5/29/26. I came here for lunch around 1:00, so there was no line at the counter. Service was quick and friendly. I was in the mood for a fish sandwich so I ordered it to go. Took it home (about 10 minutes away) and it was still very warm when I got home. The breading was crispy and not greasy. The fish tasted fresh and was light and flaky. The sandwich consisted of two huge, long, side-by-side fillets that were quite larger than the bun, some shredded lettuce and tartar sauce. The lettuce lacked a little to be desired but was definitely ok. The tartar sauce filled the bill. Overall this sandwich hit the mark and was a very good bargain at around $6. I was quite pleased and will order it again. Only reason for not a perfect five stars is that it just wasn't perfect, but still very good. read more

Came here Friday. My fam is catholic and we are currently in lint season so it's fish for us on Fridays during this season. Food: was surprisingly good live right down the street drive past it all the time cat fish was delicious add lemon juice and Louisiana hot sauce Service: very friendly staff whatever we needed we the provided!! Walked in at 8:29 pm and they told us we could only get takeout because they close the dining room at 9pm. Not another soul in the place two ladies just standing around chatting. I get take out there quite offen. Captain D'S still has the best fish and shrimp. They always get my order right and are very friendly.

I have a feeling that my preference is regional since I grew up in Springfield, MO but I seek out Captain D's over LJS. Captain D's locations aren't as plentiful so I memorize locations when I come across one. On the lobby menu board they only advertise the 3 piece and 4 piece fish dinner with 2 sides. If you ask they do offer the 2 piece for $6.49. I ordered green beans and coleslaw. Their coleslaw is so good. But the green beans taste like they're poured straight from the can and heated up, no seasoning added. On the counter they advertise 6 additional sides that have a 39 cents up charge. The battered fish combos do not include the drink though. As they should, they do have sweet and unsweetened tea available. At this location I really appreciated how clean the dining area and the restroom were. read more

I would've given more stars, but my drive through order was not correct and now I'm super grumpy because I hate paying for items I don't receive. Might as well flush money down the commode. My husband ordered a fish and chicken dinner and I got the 2 piece fish dinner with a loaded baked potato. Got home before checking the order. BIG mistake. We had 2 two piece fish dinners, no chicken, and my cold hard baked potato was not loaded. The guy at the window handed out the bag and said 'everything is in the bag.' and quickly tried to scurry off. That should've been the first clue. My husband said 'are you sure? Is there tarter sauce in there?'...and of course there wasn't. There also wasn't any utensils, napkins, malt vinegar...or chicken. There's nothing I hate more than incompetence when it's something as simple as a fish and chicken dinner. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to pick up 2 pieces of fish and 2 pieces of chicken and sling them into a bag. It wasn't busy, so I attribute it to pure laziness and not giving a damn about customer service or retention. Pretty sure we will make the long drive to Long John's next time. It's worth the drive for quality food. Did I mention my baked potato was so old it was brownish yellow...on the inside...and hard as a rock. The fish was ok, but just ok. The hush puppies were the best thing we had. Don't know about their chicken...SINCE WE DIDN'T GET ANY.. Not a great experience and very disappointed in both the food quality and the service. I am incredibly unhappy with the service that I got from this Captain D's. Not only did they get my order wrong but the fish size has decreased tremendously. I ordered a special trip meal which had virtually every shrimp that they have. That is battered dipped.Including some new shrimp that they are trying to promote. Great food, great management, friendly employees. They have been at this location since forever. How do they do it?

If you've never been here before, you can compare it to Long John Silver's. They fry their fish and chicken in a wet batter similar to what you'd expect in Britain or New England. They also have hush puppies, shrimp, cole slaw, green beans, and a few other sides. It's good to go here and pretend that you're eating something a little healthier than a burger. read more

I used to go to this location all the time. Their fish is much better than the other place I LOVE. I ordered fish and chicken once. My mistake, I thought the chicken was going to be more than chicken tenders. I could have stopped by Chicken E if I wanted tenders. I no longer go there because I am honestly afraid to go there. As with all fast food places Cole slaw that is not kept refrigerated is a game of russian roulette. I ordered Cole slaw with my last meal there. I remember thinking to myself why is the coleslaw warm. I ate it anyway. Needless to say I ended up sick and in the ER. My stomach is very sensitive to certain types of bacteria. I'm not saying the food is dangerous there, but I am saying make sure that slaw is at the correct temp. Their fish I DELISH!!! read more

The food is good. Staff is somewhat friendly, but not usually polite. Tonight we came and couldn't hear the guy at the drive-thru order and when we mentioned it at the window, he rolled his eyes and replied "well they won't fix it." I can totally understand the frustration of management/higher up not fixing issues, but there's no reason to be rude when someone is being polite about it. As usual, they got our order wrong. Luckily this time it was something small (they forgot fries in one kids meal, but the other one had a ton of fries so they can just share). The wait is usually pretty long and they are very consistent about forgetting something/messing up your order. Good food, could be better service. The drive thru service was friendly but slow. My food was what I expected from a chain restaurant, the fish was hot and coleslaw cold, everything tasted good. I ordered 2 four piece fish dinners, after driving 20 minutes home I found out they shorted me 1 piece of fish in my dinner. The food is fine. They do routinely forget part of your order. This is the third time this has happened so I called and spoke with someone about it. The person on the phone was kind and said that he would put my name down. When I went back to the restaurant, I told the lady that was working what happened and showed her my receipt. This was the worst place I have ever been to. I waited in the Drive-Thru line for almost 30 minutes before I got my food. The line was wrapped up all around the building. There was one person working both the counter in the Drive-Thru. There was one person that was cooking. Two people for the whole business. When I got the food home the french fries or undercooked and Soggy and so was the hush puppies and fish. I had to refry everything when I got home in order for the family to eat it. There are 2 things DFW needs more of: HEB stores and more Captain D's. As far as seafood fast food chains go, Captain D's kicks Long John Silver's butt! And their iced tea is the best, anywhere! They offer fried fish with traditional or cornmeal batter and they have lots of grilled items to choose from which is great if you're like me and want to eat less gluten as possible. I also like their stuffed crab shells. Those are filled up with imitation crabs, spices, celery, and breading I'm sure. So bad for you but so tasty! Seriously, don't forget to order some iced tea and hushpuppies. I can't help but notice the super old people who eat there. I guess with fried fish you don't have to chew very much. read more
