Came here for date night. We got here early so plenty of parking and not busy for a Sunday night. The decor was interesting to look at, but I got caught up in Sunday night football. I ordered a mornin after drink and that was pretty good. My husband and I shared the renfro queso which was okay at first, but then we stirred in the corn and was spectacular. I also liked their homemade potato chips that came with it. I ordered the cheesy chicken poblano and it was wonderful. My husband got the Surf and turf and ate every last bite! Was in town for a casual wedding reception that only served appetizers. But poppa gotta eat!! The restaurant is located in the tallest and coolest looking building near the 35.. the vibe inside was mixed but the place was clean and looked great. Our server was very attentive and answered questions on the menu. I chose the pastrami sandwich (what's up Katz), which came with fresh chips and not fries, which in the UK are fries.. but I digress... the sandwich was outstanding, in flavor, construction and size. Such a beautiful restaurant inside. The big tufted leather couches and chairs are comfy and give such a rich feeling to the dining room. The decor is eclectic, guitars and memorabilia on the walls with brown and turquoise accents. The service was excellent, our waitress had someone shadowing her and they both did such an amazing job. They were very attentive but also read social cues when we were having conversations. 3 alcoholic beverages and a meal ran me $68 with a 20% tip. I ordered a classic Bloody Mary, Dahlia, Marilyn Monroe, fried mushrooms, and the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and corn chowder. The drinks were all strong and pretty good. The Marilyn Monroe would be better if there were not so many raspberry seeds! The food was delicious and huge. Definitely took most of it home. The wait staff was excellent, but the meal was horrible. We ordered the pot roast, with no gravy, the green beans were severely over cooked and the potato's were cold. The delicious food was exquisitely presented in a warm and happy ambiance. Our waiter, Montief D., wasn't too friendly and not attentive to our needs. We were a 6 top table but the restaurant wasn't crowded at all. The waitstaff issue was the only area that could've been improved on. I'd highly suggest further training on people skills when an employee will be on the serving end of your establishment. A waiter/waitress can make or break your business. Made reservations for a big group and the table was ready whenever we got there! The place is very decorated. Oh and the restrooms are clean and different. Female and male share washing facilities! Their menu is a big variety. We order cornbread for an appetizer!! Delicious, warm and buttery! Pepperoni pizza was good, very cheesy. Fish and chips, the fries are the bomb and the cod was really good! Also got the rim breakfast. I'm a French toast person and I wasn't a fan for theirs, it was different. The breakfast potatoes were delicious. Mom got the pot roast and it came out cold she had to return it and get reheated! Family also got the burger and omelette which looked tasty! Giving it 4 stars for only 2 reasons. 1. The service was really good. The waiter was very attentive. 2. I loved the ambiance. The guitar lounge was my favorite. The food wasn't the greatest so a docked 1 star. The pot roast was really salty as was the green beans and carrots. Had to offset it with mashed potatoes. Some of the meat was really tough so wasn't too happy with the meal. The tea tasted old as well. The dessert was good. My husband and I shared the peach cobbler. Probably wouldn't return for the food but definitely a good place to hang & drink. read more

Everything about the rim is excellent! Our server, Tiffany, was beyond superb; she was not only on top of our service and maintaining her area of tables, but also able to train the guy shadowing her. She was friendly and patient with us and managed quickly and efficiently. The food was terrific as always; no matter what I chose, it was amazing. However, I wasn't able to get a FROZEN Margarita, but the few I did get were still good. The ambiance was just as amazing, although the gap between the cushion of the set and the back was wide enough for my aunt's purse to fall through. We went to the Rim on Sunday after the rodeo in Arlington. I'm glad we stopped in. The ambiance is really cool. Loved all of the decor. The servers were very laid back, seemed like there were lots of regulars, which I liked. I ordered the cheesy poblano chicken that our server suggested. It was cooked well. He also recommended brussels sprouts as my side. My husband and I both agreed we should've just had that, because they were amazing! My husband ordered the jalapeño burger, with sweet potato fries. Tried this place again after about a year, nothing has changed. Ordered a beer and it was filled to the top. It was spilled on the table and my phone when it was sat down. No offer to clean it up. Picked it up and put a coaster on it and walked away. The entire glass all the way around had head running down it all over the table. Got the spinach artichoke dip. Flatbread pieces were like dry crackers, the chips weren't fried properly so some were chewy. Artichoke dip itself was pretty bland and had a weird yellow tint to it. Still puzzled about what that's from. Had the What's up Katz? Which I assume is a play on the Katz deli pastrami sandwich. First of all, the audacity that you would reference Katz with such a mid sandwich is crazy. Pastrami was dry and chewy, onions were sweated not caramelized. The bread was this weird consistency of like