The Guava

Vidorra sits on the Grand Lawn near EpicCentral - such a neat little area with plenty of eats to explore in the direct vicinity! Love the open concept of this restaurant with access to the bar both indoor and outdoor. We arrived early evening on Easter Sunday and the wait was not too bad considering it was quite busy. While we waited for our table we stopped at the bar to grab a drink. The bartender was not particularly friendly but got the job done. We ordered the Papi Chulo and the Guava - no complaints on the drinks other than needing to have one remade due to an unclean glass. We were seated and our sever, Samantha, was very sweet and attentive. She answered questions with no problem, gave us time to browse the menu without forgetting about us and even came back to the table to inform us something we ordered was prepared with pork and wanted to ensure that was okay as we explained most of us primarily ate pescatarian. Food arrived and it was fine - nothing to truly write home about. The chips and salsa were quite tasty! The chips are seasoned so it adds a little razzle dazzle. Overall, just a mediocre dining experience, other than our awesome server. Definitely not my go to for Mexican food, but again, not terrible.

This was my first time coming here , it is a cute restaurant with outside and inside seating , we did not wait to be seated , we sat in a good area I was on a double date with friends . The service was nice its just our waitress was a bit too chatty if I may add , I love a super engaged person to serve us it shows you like your job but you talk and talked about your whole day and we were on a intimate date . The food was good except the garlic roasted potatoes that we added as a side again never been there before they served us the potatoes in a hot skillet and well they were completely burnt and tasteless and the whole table did not like them I asked the waitress to take them back because the back of the dang potatoes were pitch black , and the waitress lectured us not once but twice on how it comes out on a whatever temp and blase blase and next time ask for them not to come on the skillet ... First of all how the heck am I suppose to know they were coming out on a skillet in the first place it's not in the menu description? Then are you saying anyone who orders this is getting burnt potatoes ? Okay yeah make it make sense lol . I don't know if I'll come back here but fun experience only because the water show that was happening after we left .

I'll lead with the bad and end with the positive. The music is too loud. Normally the rumble of everyone talking is enough for you to have to speak up over a meal. This was so loud the speaker system was struggling with the base. It was too much. It is December and cold outside. It was cold in here and the ceiling fans were going strong. It was not a comfortable to place to get out of the cold. The decor is very nice. Seating was spread out well enough for privacy. Our meal was excellent!!! The guacamole was excellent. It was chunky and fresh. We had salsa and chips and some tacos. Every thing was fresh and flavorful. Before we left, my friend did let the manager know that it was way too loud and it was a bit much to have ceiling fans rolling in December. Our input was well-received. The food was so good. I would love to go back but, if it is still loud, I will have to take mine to go.

Me and my friends walked in, took a seat at the bar ordered some food and drinks and genuinely had a positive experience. The ambiance was nice, the food was delicious, and the drinks were strong. I will say though that ceviche is spicy as heck. Service was good.

The food is pretty good here and so are the drinks. But I had to take 2 stars off for some interesting interactions I had to be a part of. First off let me say, I'm not trying to be rude but what I observed were 5 too many Gen Z moments. We were being seated when the hostess realized a couple was sitting at our table. The gal was malfunctioning. She walked back and for several times asking them why would they be sitting on a 6-too bc there's only 2 of them... several times... and several times they said they don't know they were sat there. Awkward bc my family of 6 were just standing there watching this all happened in a small space standing over them eating their chips. But the seating area was large, it could've fit 16 people because of the wrap around bench seating and NOONE was sitting near them. There were literally 14 available seats next to them.... But rather then just move us down, more hostesses and waitresses huddled to problem solve and then someone decided to pick up a table from the other side of the room and put it next to the already large empty place. Shortly after the hostess came back to the couple and asked who sat them there? Huh? Like you did all that meeting time and moved furniture to come back and ask the same thing? They ended up moving the couple inside. I apologized to them and told them we would've been happy to share space with them, but they were over it. After all that, they never sat anyone in that large area... We waiting 1.15hrs for our food and yes it was cold but I was more baffled at the fact that someone came back to get that extra table they moved to put it back to the other side to seat a different group. The whole situation had me laughing of "wow really this is happening? My first Gen Z malfunction encounter" Establishment is nice, staff is young and just need some more critical thinking cells, and it was crazy busy. 2hr wait and 1hr wait time for our food.

I couldn't wait for the Vidorra to open in Grapevine, so I hit up the Grand Prairie location. Busy spot with the epicenter nearby but we got quickly seated upstairs. Kicked off with a nice refreshing Jalepeno Magarita to pair with the chips and salsa. I loved the green sauce but didn't care too much for the red. With the brunch menu, I went with the sour cream chicken enchiladas. Nice portion size. Quality service, nice atmosphere, now hurry and open the Grapevine location so I can check out the dinner menu!

