Service and food above average. I suggest very strongly the breakfast tacos. Pancakes and waffles are exceptional.

Gotta great vibe like a 50's diner and a country cafe had a love child that likes flannel, black coffee, and eggs. Service was friendly but not overly involved. Every time my cup was empty they magically appeared to fill it. They just showed up right at the time I needed something but did not ask about my mom and then which I greatly appreciated. We had the bacon cheddar fries and they came with ranch and chipotle ranch both made in house and they were great! Chipotle ranch has a little kick but we both liked it. My wife got the Ragin Cajun Club and could only eat 1/4 of it because of the abundant portion sizes. She also got onion rings that went great with the ranch. I got the Cajun Pork Chop and it might have been the greatest dish I've ever eaten. It's served on a helping of the cheddar grits with andouille gravy and creole fried eggs. It's like an explosion of savory Cajun goodness with every bite. The right amount of spice. Runny yokes with the gravy and grits and a bite of lightly breaded pork chop. If I have to complaint jts that it's a bone in pork chop. But as you can see from the picture I all but gnawed the bone. read more

This was a miss for me . Has all the elements to be a unique fun diner experience but didn't deliver . Came to check out their vegan Vera Cruz Benny breakfast plate ..Marinated seared tofu , masa cakes , avo , ranchero sauce . Lacked flavor and spice , even after throwing Chipotle hot sauce on it not much flavor . I'm super appreciative of any restaurant adding vegan item to their menu but if you're gonna do it , do it well. The fruit side I ordered was horrible , kiwis going bad . Iced tea was good . Warning if you sit outdoors the flies come out in full force . Ugh. My server was incredible and so so nice , happily removed fruit from my bill . They were pretty short staffed for a normal breakfast rush hour and the restaurant is in need of some deep cleaning . Water on the floor in multiple areas , a mop and bucket smack dab in front for all to see , bathrooms needed love , etc etc . I tried it and no reason to come back . Meh read more

We stopped by Vickery Café in Fort Worth for brunch and had a really nice experience. I ordered the Breakfast Monte Cristo, and it was delicious. The bread reminded me of French toast, and the combination of the salty ham with the Swiss cheese made the sandwich feel really well balanced. It came with raspberry jam, but I personally wasn't crazy about it as it didn't add the sweetness I expected. Honestly though, the sandwich was really good I enjoyed it without the jam. My fiancé ordered the cheeseburger, which was well seasoned, and the fries were also nicely seasoned and fresh. Overall, we both really enjoyed our brunch and would definitely come back. read more

Sunday was a busy day at the Cafe. However, they get people in and out pretty fast. Of course you have the occasion friend group that is meeting and taking an hour or so for the table of 6. But what do you do? I had the eggs, bacon, sausage and biscuits. It was your average breakfast order. But when I watched the other plates go out, I know that I will go back. The eggs Benedict looked amazing as well as the Texas shape Waffle. read more

We absolutely loved this place! They did a great job accommodating all our requests and the food was delicious. Our waitress was kind and attentive. I asked if the migas could have tofu, as I'm a vegetarian, and they did it no questions and even changed out the refried beans (made with pork fat) to black beans. It was pretty busy and the tables were close together, but it was well worth it! read more

Went in early on a Saturday morning and sat at the bar. Was greeted quickly. My server was super friendly and answered all my questions and gave me great recommendations - I'm kicking myself for not remembering her name! The orange juice is fresh, and sooooo good!! I go the machaca eggs Benedict and loved it. The corn cakes were the perfect base with the brisket. And the hollandaise sauce had a little kick to it but not super spicy. The home fries were also extra tasty. Had a great experience and will definitely be back!!! read more

The place was pretty busy when I walked in so I couldn't capture really the seating area but I would recommend trying to get a reserv on a booth if possible!! I was luckily a party of one and think it was for the best because I got sat at the counter and got my order taken right away! She always made sure I had full cup of coffee every time, very attentive! I will suggest counter seats should be a little more spread out I think especially if there is a different party sitting next to one another. The server was very kind and shoutout to Bob who was quick and smooth with the plates as he was serving them next to me I was pretty impressed! There's an entire parking lot outside and in what seems to be a plaza. I got the Greek omelette with a side of bacon. Will be coming back to try something else for sure. read more

