Mesero has a classy, nearly upscale ambiance and the food definitely has potential, but a few things fell short. ​We had a party of 15, so I will give them some grace. The ceviche was very good and a highlight of the meal. However, I had the asada fajitas, which hardly had any onions or peppers, and the steak was very overcooked. It may have sat under a heat lamp while waiting on the rest of the party's food to finish. ​The margaritas were decent, but they are not worth the near $20 price tag. On the positive side, service was great throughout the night despite our large group size. ​Overall, a nice atmosphere with solid service, but the execution on the entrees and drink pricing need work. read more

Our second visit to this restaurant to give them another try. We requested a patio seating which was nice. We were seated almost as soon as we walked in with no reservations. We enjoyed the patio, though our table was right next to the entrance to the restaurant so it was a busy location. The food was ok, not amazing. Service was what really makes or breaks a restaurant for us. Our first visit did not impress us but we were hoping it was just a unique experience. This visit was not any better unfortunately. We ordered simple drinks and had to ask why it was taking so long to get them. The queso seemed under-heated. The setting of the restaurant is pleasant and the corner location makes it convenient, maybe service would be better if we had sat at the bar. read more

I've been to Mesero many times and I enjoy each time. The ambience at night is great. You can't beat the location. Everything nestled in clearfork is perfect for walking around before and after dinner. The servers have always been quick and pleasant to be with. Tonight I really enjoyed my jalapiña Margarita. I highly recommend if you like tajin and spice! The airline chicken is juicy and tender. The salad served with it is incredible as well. It has great zing. The asada fajitas are some of the best of Fort worth. Quality meat, no fatty or chewy bits. True tender cuts. Dress it with lime and perfection! Although we were disappointed in the Mojitos, the rest of our experience was pretty good. We were there early a Saturday evening and it was busy! The wait wasn't too bad and the hostesses were very sweet. Once seated, we got our complementary chips, which are a bit heavy, but good enough. The salsas are a nice variety and just enough. I got Chile Colorado and bean soup. The beans were great, the entree had a good flavor, but the pieces of meat were sparse. My husband LOVED the chicken enchiladas! They had a tasty cheese sauce on them. What we really liked was the ambience. Joe T's has the margaritas down, Gloria's has the mojito. I'm not sure what drink they specialize in. Was only here for 20 minutes before we left and went somewhere else. Service was 10/10 our server was amazing no bad notes there! I ordered the chip dip duo appetizer thing that came with "guacamole" aka mashed avacado with absolutely 0 seasoning or taste, queso that was warm but for some reason hard like queso gets when you don't stir it for a while lol, and 5 chips. That mixed with the not so yummy margaritas was enough for me to take me and my girl friends to a different Mexican restaurant. One of my favorite places to eat by far. You can practically close your eyes and "on the tail on your dinner" and be happy with what you've selected. My favorites are La China fried rice and the chili relleno. The queso Blanco is also fantastic. They need a combination of the guacamoles. I want the lime and salt along with the habenero. But you can just get a lime from the bar and add salt to the habenero. I don't like they don't have a fountain drink, so you get charged by the can for soda. Salsa trio is different from what you'd expect, but still very tasty. I have never left disappointed or not stuffed. I always order 2 meals so I have leftovers. The fried rice reheats very nicely smothered in the remaining queso and guacamole. read more

I'm a fan of the Clearfork area and I decided to give this spot a try. The ambiance is pleasant and inviting, but unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to expectations. The highlight of the meal was definitely the chips and trio of salsas, which were fresh and flavorful. Our server recommended the Queso Mesero, which includes spinach and artichoke--while it was an interesting twist, it wasn't quite to my taste. I'm a fan of both classic queso and spinach artichoke dip, but this combination didn't quite hit the mark for me. For my main, I ordered the Rojas Enchiladas. While they were basic, they were decent, though I was disappointed by the small portion of pinto beans and rice on the side, which didn't add much to the dish. Craving something sweet, I was hoping to see a dessert like flan on the menu, but instead we opted for the Tres Leches cake. It was massive and rich which is more Americanized rather than of an authentic Central or South American Tres Leches. Overall, while the atmosphere was enjoyable and the service was friendly, this isn't a place I'd rush back to. There are certainly better options for Tex-Mex in the area, but it's worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood and in the mood for Mexican. read more