Gold Digger, chips & salsa
Kevin Z.

Great chips & salsa w/ some unique flavors. Truly delicious drink, I really enjoyed the gold digger. If you're into frozen sweet drinks, definitely try the ones here. The pollo su crema had so much potential - all the flavors and ingredients around the chicken were fantastic (I really loved the sauce), but the chicken itself was quite underwhelming. Since it is bone-in, I had high hopes for tenderness and flavor, but it was really lacking in both. Still a decent meal, and I'm sure others who are less picky about meat texture + love saucy flavors would especially enjoy this. The place was busy, with plenty of people & a good vibe, and we were only able to get a seat at the bar. We got good service there, though.

This was our first trip to this location- here are the takeaways: Chips are yummy, and the salsas are very good. The servers are sweet and attentive as well. My husband's fajitas were good- grilled chicken was amazing he said. I got the chicken street tacos because I was told they were "light," but the tortillas were soaked in oil. I had asked for just DRY, soft corn tortillas (my stomach can't handle it and I like to TASTE the tortillas), but they were soaked - so wet, they even fell apart. A bit of a letdown- SO if we ever return, I'll know better (special requests don't seem to go over well much anymore, anywhere ).

I came with a larger party ordering so much food however due to my recently getting out of hospital I wanted something small and refreshing. I ordered the elote- it wasn't Southern California styled nor good; it was missing something. So was the watermelon salad, I mean if I'm paying $12 for watermelon let it have me praising the cook, it was just oooh ok this is cute. I got to taste the nachos and birria my niece ordered her food was good but it wasn't great. To be honest it tasted like gentrified Mexican food- all of it. We ordered fried ice cream and it was not goood it was like someone scoop a ball of ice cream and put fruity pebbles all around and was like here greeedy. I'd be fair and blame it on us arriving towards their closing, HOWEVER a restaurant of this caliber should always be on its peas and q's. My waitress however Niah!!!!! she was so attentive to our table, got all of our orders correct and was flat out amazing.

From the moment I walked in, I could tell this would be a wonderful food experience. Vidorra is a cute little spot in the Epic Central and within walking distance of the hotel we were staying in. The smoky smell and sizzling scents made my mouth water. Jusselle was our waitress and she was really helpful. We ordered drinks and water, then she brought us the molcajete queso bowl and our night was set. This delicious bowl of piping hot queso was a great appetizer. Don't touch, it comes in at a scorching 400 degrees, which is why the place has such a delectable scent. I ordered the Vidorrita with the added energy drink and they were able to make it with sugar free Red Bull. It was yummy with the right mix of alcohol. I ordered the beef birria, which came with 3 tacos and added my signature fresh jalapeño on the side. I was sweating up a storm but super happy with my meal. I am glad they actually assembled the tacos , I dipped in the consommé and went to town. Too full to eat my rice and beans but good to mix them together. The queso was filling but tacos small enough for me to finish it all. Definitely recommend. So many other things to try there. They have a nightclub upstairs too just in case you want to dance afterwards.

App and entrees, didn't drink tonight. Appetizer meatballs were excellent, "simple" seeming but hearty with herbal richness in the sauce and with excellent light, not over-packed meat texture. Wife's oxtail ragu pasta was piping hot and very rich, with good quantity of falling-apart meat. Clearly house made broad rustic flat noodles. I got the striped bass which was *superbly* wood charred (if you know, you know) but still very moist with a really excellent herb chimichurri and a generous pile of still crisp green beans, snap-peas, and lightly charred broccolini. Perfect "low starch" combo without even feeling like I was denying myself. I'd put it in the top 3 best fish entrees I've had anywhere, and I'm old. Service was spot on, nothing obsequious or pretentious just good engagement and then there before we ever needed to look, with little extra awareness like bringing out more ice for my wife's water when it was half melted (without being asked!) because she asked for it to start out. Simple gracious hospitality. Will definitely return. Preferably on a night I can add a drink and indulge in a dessert, too.

Honestly, 4 Kahunas Tiki Lounge right here in Arlington is right up there with the very best of them. The place just feels like an instant getaway. It's tucked back off the main drag but the second you walk in you're on some tropical island, no plane ticket required. The cocktails are legit. Super well-made, great balance, real tiki depth, none of that fake sweet garbage you sometimes get. Every drink we've had has been spot-on. Maggie working the bar is the real MVP though. She's quick, knows her stuff inside out, super friendly, and somehow makes the whole night feel personal. Whatever we ordered, she crushed it and kept the good vibes going. She's a huge reason we keep coming back. Only thing that would make it even better? A water feature. A little fountain, a trickling stream down some rocks, or even a small waterfall wall in the back would dial the ambiance up to 11 and really sell that full island escape feel.
