This charming small Cafe in River Oaks is pretty great. The menu is vast and almost labyrinthine, with options ranging from simple comfort foods like Chicken Fried Steak to Mexican dishes to burgers and on and on. The food is good, the service is friendly, and the decor is simple and homey. Highly recommend.

    Southern breakfast. Everything was amazing.

We enjoyed everything including the friendly service. The food was good. The coffee was good. Sausage was tasty. Come and enjoy.

First time to dine here and it was lunchtime but they serve breakfast all day so I couldn't resist going for a breakfast dish. I had the southern one, three eggs, over medium, bacon, link sausage, biscuit and regular gravy on the side. Eggs were cooked perfectly, bacon was crispy, just how I like it, hash browns soft and crisp, pillowy biscuit and tasty gravy. The sausage was overcooked, but they gave me four pieces of crispy bacon so I didn't complain. Service was good and I took what I couldn't eat home for my cats. Meow. LOL!

The food was good and the price was good too. I think the service was outstanding. Our waitress Tania was so nice. I would recommend it

Front room seating, nice and light.

Tried to post to show the front room too but it wasn't working. Generous portions and we still managed to eat most of it!

Every time my cup was empty they magically appeared to fill it. They just showed up right at the time I needed something but did not ask about my mom and then which I greatly appreciated. We had the bacon cheddar fries and they came with ranch and chipotle ranch both made in house and they were great! Chipotle ranch has a little kick but we both liked it. My wife got the Ragin Cajun Club and could only eat 1/4 of it because of the abundant portion sizes. She also got onion rings that went great with the ranch. I got the Cajun Pork Chop and it might have been the greatest dish I've ever eaten. It's served on a helping of the cheddar grits with andouille gravy and creole fried eggs. It's like an explosion of savory Cajun goodness with every bite. The right amount of spice. Runny yokes with the gravy and grits and a bite of lightly breaded pork chop. If I have to complaint jts that it's a bone in pork chop. But as you can see from the picture I all but gnawed the bone.

I had been there once before back in 2016, though I do not remember if it was this location or another one, and I do not remember what I ordered then. In any case, it was nice to go back and try it again. This time, I ordered the TX Hot Chik'n. The sandwich was crispy and flavorful, with a good mix of BBQ and buffalo sauce. The pickles, lettuce, mayo, and sesame bun all worked well together, and it was filling without feeling too heavy. My friend ordered the Jamaican Jerk San'ich and enjoyed it. It had bold seasoning and a good savory flavor, so it was a solid choice if you want something with a little more spice and personality. The "Jerk" spelled with mayo on the bun and the backwards "R" was a cute touch. Overall, Spiral Diner had a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, and it is a good lunch spot in Fort Worth whether you are vegan or just interested in trying plant-based comfort food. I was happy to have had the chance to go back and hopefully will be able to return more frequently whenever I am in town.

My late grandmother was a superb country cook and her name was Maggie. Good omen! We got there about 11:45 and got a table right away. Our server was Devin and she was terrific. What I really liked about it was - it was not over-breaded and it was fork-tender. (in my humble opinion, too many places are giving you a lot more breading that doesn't have meat under it. Yes, it's a first-world problem.) The mashed potatoes were also quite good, along with the cream gravy. I'm not a huge green bean fan, but my wife really liked them. We ordered nachos as an appetizer to split, along with two beers and a kids meal. What arrived was Motley Crue waking from a drug binge, raiding the pantry and trash, then declaring "let's do it." What was supposed to be nachos was anything but. The only explanation is someone who had never seen nachos tried to recreate them after hearing a rumor from someone at a Lowe's parking lot. The "chips" were not tortilla chips. They were rectangular strips of pale, flimsy material that looked like scraps of drywall film pulled out of a new construction site. An albino drywall experiment that somehow escaped the kitchen and landed on a plate. The entire thing was covered in barbecue sauce, with some mystery white liquid poured over the top. We assume it was supposed to be queso, but it definitely was not queso. Calling it queso feels disrespectful to actual queso. We ate maybe a quarter of it and decided we needed to leave before things got worse. Six hours later, we received an unannounced encore performance in the bathroom. I would avoid this place like a plague outbreak--unless you have an upcoming colonoscopy and want to skip the bowel prep.