The service was excellent, moved us from a noisy area to outside. That was great, however the music was blasting so loud it was difficult to talk. The drinks were tasty and the menu extensive. This place was very clean and the ambiance is nice. Our waiter was polite but had issues checking on us. He might have been busy in the dining room while we were on the patio. The food definitely seemed average that was made to look upscale and a lot was under seasoned. I had the Asada tacos and the Brisket tacos. The brisket was definitely under seasoned and the steak in the Asada was good. The beans on both dishes were definitely under seasoned also. Our waiter brought us the check without asking if we would like dessert. When we asked for carrot cake to-go he seemed slightly frustrated by the curveball m, but rolled with it nonetheless. The carrot cake while flavorful but also dense almost like a muffin or banana bread. Fort Worth is highly competitive with Mexican and Tex-Mex, so I had high hopes. From the kind hostess who greeted us, to the comfortable booth where we were seated (and option for outdoor seating), to the modern and warm decor around us, to the outstanding menu, to the patient waitstaff, to the thick corn tortilla chips + 3 dipping salsas we ate while awaiting our food, to the fabulous wine + apps + entrees. With my love for mole, I had such high hopes for this enchilada. The actual mole sauce was great! The deep smoky flavor of the peppers came through and a slight sweetness also permeated the sauce. The chicken inside the tortilla was in huge pieces and pretty dry. There was not much flavor to the dish outside of the sauce. The veggies and rice + beans were okay, but not exceptional. Top notch location in Clearfork with views of the park and an outdoor patio. Service is quick here and if you ask to share a plate they will split it between two plates for you. Margarita sampler is good and the option of three different salsas was an exciting bonus. We loved the Braised pork with a side of rice and the chips are what I call a sturdy chip which would have gone well with guacamole. I'm surprised that this place doesn't have a higher rating! Maybe luck was involved, but I really enjoyed everything about my recent visit here from start to finish. It's located within The Shops at Clearfork, so if you can't get parking immediately close by there are free parking garages nearby. I appreciated the lighting, the spacing of the seating, the music, and the noise level wasn't bad at all. Waiter Miguel was great! He was very attentive, knowledgeable of the menu items, and pleasant. He gets an A+ ! The Brandon frozen sangria was very flavorful and I enjoyed it slowly during my meal. If good service is important to you, this is the place to go! I felt so welcomed and taken care of. Quick and personable and very genuine. The ambiance is hip but not pretentious and not loud which I appreciated. They have Coke products (which I love) and a great menu of cocktails. Complimentary chips and salsa. They serve a thicker chip which isn't my preference but mi esposo dug it. The yellow salsa is a chile salsa, rojo not chunky and verde has nice chunks of avocado in it. Muy bien. Nine of us went to dinner here on a Friday night. Fortunately, we had a reservation as there were people waiting for a table when we arrived. We were seated immediately and a server (Thelma?) came over right away. She was great the entire time we were there - from drinks to appetizers to entrees - she was on it! The vibe was cool! It was a little loud, but it's a big place and it was packed. Everything I tried was delicious! All of us were happy with our drinks and the food. Shout out to Mesero & their staff! Made a reservation for 14 earlier this week. Received a call to confirm 1-2 days before. They inquired if/how we would be splitting the checks and if we were celebrating anything. Our party arrived for our 730 PM reservation. Tables were set & waiting on us! We sat as we arrived, and the entire party wasn't present to be seated which was nice. We had one server & one in training helping him. Nothing was done presentation wise to acknowledge the birthday (I was waiting on that, but I also didn't remind the waiter) we were celebrating but overlooking that we had a great time, food orders were correct, the pace of dinner & drinks were great. Only got a picture of my own food. But we had a range of menu items at the table (salads, fajitas, combo plates, tacos) and everyone enjoyed their meals! I've tried this place a few times now, as it's nearby, so decided to write a review. I'm generally a fan of the apps and food here, but I came with a friend who wanted to try the drinks. She tried the el Santo and I tried the Jalapina. I think we both were ok with the drinks, though I felt mine doesn't really mixed well. I don't have much of an opinion on the drinks other than that one night, but my friend seemed to enjoy her drink without any issue. This place was better than I thought it would be. I expected bland Tex mex especially looking at the pictures but to my surprise they were good. I had the enchiladas which were tasty and I was feeling good so I decided to indulge in the drink of the day. It had a funny name that drew me into it but I can't recall what it was I'm a bit behind on reviews we went here a few months ago. The drink was real good and strong at first sip you are hit with the tequila which means to me the drink was done right.
