8/17/26. Came here to participate in the Fort Worth "Burger Week" challenge, benefitting the Tarrant area Food Bank. 30 restaurants in the area offer up their best "specialty burger" all week for a fixed $8 price. Fred's is offering up their Verde Burger - 1/2 lb black angus patty with mustard (I substituted Mayo), lettuce, tomato, sautéed onions, melted pepper Jack cheese, and a stack of their house fire roasted hatch peppers.....mmmmm yummy!! Yes, it is hatch pepper season here!!! Perfect timing. The ambiance definitely had a Texas flair and was very relaxed. I ordered my burger medium and it was absolutely perfectly cooked, with the crunchiness on the outside (but not a smash burger). And it was seasoned, which is one of my pet peeves for burgers; most are not well seasoned. The lettuce and tomato got a little lost in the flavor bomb of the onions, cheese and hatch peppers. WOW, great burger! As an extra treat they provided fries as well at no extra charge; what a deal for $8!! The fries had just the right amount of seasoning and the texture and size of each fry was just right. An outstanding value and a very good burger. I will add that my server was pleasant and very attentive but not over bearing. As a side note her name is Hadassah which is the Jewish name for Esther in the story of Esther in the Bible. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. Parking was kind of confusing as they had a few spots up front and in back but the server explained where else we could park when coming again. Ordered nachos, onion rings, burger and kids chicken. The portions were HUGE! We did the best we could on the nachos and there was still probably half left. I got the burger and ordered well done - they will make it however you want it. Not realizing how big portions were we got onion rings and they were good but we barely made a dent in them either. My son got The kids chicken and they were also huge. We took home a to go and ate some again later. Server was great, it was super clean and might need to check out the huge bar area next time if there is a game. read more

A couple of weeks ago, I was meeting a friend for lunch in Crowley and noticed a group of people outside a building waving cars down. When we arrived at our original spot, I suggested we head back and try the place everyone was clearly excited about--and I'm so glad we did. It was absolutely worth it. Tonight, I brought my family back, and we all loved it. The service was great both times, and the food was delicious and fresh. This will definitely be one of our new regular spots. I love Fred's Texas Cafe and now there's one in Crowley. We sat outside on their covered patio with my pup. The service was fantastic, our waiter was very funny and attentive. The food was awesome, as always at Fred's. My daughter got the Sticky Burger and she loved it. It had a lot of flavors without being overwhelming. Fred's is so good. The fried pickles are the best around, thin, crunchy & pair perfect with their spicy ranch! A little salty but they're pickles so that's expected. Loaded chips & queso are delicious! Thick & crunchy house made chips! Now the burgers, TOP TIER! The bolo burger, amazing. The Zaragoza burger, to die for. Just very simple asking of lemons with water (didn't happen) no tomatoes on burger (didn't happen) garnish on the side (didn't happen) none of these things happened. Just your basic cafe vibe. Nothing special at least in the bar area. Chicken fried steak sandwich was very good...ask for a side of gravy and dipping the sandwich makes it even better. My friend had a burger which is also reported to be very good. Service was a bit slow because of lack of staff. Staff was super friendly and helpful read more

Service was good, but my fried pickles with my burger were so terrible. It was like just batter and grease... it's like the pickle disintegrated or something. My burger was good though but the bacon I added was over cooked too so next time no bacon for me. read more

Fred's. It's a banger of a spot. Sat down at the bar Margarita on tap hit just right! The menu oh what to choose? Whelp you can never go wrong with a Mushroom Swiss burger and wow it didn't disappoint. You will not find a better burger anywhere South of Fort Worth it's the spot and I will be frequenting often. read more

We ordered 2non alcoholic beverages a queso appetizer and 2 burgers. $70 before "expected" TIP, that is effed!!Might have to push back. The queso was mid, the burgers were good, fries were almost great. $70 before tip. No thank you. For almost $100 we got a mid meal with zero leftovers. WTH are you guys thinking?!! read more

We have been going to Fred's for a while now. But the last time we went, it wasn't good. We could start with the service but it wasn't good. Then after paying for the onion rings and fried mushrooms. We were disappointed to say the least. Waiter forgot my salad and he didn't even come over to make sure everything was ok. I think we got a half order of onion rings and a little bit more of the mushroom. The thousand island dressing wasn't that good. Tasted like they used dill pickle relish in it. Now onto the chicken fried steak. It was like they didn't pound it out to make it tender. Mashed potatoes were cold and I asked for cream gravy and it was even on the plate. The gravy that I did get was glue.didn't want to take any thing home. All the other times we had gone there. The food was delicious but not this time. This is what I ordered. the Zaragoza burger it had avocado on it for some odd reason because that's not in the list of ingredients and for some reason onions after I asked for no onions in my burger they didn't even ask if it was okay in the pico de gallo. This would've been a bigger problem If or someone who was eating this was allergic to the avocado or onion. The staff was nice and the drinks were good too read more

After visiting other locations of Fred's Burgers, we decided to check out their new restaurant in Crowley, Texas -- and we were not disappointed. From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable. We were greeted right away, seated quickly, and the attentiveness never stopped there. Our server was incredible -- anticipating our needs before we even had to ask. That kind of service stands out. For appetizers, we started with the queso dip, which was outstanding. They use flour tortillas instead of corn, which gives them a unique, extra-crispy texture. We also ordered the brown sugar-infused bacon, and it completely exceeded expectations. The combination of sweet bacon topped with spicy chilies was bold and delicious. The drinks were just as impressive. The draft beer was so cold there was ice forming on top of the schooner. My wife said her mixed drinks were excellent and perfectly balanced. For entrées, I had the traditional chicken fried steak -- and when I say it covered two-thirds of the plate, I'm not exaggerating. It was massive and cooked perfectly. My wife ordered the Fred Burger, and we loved that you can choose exactly how you want your meat cooked. The manager, Adrian, personally came over to check on us and even sat down to explain that everything at Fred's Burgers is made fresh -- nothing frozen, nothing pre-prepared. You can absolutely taste the difference. Prices are very reasonable, with meals ranging between $15-$18 and appetizers around $6-$10. They've only been open seven weeks, and the place was packed -- which says a lot. I appreciate that Fred's Burgers invests in small-town communities. As a bonus, this location is closer to our home, and we've already decided it will be our go-to spot when friends and family come into town.
