On Sunday night we went to Cotton Patch in Granbury TX. I ordered the chopped brisket sandwich. The meat was cut in tiny, tiny uniform squares. I have never seen chopped brisket in this form. Come on Cotton Patch, I know you can do better. I will never order this again. so disappointed. The service was OK. This is Texas where a brisket sandwich is a staple on the restaurant menus. Chicken fried chicken with a side of mashed potatoes and green beans. Let me preface this by saying this was a takeout order for an office lunch. The portions were huge. I was able to split mine in half for seconds later, so it's a good value for the money. But I can't really say that I was a fan. This place calls itself a scratch kitchen, but there was nothing scratch about it. The chicken was breaded nicely and pretty crispy, but it had no flavor. Always hits the spot! Came here for a casual dinner and left stuffed and happy. The chicken fried steak was crispy perfection, the mashed potatoes were buttery and smooth, and the rolls? Dangerous -- I could eat a whole basket. Service was super friendly and quick even though they were busy. Love that it feels like good old Southern comfort every time. It's been a while so we thought we'd try it again. This place needs a good manager. There were only about 5 tables I could see and we still waited forever. On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at around 7 p.m., I visited the Burleson, TX location. During my visit, the kitchen's vent system failed, filling the entire restaurant with smoke. I observed two individuals in light blue shirts who appeared to be managers. After waiting nearly an hour, we were informed it would be another 15 minutes. Because I suffer from a breathing disorder, I ultimately had to leave. Unfortunately, no one offered an apology for the smoke or for the significant delay in receiving food. It is a 35-minute drive from my home to this location, and the entire experience ended up lasting over two hours. In the end, I had to return home and make a sandwich. The food was ok, but the service was terrible. We Ordered our food and I got a soda and my wife got a coffee. When we got our bill, we were charged for 2 coffees and a soda. We asked the waitress why the 2 coffees. She told us that every time you get a refill, you are charged for another coffee. We asked to speak to the manager and he said there is no charged for refills. The waitress brought her manager and he backed his waitress. Ordered a couple of burgers and 2 sides through Uber Eats. Only received 1 side and called to advise because the order was $40. Not sure if the app missed the additional veggie, but when I called Cotton Patch, the manager was polite but didn't offer to correct. The price is really negligible, just the principle and dang it, I wanted that squash casserole! Hoping they'll think about whether it was worth it to not offer to make it up. I've loved it here in the past, but today makes me believe this may not be a go to place anymore. We were seated immediately but that's probably the highest compliment I can give. We are used to rolls being offered, after not receiving them I asked and was told by our sever they are "by request". We did get the rolls and our food, which were both decent quality. I had a loaded baked potato as my main entree, I had to ask for additional toppings because the sprinkle on top of the potato, was very minimal. As we were eating I looked to find our server for additional napkins, he was sitting in the booth adjacent to us in the dining area with his shoes off rubbing his feet with his hands. He did wash his hands only to return to his foot massage after bringing napkins to our table. I was going to discuss this troubling behavior to the manager, but I noticed the person who seemed to look like the manager come out to the dining room to talk (socially) with him and another employee while the foot massage continued. All of this, as we had to deal with it being unbearably cold. Over the last 2 years my visits to this location have become minimal, for several reasons, after tonight it may be closer to none. read more

I went back just a few days ago and my experience had not changed one bit! The food was just as good as last time! I ordered the same meal and it was the same if not better, the service was of the highest quality with staff that were extraordinarily polite and listened to everything we said in great detail! The ambiance was splendid and was up to the standards that you would see in the best of the best gourmet restaurants! We eat here quite a bit since it has such a good variety. My son gets chicken strips and fries and it comes w fruit and ice cream. I have had lots of things here but this visit I had the strawberry chicken pecan salad and it was so good. I added extra pecans and the chicken was really good also. read more

My husband ordered meatloaf green beans and mashed potatoes and when the server came with our food they were out of mashed potatoes. The person in charge of inventory needs to be replaced. So after waiting to get our table, we sit down, open up brand new menus and start looking through it. Right away I noticed the price increase on items. But, knowing there is a meat shortage, I figured.... OK. Then my wife slides this little notice (see picture) to me. On top of the new higher prices, cotton patch is adding an in-house TAX of 5% to your ticket. Regardless if you order meat or veggies. Everything is taxed (surcharged) 5%. Confirmed this with the waiter. He hates it because folks get ticked off and dock his tip. As he says " I get $2.13 cents an hour, and folks reduce their tip amount because of the surcharge. Cotton Patch is getting more money and I'm making less" Yea.... we won't be back regardless how good the might be. They burt a bridge with this family. read more

We ordered one of their Thanksgiving boxes and it was really awful. The turkey breast was oddly seasoned and dry. The dressing was bland and mushy. The sweet potatoes were not flavored very well. It was disappointing and we definitely won't be ordering this again. read more

Ok, update from my previous review. GM of Cotton Patch #18 reached out to me in a big way. Assured me that the service received was not the norm and that they would like the chance to try again. So. We went back, our server was very nice and not chosen because we announced we where problem customers ( I just asked if the GM was in and if he could stop by my table when he had a chance). Food was perfect, service was very good, found out the GM started as a server with the company over 13 years ago, says a lot about the company and the quality of its people. 5 stars this time even though it's a chain and not just because I got some free food ( tho it helps). Thank you for caring about your customers and for trying hard to keep them, I did not expect you to do as much as you did. Try and save room for dessert because they are all amazing! Everything could be improved. Dined in on 7/31/2024, placed order waited and waited, not busy with patrons, now I see why. After waiting was told it would be 15 more minutes for part of my order. I did not talk with the manager on this because I was to angry. The waitress was terrible, did not use pen and paper so when the meals (5) came they were all wrong. She was argumentative when I told her it was wrong. I don't eat Mac and cheese, but buddy that is what I got. No gravy on the chicken fired chicken and when I asked for it, I will have to charge you extra for that , really for the gravy that is supposed to come on it anyway. When the checks came not one of them was right and she was again mad at us because she did not write it down to start with. The portions have gotten smaller over time and now extra for gravy and bread. I wished I had been ably to speak to the manager but as I said my temper would not allow me to talk to anyone. We will not go back and that's a shame because it's my 89 year old father in laws favorites place to go after church. Another place they will close over taking guest for granted, to many other places in town to go to be treated this way. Food is good, service is good, what's the issue you ask? They stealth charge you 25% on top of your bill using their wireless credit card machine if you do not select an amount. Bill was $47, but total was over $58. Printed receipt from the register gave the details. They added a 25% tip to the bill without me authorizing it. Be aware folks, Not sure if this is a new trend in eateries, but it's causing me to look at receipts a bit closer now. read more

The host said he has no idea about Yelp, has "no technology up here" to know we were on a waitlist, and that there would be a 25 minute wait. I ordered the Cajun duo which is blackened tilapia with shrimp in a crawfish sauce over rice. I chose steamed broccoli and a Caesar salad as my sides. I began to worry about my order being very salty and began to regret my choice . Once the food was brought out, I dug in and was pleased that the seasoning was perfect! My meal exceeded my expectations however I'd recommend asking for dressing on the side versus on the salad( barely any). By the time I remembered to snap a pic, I had a bite of the entree left.