Something magical happens everyday in Fort Worth at 7am and lasts until 2pm. That magic happens in the kitchen at Vickery Cafe. They produce some of the best breakfast cooking I have had in Fort Worth. And to add to the experience it is served up by some great people who work there. In fact, these people go way out of their way to make sure you are happy. For example, while I waited for my to go order, I had no less than three employees make sure I was taken care of and ask if I needed anything. Review #2126 read more

Well we have never been here and my husband absolutely loved the service! We didn't wait long for a table and his coffee never got empty. They were very friendly and polite with several people greeting us. We ordered and enjoyed the shushed conversations around us and the fact that our food came out quickly. This is very fast paced and they are very on top of things. Loved the friendly atmosphere and hospitality that was shown to us! read more

This was my first time at Vickery Cafe! It has cozy diner vibes and plenty of parking, which is a definitely a plus on west seventh! I met some girlfriends here for lunch at 9:30 on a Saturday and were seated right away. Our server was friendly and attentive throughout the morning. We all ordered bottomless coffee and I selected the French toast with a side of hash browns. The French toast was standout and I would definitely recommend it. Ordered the stockyard omelette and you are certainly getting great quality for your money. Went here for breakfast before hiking at mineral wells. The omelette was cooked to perfection and this place gets ready busy around 10-11. I suggest you visit early. The seating isn't the best but it's comfortable for breakfast. read more

This fits the bill of a small "hole in the wall" place. Overall the whole experience was very mehhh. We were instantly greeted and sat, no wait at 11:30am Saturday, which was nice. Our waiter was giving off a weird vibe, maybe hungover, maybe not wanting to be there, not sure. We sat down and he was immediately like "ok, what can I get for you to eat"..... can I have more than 10 seconds? It was more of the way he said it and the energy he was giving off. I got the breakfast special with French toast, bacon, and hashbrowns. Everything was fantastic!!! 10/10. My husband got the migas, hashbrowns, and a biscuit with sausage gravy. Biscuit was dry, gravy was lukewarm and meh. The migas didn't have much flavor and maybe a 2/5 stars for him. When we were done, we sat there for 10 minutes while our waiter was eating at the bar and then just sat there for another 5 minutes to chat with other staff. He finally came over, gave us the check and we got outta there. Like I said, the whole thing was mehhh. The only redeeming factor was my breakfast. For the price and overall experience, I don't think we will go back. read more

Vickery Cafe is a solid greasy spoon diner with great service with a real down home feel. Stopped in for breakfast today. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. Coffee was better than most greasy spoon diner. Had the Cajun Omelette with grits and the Texas Ranch-hand Breakfast. The omelette was great and had great flavor. Unfortunately the grits were cold. The Ranch-hand breakfast had scrambled eggs that were cooked perfectly. Unfortunately the hash browns were also cold. Which told me the sides were cooked first and set up on the plate before the main entree. There are good spots on this place that makes me want to try this place again. read more

I've been here several times over the last year and the food is pretty good. They have several items that they add their own unique twist too. I have tried multiple items on the menu and have never had anything that wasn't good. The service is hit and miss. On the weekends they are packed and the service is pretty good. I went recently on a weekday and it was horrible, like took 20 minutes to get a coffee refill horrible and they were nearly dead. The restaurant is tiny and if you go when it's busy you will basically be rubbing elbows with the strangers sitting next to you. They have recently added a few booths when you first walk in which does help. The prices over the last year have went up considerably which in the future will ultimately put them at the bottom of our pick list. It's good, but not that good. My last visit I had a stack of three pancakes and coffee. No meat or side, just pancakes. The total before tip was $17. read more

This place was so hard to find. But once we arrived, we were able to find a seat pretty quick. It's a small area, but quaint. The food was superb! Classic breakfast that was fast and filling. We didn't get out until around 11am, so it was pretty crowded when we arrived. The space is giving upscale cafe maybe? I stayed at the bar top since there wasn't much space to explore, but I can return another day for that. The service was friendly and did I say fast. Just good wholesome comfort food. read more

This review is for the new 7th St location. The restaurant was a bit tricky to find, as it's tucked into a residential/shopping/business area off 7th Street and it looks like one may have to valet park. I live downtown, so I took the #2 bus which dropped me off across the street, so I can't attest to whether the parking is a hassle or not. The first thing I noticed is that there wasn't the classic bacon and eggs breakfast--2 eggs, a meat, and a bread. I asked about it, and the waitress said they have it but it's not shown on the menu. I asked for the price, and she said she would check. I saw her punching things into the register and she came back with the figure of $12. I asked if she had to enter the items ala carte, but she didn't give me a direct answer. I ordered 2 pancakes special with choice of meat and what was supposed to be 2 eggs. $11.50. The pancakes were delicious. The egg was okay but it seemed like just one egg. The sausage was one 3 inch very thin piece. Coffee was good and the waitress refilled my cup several times. Summary: I don't think I got a good value for the money paid. Portion sizes seemed to be for someone on a diet, with the exception of the pancakes. It was $20 with tip for breakfast. Will I go back? Possibly. I like the location since I'm using public transportation and I was able to walk back to my downtown condo. Perhaps I'll just order the pancakes next time. read more

