I used to love coming here, but i hadn't been in a while so I thought I would try it again. But this time it seems that they changed their menu and the quality of the food. I used to always get the biscuit and gravy because they had homemade biscuits, but now they have those pre made ones.. which mine had seemed like it had been sitting out for a while because of how hard it was. then the home fries weren't even cooked and they were cold. also, the place was pretty disgusting! there were so many dirty tables, a lot of food on the ground... and THE AMOUNT OF FLIES was unreal. I'm really sad this place isn't like it used to be. but i will forever remember how good the french toast is! read more

Back in November, 2024, did a review of the Elk Diner and rated them somewhat lower due to some billing issues. We moved to another diner in Burleson and it was decent, but had a hard time when more than 6 of us were in attendance - hard to carry on conversations, etc, so we opted to move back to the Elk Diner and it has been wonderful! We have our own room to meet in and the food, if possible, has improved and the cost, well the cost is pretty much the same regardless of where you go, but the service and food is excellent! Glad we were welcomed back and we plan to stay until the cows come home! We greet others, who aren't even in our group, good morning and all in all, we couldn't be happier. To be honest, I would put the food and service up against any other place in the Burleson/Crowley area - you won't go wrong at the Elk! read more

Husband and I went to check this local place out. We loved the service the staff was very friendly and attentive. The wait for our food was not long at all everything came out in a timely manner. The only reason we don't give this place a 4 star is because Rita a little old and smells like it, the ambient is family friendly. The food is tasty but nothing outstanding. Overall, we would definitely recommend if your a local who doesn't feel like cooking at home. read more

I've always liked Elks Diner. I hadn't been in quite some time but I took our kids recently and it was as good as ever. The staff it very friendly and the portions are huge! Especially the funny face pancake. It feels very much like an old school diner. read more

Nice little cafe with pretty good food and prices. The food is normally fast,hot and good only one time did they forget to come take my order and left us sitting for 20 minutes. I have to say this was the worst place I've ever eaten breakfast in my entire life. The food came out cold. The hashbrowns were crispy on the outside, and white mush on the inside. The only thing I was able to eat, was the two slices of bacon and the toast you would have thought the waitress would have asked why did we leave so much food on our plates but she didn't I will never go back. read more

This was my first time here. I had the pork chop breakfast which came with eggs and hashbrowns, my daughter had blueberry waffles, and my granddaughter had the silly face pancakes. The pork chop was good, but the hashbrowns were a little disappointing. They were too crispy for my taste. Everything else was great and the service was awesome!Our waitress was amazing - very friendly and helpful and made us feel right at ease. The food came out quickly so everything was nice and hot when we got it. When I mentioned to her how cute I thought my coffee cup was, she told me I could have it, to just bring one back to replace it. How sweet was that?! A nice old-fashioned American diner. Well I am delighted! Got to Burleson early for a closing and wanted an old fashioned breakfast. Elk's Diner just popped into my view. Kind and helpful waitresses!! Stopped by this morning as a last resort because it seemed like every other breakfast place in town was jam packed, and I didn't want to wait! This turned out to be a cute local place. I tried the french toast and a sausage hash, and both were really good. The french toast was soaked through with egg and it had a custard-like texture to it which was really enjoyable. The hash had a lot of flavor and the veggies in it (onion, bell pepper) were fresh and cooked just right. I thought the service was great, especially since it was a holiday. Laura was very attentive and checked on me several times. Tables were waited and cleared in a reasonable amount of time for the crowd. I would have no problem coming back for breakfast again, or to try the rest of the menu. read more

We absolutely love this neighborhood gem in Burleson. The food and service is great and fast! And there is never a wait longer than 5-10 minutes on weekends. Giant omelettes. Juicy burgers. I mean you have to love the fact you get called "Honey" every time you walk in the door. read more

Tried this hole in the wall spot Sunday morning and had no issues. I read over the other reviews and my experience was vastly different. Had no issue getting a table. I did note a few tables hadn't been cleaned. Waitress came and got our drink order within a few minutes - the sweet tea was good. After taking our order, the food was out in what seemed like about ten minutes. I got an omelette. No issues with it. It was tasty. Actually good. The biscuit wasn't that great. The waitress did her job. No issues with her. I could see if the place were packed, service would diminish. Expect to spend $10-$12 per person. read more

I'm not going to complain that we needed to seat ourselves because many cafés and diners do that. However, I'm giving Elk's Diner a low rating because the food just didn't meet standards. The coffee was weak, the biscuits were thin and gravy was watery. It had the consistency of milk with black pepper in it. The eggs ordered over easy had been cooked in a pan too hard which scorched them all the way around and the sausage was lukewarm at best and also not properly cook. The wait staff were very kind but unable to fill the coffee cups without splashing coffee on the table each time. read more

Elk's Diner is an old fashioned restaurant. They bring your drinks out in the old huge red coca-cola cups filled to the brim with old fashioned ice and your drink choice. My husband wnjoyed biscuits and gravy. He loves the long lived recipe of white peppered gravy. The biscuits were a little crumbly which worked great for him because he pulls them apart and pours the gravy on top and eats with a fork. I got the home style potatoes without the peppers and onion and they were good. The bacon was cooked to perfection. They were out of pie and that's what I really wanted. Overall for me it was a good meal not my favorite but the restaurant was packed when we went, so many people adore this hole in the wall vintage restaurant. If old fashioned breakfast is what you want, then this is the place for you. read more

Best home cooked, country breakfast in town. We go every weekend. Specials every morning and sometimes you have to wait for a table. Lunch & dinner are great too, chicken fried steak, homemade veggies, and other comfort foods. It's a seat yourself kinda place, smile and wave at the waitstaff when you come in and they'll get right to ya. If you come in with a city attitude expect to get one back. Stopped by today for lunch. Only a few customers at three or four tables. Seated myself and had menu and order taken in mere minutes, by a very friendly waitress. Food arrived in a very reasonable amount of time, fried catfish filet, fried okra and green beans. Everything was piping hot and tasty. Elks Diner is a little home town cozy restaurant where most everyone knows each other. The staff is friendly and very busy. We were able to get right in with having to really wait, which is good. Service was not bad on timing, drinks and food order. Our waitress was very nice lady. The food was good. It was like have home cooked breakfast. I had the Country Omelette and my wife had The Open Face Scrambled. The portions was very generous and feeling. Food was not cooked properly, and the staff was incredibly rude when we first walked in she yelled across the diner "just sit any where it's seat yourself" they should post a sign instead of yelling at you across the diner and the same waitress who yelled at us took our order she did not refill my coffee or my wife's coffee at all they were not even busy we went on a Sunday 2 hours before church let out we have put elk diner on a 6 month probation we will try them again in 6 months before we completely ban them Good luck If you go I suggest if you get a burger or chicken breast cut it in half before you eat it read more

Great little place! Got the migas and almond crusted french toast. The strawberries on top were fresh- not canned- as well as the rest of the ingredients. The migas were really good, the side has browns were alright, but the french toast was INCREDIBLE! Plus service was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Must go! read more

This place is pretty good but we prefer Our Place. They do a decent job here and we enjoy frequenting local mom and pop diners like this but the quality just isn't off the charts like Our Place. They do have really good food though and the pies are great. read more

My friend told me about this place so me and my woman decided to give a try.we ordered the western omelette with hash browns and a biscuit and gravy.i would say its good but not great.