toasted but not really. It was still fully soft with one small 1" lightly browned area. Stoneground mustard instead of brown.. I mean I guess. Asked for a side salad instead of chips. Plate comes, it has the chips anyway, and a side salad. I guess neither the kitchen or the waitress put 2 and 2 together on that one. Salad was gross, brown lettuce, cucumbers that were old and changing colors even going clear in parts because they were turning, tomatoes with wrinkled skin because they were turning. Ate the meat out of half the sandwich and called it a day. Had to use a fork on the pastrami. Also if you're going to call it a pastrami and turkey don't put 2 slices of dry chewy pastrami on there and the rest be the cheap turkey. Also.. change the name, you're not at the level to be calling out Katz on the menu. Wife got a burger with no bun. Bacon was thick and fatty and not cooked through. She also got the side salad instead of chips, and also received chips. Salad was also gross and she refused to eat it. Mid meal when I was about half done with my beer I asked for another one. Waitress walked off. Wife looked at me and looked at her cider which was completely empty and was like "well I guess none for me". She should have asked, but then again so should the waitress. Long story short this place needs to drop the pretentious act. With your staff, with your service, and most definitely with your menu. Start cooking good food for once, then you can act pretentious. The only reason we visited this place tonight, and what I assume is the reason for the majority of their business is there are very few good places to eat in Burleson. On a Tuesday evening I don't want to drive to FW to get a decent meal. But if it's any indicator there were maybe 6 tables sat in the entire place. Which is weird as we were asked 3 times if we were ready to order before we were actually ready. So to recap; sandwich, burger, son had catfish and fries (he didn't seem to enjoy it) 2 ciders, 2 beers, spinach artichoke dip. $150 with a 20% tip (we were unhappy, but people still have to make a living). Just seems like a waste. For the price and what we ordered it's just a waste of money. You could have a nice dinner anywhere in the FW area or surrounding areas with actual entrees that were prepared well for around the same price, maybe $25-50 more. Great atmosphere!! Love the vibe and the music. TVs are around incase you wanna watch a game. BEWARE the portions are pretty large. Husband got jambalaya and enjoyed it, I started with the spinach salad which was really good! Had the Diablo pizza which I was disappointed in. Not much flavor and on pita bread which was too much bread. Daughter got the chicken fried steak which was delicious but large!!! Corn chowder, yum. The spinach artichoke dip was good but not my favorite. Homemade chips were really good. Also tried the fried green tomatoes which you can order as a meal! Absolute 5/5 star experience! We were in town visiting family and decided to try The Rim because it's close to the movie theater we were going to. Rhonda was our server. She provided friendly, attentive, and quick service. We told her we were first timers and she gave us her favorites. We enjoyed the spinach and artichoke dip as our appetizer and fell in LOVE. They make their chips in house and it comes with huge pieces of flatbread. Talk about YUM! Some dips tend to be overly salty but that was not the case with this one. I could've eaten 3 more. We had the Zana's Cosmo and Plum Old Fashioned. Both were delicious and well balanced. For our meals, we enjoyed the Redfish and Chicken Fried Steak. These were recommended by Rhonda and did not disappoint. The Chicken Fried Steak was HUGE and the corn chowder and buttered mashed potatoes were incredible. They were both buttery and flavorful. The Redfish was well seasoned and packed with flavor. My fiancé said it was the best fish he'd ever had. Overall, I highly recommend The Rim as an underrated gem of Burleson. The place is very cool on the inside, decorated with guitars and even an airstream kitchen. The bar is large and in the center of the restaurant with a decent amount of tables around. We were sat quickly and our server took our drink order. The menu is extensive and the prices were steep on a lot of the food items. We ordered queso for an appetizer, which comes with their homemade chips. I ordered the Texas Cobb salad and my friend ordered a pizza. The food tasted good and our server was nice, but was trying to rush us out which isn't enjoyable. This was definitely not my typical place to go to in town, and I'll probably stick to other places than return. read more

So disappointed. My husband and I have been going to The Rim since we moved back to this area in 2018. Recently the food has really gone downhill. I just paid for the worst pizza I've ever had in my life. It wasn't cooked all the way through, the tomatoes were pink with no flavor. There was very little basil on its, just absolutely no flavor at all. We ordered it to go, so of course until we got home to eat it. It was too late to realize how bad it looked. Made a reservation for my two daughters and I. Showed up and was seated, but the table wasn't even stable--it was walking back and forth, and it wasn't even cleaned. The waitress gave some disappointed looks because of my young daughters. She looked like she was discriminating against my family, just because they aren't older in age. It felt very biased. We ordered two appetizers: the spinach-artichoke dip and the crispy chicken wings. They were excellent. But after that, our experience went downhill. The Kyho Tacos had store-bought tortillas, and it