This is a regular spot when in a pinch. Always great service in a small, cute diner. Melissa is out favorite service and is always on point with her fun attitude and prompt attention. Coffee is always great and OJ is fresh squeeze but this last visit there was a sign up due to the quality of oranges, it would not be fresh squeezed. Honestly, I appreciate that - they want to serve the best OJ and that says a lot about the business. Highly recommend the Bayou Eggs Benedict - Benny's are my fav but the flavors in this Cajun twist is awesome. They make them on jalapeno corn cakes and this makes them have that sweet and savory flavor that I love! Pancakes are always thick and fluffy but their French toast is so damn good. Made fresh with brioche bread - the thickets, most delicious French toast! read more

This a a tough one. After passing by here many, many times we finally stopped by for lunch with friends. Initially, I was skeptical as it didn't look very clean, but it's always packed, so we decided to give it a shot. Service was good and kinda snarky like any good diner should be. I had been craving a chicken fried steak, so I got that with mashed potatoes and green beans. EVERYTHING was really, really good. CSF was crunchy and tender with plenty of gravy and the GBs were like grandma would make. Hubby got a breakfast combo which he also liked. Bacon was really good. My initial ' not so clean' impression was nixed by the workers who diligently wiped surfaces. Now here's the bad.... About an hour after leaving, I got really nauseous. I hadn't had anything but coffee and a granola bar earlier so if it was food related, it was this food. I continued to feel bad the ready of the day/evening, but maybe I just ate too much cause I cleaned that plate! IDK?? read more

This is by far the best French toast I've had in years. It's clear that the bread was soaked in a good egg wash resulting in a delicious spongy masterpiece. The bacon was crispy, but not burnt. The eggs were seasoned and cooked thoroughly. I couldn't ask for a better breakfast. I was nervous when I saw the sign that said the health inspection is available by request, but I didn't see anything visibly wrong with the diner. I looked at the health inspection from April 2022 online...hear me out. There were a lot of violations, but the food is good and I still feel fine days after my meal. read more

Wish I could give .5 stars because this visit honestly deserved 3.5 stars. Finally made our way to the bee location, parking was easy despite arriving just before noon. I had the chicken pot pie special and my mom had the chicken fried steak. Both were delicious and my pot pie was steaming hot....however that was the extent of the warm food that we received. Both of my sides tasted amazing (the green beans and Mac n cheese) but were barely above room temperature and the same for my mom's entire plate ( cfs, green beans and French fries). Will certainly be back as we loved the old location and tasted the amazing flavor today. Hoping it was just a bad day in the kitchen. read more

This place is not what it use to be. For years when it was on Vickery it was a great place with terrific food. Now it is sub par at best on a good day and cramped like a NY subway. Food was blah. My quesadilla was ok/good but friend's tortilla soup was thiiick like paste. Her salad was overstuffed and got gloopy looking as she added dressing. Fort Worth gem! We ventured outside of downtown and found this restaurant with an old school diner vibe, great food and amazing service.

I ordered the Creole Scramble which was extremely delicious. The Hollandaise sauce on top of the scrambled eggs was a tasty combination. The only veggies I noticed were the green onions on top. The sausage was a nice change of pace to the standard breakfast meats. As for the jalapeño corn cakes, I made sure to eat every morsel. Too bad they are not a breakfast side option available with the other menu items. They are definitely better than the typical buttermilk pancakes server elsewhere. Also, I greatly enjoyed the coffee. Combined with the cream, I was chugging it down. My waitress described it as if I was doing shots. Fortunately, she made sure I only saw the bottom of the mug once. read more

Has become my favorite breakfast place. Only issue was on Saturday their computer was down so they had to take orders the old fashion way, write it a pad ant give to cook. The whole wait staff was lost. Difficult for they to get the food and deliver to customer. Owner was trying to keep it going. Perfect view of how the moral dropped and they were listening over one negative thing. The customers suffered for this. read more
