    Hummingbird cake
    Toni L.

Arriving in Fort Worth looking for a great steak place. We were not disappointed! Our waitress CoCo was helpful in navigating our curiosity about the menu. She was well versed about the ingredients and family history of recipes. She helped us create an amazing menu of 24 oz bone in Ribeye with 3 pairing sauces (bone marrow butter a must!) the wedge salad with a tangy dill dressing was different and fresh. The creative layered loaded potato gratin was chef's kiss to our meal. Our last taste was the hummingbird cake that topped off our last most memorable meal in Fort Worth. Thank you CoCo for your hospitality and B&H for your incredible restaurant.

Located in the Bowie Hotel, it's a wonderful place for lunch or dinner date. The decor and ambiance are rustic chic with a great cowboy historic feel. Lots of history there, the service is impeccable. We made reservations, which is a must especially for dinner or on the weekends. We ordered the shrimp cocktail appetizer and some drinks, we also had the salmon and the crab cake. Our server Jennifer was amazing and friendly she introduced herself and asked and remembered our names for the duration of our meal. We shall definitely go there again for dinner.

Dined at Bricks and Horses before attending the rodeo on a Friday evening. We had an early dinner reservation time (5:30 PM), and the restaurant was already packed. Valet was convenient, but it's a tight area. The restaurant is gorgeous, and every detail was carefully considered. I started off with a cocktail, Prairie Rose, which has gin in it, and it was good, light and floral. We started off with Ritz & Dips, which comes with three dips: garlic artichoke (least favorite, and I do love a good artichoke dip), pimento cheese (my favorite), and bacon & jalapeño. If you are vegetarian or don't like one of the dips, you can have two of the same dips. They bring you a sleeve of Ritz and cut it open with gold scissors. The freshly baked sourdough looked appetizing on other tables, and I would get it next time. Skipped a salad, but the fried goat cheese & fig seems like it would be good. Being vegetarian, I ordered the black truffle risotto, which was good. It could have used a little bit more flavor, but otherwise was made well. Fish fry consisting of halibut was also ordered, and I was told it was good. Oh, and you can't go wrong with a side of house fries. On past menus, they had a gnocchi that looks delicious, but it wasn't on the menu for the night. I think a good pasta dish should be available at all times on the menu.

I wanted to do something upscale for brunch today so we made reservations here for 10:00 AM. Whoever did the design and décor here knocked it out of the park. So interesting and enjoyable from the driveway/drop off entrance to the restaurant. Our server Marcello was so cordial and accommodating. He provided a lovely brunch experience for us. We went with a bottle of a Sonoma Sauvignon Blanc that proved to be a perfect complement to our dishes. Anne went with the eggs Benedict which is done here with a wonderfully elevated flourish; two poached eggs atop a lovely sourdough croissant with creamy spinach, bacon jam and a tarragon Hollandaise. Need I say more? We're natives to the north Gulf coast and frankly pretty much burned out on shrimp and grits. But something possessed me here and that's what I went with. Maybe it was the wine or perhaps it was the mystery of Crispy White Cheddar Grits, Creole BBQ Shrimp and a Scallion Crème Fraiche. So glad I tried this. For my almost 77 years now fried grits have been a family dish. Leftover grits are smoothed into a 9x9 baking dish and refrigerated. The next day the congealed grits are sliced into bars dipped in flour, then egg, then flour and pan fried in butter. So good. The kitchen here has put this concept on steroids. A 3x4x1 inch block of perfectly cooked cheese grits is breaded and apparently deep fried to a crisp exterior over which the angels sing. This is topped with the scallion crème fraiche. The three jumbo shrimp are perfectly cooked (meaning not cooked to the consistency of shoe leather) and the BBQ shrimp preparation is definitely Creole-ish. It all works together so tastily. The Bowie House offers free valet parking until 5:00pm for patrons of the restaurant.

The Bar at Bowie House in Fort Worth is perfection and the definition of cowboy chic. With rich leathers, warm tones, and Western elegance, it's the kind of place that feels both elevated and effortlessly Texan. The bartenders are knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about their craft. Their seasonal cocktail list is always fresh and creative, featuring unique twists that make every visit feel new. If you're hungry, don't miss the Smokies in a Blanket -- flaky puff pastry wrapped around jalapeño cheddar wagyu sausages, served with a scallion chimichurri that's out of this world. Located inside The Bowie House hotel, valet service makes it super convenient whether you're staying the night or just stopping in for drinks.

Went a group of ladies and we had a very nice time! The atmosphere is sophisticated cowboy. Very relaxing and classy. Menu is varied with something for everyone. My crab cake was perfectly crisp and moist with right amount of crab. It was complemented by a nice fresh salad with egg slices and a nice vinaigrette. The table bread was sourdough and so comforting with delicious high quality butter. A definite get away feel in town. Also enjoy the beauty of the hotel itself as you enter the restaurant!

