Gotta great vibe like a 50's diner and a country cafe had a love child that likes flannel, black coffee, and eggs. Service was friendly but not overly involved. Every time my cup was empty they magically appeared to fill it. They just showed up right at the time I needed something but did not ask about my mom and then which I greatly appreciated. We had the bacon cheddar fries and they came with ranch and chipotle ranch both made in house and they were great! Chipotle ranch has a little kick but we both liked it. My wife got the Ragin Cajun Club and could only eat 1/4 of it because of the abundant portion sizes. She also got onion rings that went great with the ranch. I got the Cajun Pork Chop and it might have been the greatest dish I've ever eaten. It's served on a helping of the cheddar grits with andouille gravy and creole fried eggs. It's like an explosion of savory Cajun goodness with every bite. The right amount of spice. Runny yokes with the gravy and grits and a bite of lightly breaded pork chop. If I have to complaint jts that it's a bone in pork chop. But as you can see from the picture I all but gnawed the bone. read more

This was a miss for me . Has all the elements to be a unique fun diner experience but didn't deliver . Came to check out their vegan Vera Cruz Benny breakfast plate ..Marinated seared tofu , masa cakes , avo , ranchero sauce . Lacked flavor and spice , even after throwing Chipotle hot sauce on it not much flavor . I'm super appreciative of any restaurant adding vegan item to their menu but if you're gonna do it , do it well. The fruit side I ordered was horrible , kiwis going bad . Iced tea was good . Warning if you sit outdoors the flies come out in full force . Ugh. My server was incredible and so so nice , happily removed fruit from my bill . They were pretty short staffed for a normal breakfast rush hour and the restaurant is in need of some deep cleaning . We stopped by Vickery Café in Fort Worth for brunch and had a really nice experience. I ordered the Breakfast Monte Cristo, and it was delicious. The bread reminded me of French toast, and the combination of the salty ham with the Swiss cheese made the sandwich feel really well balanced. It came with raspberry jam, but I personally wasn't crazy about it as it didn't add the sweetness I expected. Honestly though, the sandwich was really good I enjoyed it without the jam. My fiancé ordered the cheeseburger, which was well seasoned, and the fries were also nicely seasoned and fresh. Overall, we both really enjoyed our brunch and would definitely come back. read more

I've been here several times over the last year and the food is pretty good. They have several items that they add their own unique twist too. I have tried multiple items on the menu and have never had anything that wasn't good. The service is hit and miss. On the weekends they are packed and the service is pretty good. I went recently on a weekday and it was horrible, like took 20 minutes to get a coffee refill horrible and they were nearly dead. The restaurant is tiny and if you go when it's busy you will basically be rubbing elbows with the strangers sitting next to you. They have recently added a few booths when you first walk in which does help. The prices over the last year have went up considerably which in the future will ultimately put them at the bottom of our pick list. It's good, but not that good. My last visit I had a stack of three pancakes and coffee. No meat or side, just pancakes. The total before tip was $17. read more

Went in early on a Saturday morning and sat at the bar. Was greeted quickly. My server was super friendly and answered all my questions and gave me great recommendations - I'm kicking myself for not remembering her name! The orange juice is fresh, and sooooo good!! I go the machaca eggs Benedict and loved it. The corn cakes were the perfect base with the brisket. And the hollandaise sauce had a little kick to it but not super spicy. This fits the bill of a small "hole in the wall" place. Overall the whole experience was very mehhh. We were instantly greeted and sat, no wait at 11:30am Saturday, which was nice. We sat down and he was immediately like "ok, what can I get for you to eat"..... can I have more than 10 seconds? It was more of the way he said it and the energy he was giving off. Biscuit was dry, gravy was lukewarm and meh. The migas didn't have much flavor and maybe a 2/5 stars for him. When we were done, we sat there for 10 minutes while our waiter was eating at the bar and then just sat there for another 5 minutes to chat with other staff. The restaurant was a bit tricky to find, as it's tucked into a residential/shopping/business area off 7th Street and it looks like one may have to valet park. I live downtown, so I took the #2 bus which dropped me off across the street, so I can't attest to whether the parking is a hassle or not. The first thing I noticed is that there wasn't the classic bacon and eggs breakfast--2 eggs, a meat, and a bread. I asked about it, and the waitress said they have it but it's not shown on the menu. I asked for the price, and she said she would check. I saw her punching things into the register and she came back with the figure of $12. I asked if she had to enter the items ala carte, but she didn't give me a direct answer. I ordered 2 pancakes special with choice of meat and what was supposed to be 2 eggs. $11.50. The pancakes were delicious. The egg was okay but it seemed like just one egg. The sausage was one 3 inch very thin piece. Coffee was good and the waitress refilled my cup several times. Summary: I don't think I got a good value for the money paid. Portion sizes seemed to be for someone on a diet, with the exception of the pancakes. It was $20 with tip for breakfast. Will I go back? Possibly. I like the location since I'm using public transportation and I was able to walk back to my downtown condo. Perhaps I'll just order the pancakes next time. read more

This is a regular spot when in a pinch. Always great service in a small, cute diner. Melissa is out favorite service and is always on point with her fun attitude and prompt attention. Coffee is always great and OJ is fresh squeeze but this last visit there was a sign up due to the quality of oranges, it would not be fresh squeezed. Honestly, I appreciate that - they want to serve the best OJ and that says a lot about the business. Highly recommend the Bayou Eggs Benedict - Benny's are my fav but the flavors in this Cajun twist is awesome. This a a tough one. After passing by here many, many times we finally stopped by for lunch with friends. CSF was crunchy and tender with plenty of gravy and the GBs were like grandma would make. Hubby got a breakfast combo which he also liked. Bacon was really good. My initial ' not so clean' impression was nixed by the workers who diligently wiped surfaces. Now here's the bad.... About an hour after leaving, I got really nauseous. Wish I could give .5 stars because this visit honestly deserved 3.5 stars. Finally made our way to the bee location, parking was easy despite arriving just before noon. I had the chicken pot pie special and my mom had the chicken fried steak. Both were delicious and my pot pie was steaming hot....however that was the extent of the warm food that we received. Both of my sides tasted amazing (the green beans and Mac n cheese) but were barely above room temperature and the same for my mom's entire plate ( cfs, green beans and French fries). I was nervous when I saw the sign that said the health inspection is available by request, but I didn't see anything visibly wrong with the diner.
