It's so hard to get to this restaurant because they do have limited hours but sometimes good things come to those who wait. We drove by on our way to shop for plants and saw that they had a parking lot full of cars. On our way back, we picked up a to go order and I'm so glad we did. To start, I really love the jalapeño mozzarella cheese sticks. I feel like these must've been homemade and not from a restaurant supply. They they had the perfect amount of jalapeño throughout. They weren't too spicy. Their onion rings are pretty good, but they could use just a tad bit more seasoning in my opinion. The fries were top notch & cooked to perfection. The burgers were phenomenal. They were so big. The stuffed burger is a patty stuffed with cheese that also has cheese on top. You can see that cheesy goodness is oozing out of it in the picture. The bacon jammer was my absolute favorite. Their bacon jam was very tasty. It did not have any kind of after taste like at some restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our food. Hi everyone! My first time at Nicky D's! I've heard about it since I've moved to Texas. Was driving by on my way to Fort Worth and decided to take the plunge... If you're familiar with my reviews, you know I am a "burger guy"! So my standards can be kind of high. Well, I can't believe the Hickory bacon cheeseburger I had today is the BEST BURGER I HAVE EVER HAD! Period! So good I really feel no need to say more!!! My onion rings were quite tasty as well! Let me tell y'all about this bacon jammer oh my word, that was the biggest juiciest burger I've ever had, it was delicious it was a lot of food for the fries ate homemade I had to eat the rest the next day and it was still delicious, this was my first experience it was pricey but I would buy it all over again. First time for me at Nicky D's. It is a smaller place. You stop right inside the door to place your order. A very pleasant individual greets you with a smile and takes your order. After seeing recent reviews on this place I knew I had to stop in. Showed up at opening time (11 am) on Saturday. Gives off nostalgic burger joint vibe - which I absolutely love. Quickly greeted but took a min to walk around an appreciate all the pictures in this place. Loved all of it. Ordered the small Cajun Pepper jack burger with a side of onion rings. The cheese pull on the burger was insane. Hot melty cheese, nicely seasoned burger, and the onions and jalapeños were freshly grilled (I love that they weren't pickled jalapeños) the fresh gave off a nice crunch. Onion rings were outright delicious. Great flavor, the perfect brown, crispy, golden batter. Chef kiss. Staff were all so friendly and so was the owner Trent. All the burgers are made to order, half pound patties with lettuce, tomato, pickle and onions served on the side. I had a cheese burger with American cheese and it was 10/10. Classic, fresh, perfectly seasoned and cooked. My friend had the Bubba, which included bacon, grilled onions and avocado- Yummy! I can't tell you how many times I've drove by this little burger spot on the outskirts of Crowley before finally making a point to stop here with my fiancé. We were hungry at 2 o'clock on a Saturday and hoping for something really filling and I think we made the best pic. We both got bacon cheeseburgers with grilled onions, and I love the fact that you can add your own mayonnaise mustard catch up at the table with squirt bottles to get that perfect amount. I got sweet potato fries. He got regular fries and you can look at both of them and tell that someone actually cut those from a potato in house not out of a bag. Wildly good hamburger very well seasoned, perfect size (and we got the little one). Food came out fairly quickly, considering that it's being prepared in the back when you order it. The staff was so friendly, the vibe is old school burger diner, a smallish space indoors but plenty of outdoor seating as well, and the burgers were perfection...simple, fresh, hot and delicious! The fires were crispy and hot as well. The menu was pretty big but we kept is simple with just burgers and fries, so many other things I'd definitely go back to try out...we ate everything up so fast I didn't get a picture. This place must be under new management or they are hiring new people who don't care because they have been getting orders incorrectly lately. In all the years I've been going hear just recently they have now starting to mess up orders. I ordered a VEGGIE burger with mushrooms and grilled onions and a JUNIOR cheeseburger with mustard and pickles only. Instead I received two REGULAR cheeseburgers with all fixings. And they didn't even bother to put any mushrooms or grill onions on any of the burgers. I might have to start looking for another burger place nearby because several new places have opened. Hole in the wall burger joint. Burger was tasty and fresh, I got the "Jammer" with the bacon jam on the side and I added avocado. They forgot to put the grilled jalapeños but she brought me out a side. Overall the burger was a solid 8.5/10, they don't skimp on the meat here at 1/2 lb so come here hungry! I took off a star for price. I ordered their "new Ivy fries" which are like a thick curly fry thing. I didn't realize the fries were $10 until she rang me out and told me my total was $31 so I was pretty shocked to be dropping $30+ on lunch. This is a typical diner, nothing fancy but has plenty of seating. The service counter is right at the door, which is they are busy could be a little troublesome. The lady behind the counter took our order and was very helpful and friendly. We ordered a cheeseburger, stuffed burger, and a large onion ring. My cheeseburger was delicious, cooked perfectly, all the veggies come on the side and the sauces are at the table to put on your burger. My husband's burger was a little undercooked, but stuffed to the brim with grilled onions and jalapeño. He ended up having to ask for a fork and knife to finish it. I've been told about this place for years, but I'm rarely on that end of town at lunch. I was last Wednesday and i stopped in for lunch with my son. Don't let the humble exterior dissuade you. This is a legit restaurant worthy of any burger connoisseur. In a word, fantastic! The staff were great. Burgers were amazing! I had the patty melt and my kid got the hash burger. I remembered this place being good years ago. Some friends told us it's not as good anymore. Can't say much for the service, I ordered a chocolate shake that eventually came out after we had eaten and were literally leaving. The burgers are frozen thin dry patties which had an off flavor. The sides all from frozen bag. Two burgers with a side, drink and shake was $45. You'll have a better experience at any fast food restaurant. Hoping we don't get sick from eating this. I would always drive from wherever I've lived in Fort Worth for an amazing bacon cheeseburger with grillled mushrooms and onions and they never fail to fill me up. The portions here are crazy! ive never seen a burger so big in my life. We got the Shane burger, lumberjack burger, jalapeño cheese sticks, & curly fries. Everything was really good & piping hot. I had to eat my burger with a knife & fork that's how big it was.. doesn't come with condiments you have to add that yourself but that's not an issue for me. I would say the price was reasonable for what you get. If you have friends in town that have never been to texas I would definitely take them here to experience Nicky ds food. read more

Food...where to begin! They have many burgers to choose from, I've never had a bad one. Avocado Pepper Jack is probably my go to. Bacon Jammer is one I have yet to try but oh it sounds amazing. They also have several sandwiches to choose from, as well as salads. There are several options for burger add ons, mushrooms, bacon, chili and several more. Service...the staff there is always smiling and friendly any time I've been. Unfortunately I don't live close and don't get to go as often as I'd like. Ambiance...The restaurant is in an old gas station. The owners have done a great job of turning it into a restaurant with tables and such. The wall the kitchen is on has the extensive menu. What's nice is the pics of the food! It's always nice to know the appearance of what you're getting. This also helps in making a decision on what you might order.