Breakfast/Brunch at Brick and Horses is VERY good. The service was top notch also. They start by giving complimentary mini-biscuits (which were fantastic) with honey and homemade jelly. Then had the Cowtown Breakfast with perfectly cooked scrambled eggs and surprisingly light and fluffy tater tots. The bacon had a wonderful smoky flavor to it also. Then had the Ricotta Egg Scrambled and the Avacado Pesto Toast. The eggs were VERY creamy from the ricotta and the side salad on the dish had an avocado balsamic dressing (called the Green Goddess) that was fantastic. The Avocado Pesto Toast was also phenomenal. Definitely worth the hype and can't wait to try this place again.

Bricks & Horses Feels Like a Rustic Hug With Amazing Service Bricks & Horses has that perfect rustic charm -- cozy, warm, and stylish without feeling forced. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt inviting, like stepping into a refined countryside lodge. The service was genuinely great -- attentive without hovering, friendly without being too much. You can tell the staff takes pride in what they do. The food? Comfort meets quality. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and made with care. It's the kind of place where you slow down, enjoy the moment, and realize you'll definitely be back. A perfect blend of rustic vibes, great flavors, and even better service. Highly recommend.

We decided to do Thanksgiving dinner out and this restaurant was our choice. It is located inside the Auberge hotel in Fort Worth. From the moment you arrive you are treated like royalty the doorman hold the doors open for you as you enter the absolutely beautiful lobby. The hotel bar is absolutely gorgeous and feels like Fort Worth. There's lots of wood, a giant pistol sculpture for you to take photos with fantastic art everywhere especially of rodeo horses! They even have a double sided fireplace next to the bar for cozy drinks fireside. Bricks and horses is located just off the bar, having a main dining and a separate room at the back for private dining. The waiters are very attentive on the food is delicious! Since tonight was Thanksgiving, I did not take photos of the food as it's not their normal menu but next time I return I will definitely post more photos. For today I'm just posting photos of the interiors so you can see how beautiful it is.

Although we had interruption due to fire alarms going off this morning-the breakfast was great and Madison our server was very apologetic about whole thing. Needless to say it was great find and they have history of books in their library lounge of hotel!

This place is AMAZING!!! Very country feel with upscale service. Attentive and friendly staff that is knowledgeable about specials and recommendations. I love to come here for happy hour, light bites with friends, or dinner. I've never had a bad experience with anything I order from the menu. My favorites are: ham & cheese beignets ritz & dips jumbo shrimp cocktail the crispy salmon Not on the menu is their delicious sourdough. When it's offered, please order it! I will continue to visit this place as it's a favorite!!!

Ritz crackers and three dips. Good

Beautiful restaurant with well-prepared & unusual food. Inside the Bowie House hotel, Bricks and Horses offers a lot more than just steaks on its menu. I had a quirky app of Ritz crackers with 3 dips (corn, jalapeño and artichoke hearts) which was flavorful and good with cocktails. Also ordered the lobster picatta which was small but cooked perfectly with a mild lemon sauce. Had some Asian style green beans which I liked (caution, there are peanuts). For dessert I had a peanut butter ice cream and chocolate sauce dish - pretty good. Service was friendly and attentive. The decor is 'Western' but with far more style than the Hotel Driver, IMHO. All in all, if you have the $$$ for a splurge, this is a great place for dinner.

I can't even explain how incredible the experience at Bricks & Horses was! The food, ambiance and service was insane. I'm a very picky person when it comes to restaurant service and experience because I worked in the industry so long. I didn't have one critique at all. We got a lot of different things to try. Our server, Madison, was perfect. Thanks for a great brunch.

The noise level was extremely high...we literally had to yell just to have a conversation with each other. Service was also very slow. It took about 15 minutes just to be acknowledged at the bar, and close to 30 minutes to actually receive a drink. When I finally ordered, I told the bartender to make her favorite drink. She made something that included raw egg whites (which I later learned is common in certain cocktails), but it wasn't mentioned or explained at the time. A few hours later, I became very sick...vomiting and dealing with what felt like severe food poisoning all night and through the next 24 hours. After looking into it, I suspect it may have been related to the raw egg used in the drink. Just something to be aware of if you're ordering drinks like a whiskey sour or anything that may include egg whites. After getting our receipt (which you need for the speakeasy entry code), we checked out the speakeasy portion, but the vibe there wasn't great either..pretty must the same as the other part of the bar. We ended up leaving within about five minutes. Overall, the experience didn't live up to the hype for us....between the noise, long wait times, and how we were treated, it just wasn't enjoyable. For comparison, the bar next door, Archibald, felt much more welcoming. Maybe regulars have a different experience, but as first-time guests, we were not impressed.
