The ladies of the family all convened to have afternoon tea. It was a lovely experience! We order the Strawberry hibiscus tea and the Ginger Peach tea. We were treated to tiny scones, tiny golden raisin muffins, fruit: grapes, strawberries, dried apricots;little finger sandwiches of chicken salad *WARNING* (There are peanuts in the Chicken salad!), pimento and cheese sandwiches, chocolate cookies with white chocolate chips sprinkled with sea salt and more fruit. There was also a side of fresh orange marmalade, puréed strawberries and butter. They also provided cream and raw sugar for the tea.
The waiter came out and provided the teacups, saucers, tongs and demitasse spoon. The service came next and each pot was labeled in white pots with a tiered tray with all the goodies lined on each tier.
We were really surprised to learn of the peanuts in the chicken salad and thankfully the waitress told us, as we would have never guessed. One of us is allergic and she quickly brought out two more pimento and cheese sandwiches for us.
We had such a lovely time!
The room we sat in, was filled with natural light and they even have an atrium that you can sit in for lovely Spring or Fall days! We were dressed casually blouses and jeans, but some patrons were dressed for tea. So if you want to fuss you can, but you do not have to.
Tea service for 3 was a little over 50.00, but well worth the experience. I definitely recommend going to this lovely café! The food, the staff and atmosphere all amazing! read more