was nasty. We took off the cheese, but either way it wouldn't have been worth the price for $15. The Chicken Fried Steak was also lower than our expectations. It was too tough, and the gravy caused the breading to fall off the meat. The Pot Roast... it tasted like it was two days old. It was hard, had no flavor, and came out cold. The sides were better than the actual meal. In conclusion, the Kyho Tacos tasted like Roach Coach. The Chicken Fried Steak... more like Chicken Fried Breading. My Pot Roast takes the cake, though! It tasted like roadkill!!! All of that, and I had to make reservations. Huge piece of just fat included otherwise I would have given a 9. The collard greens were solid 8.5 out of 10 and had a kick to them. The green beans were a 2 out of 10. I went with a group a friends for the first time tonight. Our server was great. The food on the other hand was terrible. The pizza was disgusting. My friends food came out cold. When the manager came to talk to us about out food he was more like a parent and felt like we were getting yelled at for their bad food. We will not be going back. read more

This was our first visit here and we had no idea what to expect. From the outside it just looks like any other American eatery with a bar. Goin inside, it was a very neat environment. A lot of decoration of various collections, a LOT of it overhead, you have to look up to see a lot of it. I seemed the areas had a set type of colletions, like one area was all mannequins, one was all about Marylin Monroe, another was a rustic hunting type of deco, stuff like that. The seating areas had a consistent patten tho, where blue seats and cushions, old worn leather, and dark wood is the furniture theme. Overall, it seems a mix of 1950's furniture mixed with a cigar lounge leather ambience, may be explained oddly, but it really works and is nice. As mention, blue seems to be the main them, there is a lot of blue mixed in, even the water bottle that the water is service in is a clear muted blue. It's fun. One thing that really stands out is the kitchen area, it's inside of an Airstream camper with the back cut out for access. The food is served through the open windows facing the restaurant. It was very cool! The staff was friendly and kind. They didn't seem to be in a hurry even as busy as it was. Mostly a bit chatty. We only dealt with our server, we never had an experience with any others nor any managers making rounds to see how patrons were doing. The food, it was very good. I do remember that, what we ordered, I honestly can't recall the names. My wife had a sandwich that had roast beef, ham, and turkey on it. I expected that to be bigger based on the name it had, tho it seemed small, however it did have a lot of meat on it. The gravy it say it comes with, to me, wasn't gravy, it was more of a very flavored ketchup, with chili powder, chipotle flavoring, and possibly some cumin, ... I can't verify the seasonings. All I know is it was tasty and a bit zesty, but it wasn't runny and flowing like a gravy is. The burger I had was a jalapeño burger, it's the only one on the menu. Now, it was good, but, the only thing that makes it a jalapeño burger is the roasted whole jalapeño that's placed on top. This one doesn't have the pepper sliced up and added, it's just one pepper added to the top under the bun and held in with a long tooth pick. It did have bacon and an egg on it as well. It had me at bacon and egg. Despite having to cut the pepper, it was very good and juicy. The fries it comes with were good. It's a small sampling, don't expect a lot if you get any. Tho they were a bit thick, not as big as steak fries, but they were soft inside and crispy outside which is how I like them. Overall, a good experience. The music was a bit loud. We had a TV right in front of us that for some reason could only display a screensaver, we asked to put the game on, but they said it wasn't working. Those were the only negatives that we had. Seating was comfortable, the booths are old 50's diner style half circles with a lot cushioning, staff was great, food was good. We will definitely return and try some more of the menu items. read more

I ordered GRILLED RATATOUILLE PLATE with the added Salmon. It should have had a whole grilled portabella. The 1st meal the waitress brought out wasn't even close. It had mashed potatoes. The next meal she brought out, I looked at it and asked were is the Portabella? She points at to charred scraps and says "there" the pieces she pointed at looked like something they took of someone discarded plate that had been grilled a second time. I have had this before. Went to the Rim for happy hour. Best decision ever. The walls are retro and the food is modern. The staff was very friendly. The manager even came over a couple of times to check on us. The happy hour specials are great but you don't even need them because the regular prices are good. You have to try the bacon wrapped pretzel and the Diablo pizza was maybe the best pizza I've ever had. It was wood fired and the steak on it was everything!!! I would definitely recommend a visit!! Solid place. Came in and sat at the bar for dinner (freezing by the door, probably only real complaint). Friendly service from Kenny the bartender. Pretty good draft beer selection, although no whiskeys really caught my eye other than a taterific Blantons on the bar I spotted later on. Ordered the salmon with chimichurri over grilled vegetables. Pretty pricey but in line for a place like this. Tasted great though I was pretty impressed. Overall pretty loud and festive joint, country music blaring with music videos playing on the tvs all around the bar.
