas weren't overly greasy and oily, i left feeling awesome. and it was the perfect amount of food. The flavor and texture was all there! The chips and salsa were also so delicious!!! 10/10 recommend! ATMOSPHERE / SERVICE : We had a great waitress who was super attentive and helpful and on it! We had a lot of people eating and she was really quick to meet our needs. It was a busy place and definitely gets loud so it's a good spot for bigger parties or just hangouts, maybe not so much a date. So this being my first trip to the Stockyards, I was not really sure what to expect. We found this restaurant on Yelp and decided to give it a try. The decor is very upscale and fitting of the surrounding area. Our server Franklin although busy ensured we were taken care of the entire time. The Queso comes pipping hot and the shredded brisket they add to it was phenomenal. The fajitas were definitely enjoyed by my family but I really have to recommend the Birria Tacos. They do have an assortment of adult beverages and you can't go wrong with a House Margarita. I will be back and I do recommend visiting if you are ever in the area. read more

Came to Paloma Suerte for dinner. We had sent a social media question ahead of time about beverage selection, which was not returned but we opted to give it a go. The location in the Stockyards area is great and the restaurant is huge, so those were big pluses. We were with a group so it took a little while to be seated. No biggie, it was a relatively busy night and we appreciated them accommodating a large group. When they came around for drink orders, we asked about non-alcoholic beer and got a strange look from the server. She reluctantly said she would ask the bar tender what they had. Upon returning, she was not very friendly, just saying "we don't carry that stuff, if you want something without alcohol, we have sodas." Strange for a place this size in 2025, but I'm fine with a good iced tea with dinner. It was her attitude toward the question that rubbed me the wrong way. Chips and salsa were brought next, in generous portions. Their salsa is excellent. When it came time to order, we split the steak fajitas for two. When the food came out, everything looked delicious, although portion sizes were fairly modest. The server bringing the food got visibly frustrated when he was having to wait while people shuffled around chip plates on the table to make room for food and made a few impatient comments. The food was delicious. Seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of spice. Guac was excellent. The price is still a bit steep, especially given the plethora of Tex-Mex options in the DFW area. There are plenty of places I can get equal quality for a lower price. The service was also so-so at best. While I wouldn't say no if a friend suggested Paloma Suerte, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to go back. Plenty of other good places to eat in the area. read more

This spot gets packed at night since it's in the Stockyards so I would recommend big parties to call and reserve. They only seat you when 50% or more of your party is there. Music is kind of loud in there, probably the only down side. The beef fajitas were sooooo delicious! The meat was tender and it came out so fresh. The beans and rice are served as family style so depending on how big your party is, they will bring out usually 1-2 plates of it. We had about 8 people and they brought out 2 plates. read more

The service was extremely slow. Two tables around us were seated after us but had their order taken long before us, and ended up getting their bill and leaving just after we got our food. We had to ask for our waiter every time after being seated. We had to ask a bus boy to find our waiter after waiting 30 minutes to order. Then we had to go to the front to ask for our waiter and the bill. The water wasn't refilled until we asked. The table next to us ordered guacamole and never got it. As we were leaving it looked like our waiter had all inside tables except for us, which seems like poor management. The Migas off the brunch menu was 80% soggy shredded tortilla, half of one scrambled egg, and hardly any potato. The corn tortillas on the breakfast tacos were plain, chewy, and just not very good. The other dishes were just overpriced with not enough food. Also the salsa was ok but bland. The only thing I liked about it was that the patio and outdoor space was a nice area. However, the outside seating was tiny patio chairs that are extremely uncomfortable. It's like they're not adult chairs, because they weren't fitting people's hips. So we are in Ft. Worth Texas on a adventure trip with our dog. We decided to take a recommendation and eat here. I wanted some Tex-Mex food being Mexican and in Texas. I figured this should be good so I ordered shrimp fajitas. My husband ordered enchiladas. He had a couple of beers and i had Prickly Pear margaritas. The shrimp was seasoned with all of the right seasons, tortillas were excellent, rice and beans were tasty as well. My husband's enchiladas were carne and chorizo mix. Everything was hot. Perfect AC excellent good taste but I gotta tell you that service. The server Jaime was very attentive. He offered excellent suggestions on what we should order. Everything was perfect. Need I mention to manager loved my dog and it was a little hot outside. I have a service dog and sat in a small corner and we're very content. Later I introduced to the manager the security guard Brittany, who suggested the restaurant. I told the manager I would love to buy Brittany a drink after work how can make this happen. He spoke with her briefly and said "Brittany come back after your shift at 2pm and the Restaurant will buy you a drink." So it is very obvious this place is top notch.
