In a restaurant heavy town, this food truck entrepreneur turned brick & mortar sets a new bar for others who have gotten too comfortable in this market. The food is thoughtfully curated for variety on the menus, the atmosphere is subdued and comfortable, and the service is on pace with whatever timeline you need or want them to be if you let them know. In a time where those things no longer seem to be a given, it's a refreshing delight! At this point, I've tried about everything on the menu. For lunch, the tuna salad is my favorite but you honestly can't go wrong on this menu made to enhance the fresh, natural taste of the foods on it. You can also get steak at lunch even though it is not on the menu... just ask. The owner personally shops daily to ensure whatever you order is fresh, and the meats are sourced from Tarleton in Stephenville so you are supporting local ranchers in addition to knowing its origins. On the appetizers, the shishito peppers fresh bought fresh locally are a great option. The dinner menu is equally as delightfully hard to go wrong, with one addition I wish they would add to the menu, but you can still always get... Tuna Steak. Any other place who has this in the area does it in ways that are either coated with sesame seeds/oil or is not fresh to the point you can smell it (fish that smells fishy is not fresh!). I love the tuna steak with a side of the sautéed mushrooms, and a starter of the homemade Caesar salad (made without mayonnaise, using fresh ingredients). With fewer and fewer places offering things that are healthy, it is a great place to get incredible food, at an incomparable price for what your money, without having to stray from a heart healthy, food allergy, or other restricting diet (be sure you let them know if you need adjustments for allergies or health reasons). I appreciate that foods made with butter can be adjusted to olive oil, my very restrictive allergies can be accommodated for, and the flavor does not suffer for doing so. Desserts & drinks are equally as memorable, and only make a wonderful meal that much more unforgettable. If you're looking for a great dining experience, without breaking your wallet compared to the same foods at other local establishments, this is the place! It is not kid friendly, which is welcomed to me because I want to enjoy a night or a lunch out without fuss. It is a quiet, relaxing atmosphere you can talk to people in without yelling at each other. If you want something different than the menu items, they will even make things like Beef Wellington or likely whatever your heart desires if you plan ahead and talk to the owner or GM. Hands down, this is one of the BEST restaurants in Fort Worth! Fort Redemption is off of Camp Bowie, so it's central, but you don't hear exterior traffic. Free parking and easily accessible to I30. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. Lighting is charming in the evenings and noise is low. The best part is the FOOD! It's hard to try anything new when EVERY TIME I go, the lamb chops are a hit! They are seasoned absolutely perfectly! Husband had the 16 ounce and it too was seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. The potatoes au gratin, asparagus, and mushrooms were all delicious. Not one complaint. Several had various cocktails that were prepared beautifully. They are a little pricey, but when you find a spot like this it is a gem. We tried the crème brûlée, banana pudding, and the flan. OMG! We went on a Sunday after Church so when we arrived, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. I was pleasantly surprised at the aesthetics walking in. The front windows of the restaurant had fairy purple lights hanging from the wall. The full bar is quite impressive as it maybe 12' long? But Just my guess. Don't quote me on it. Upon opening the restaurant early in the day you are offered their brunch menu. They have a lunch menu you just need to ask for it. The brunch and lunch menus didn't offer any type of appetizers, but I wish they would have the food service took quite a minute to have our meals brought to our table. I ordered the salmon Benedict's and my husband ordered a cheeseburger. We were quite perplexed on their sides. They don't offer french fries with a hamburger or even a bag of chips. Their sides are potatoes au gratin, asparagus, Mac & cheese,if they have it, and mushrooms. We were also quite surprised at the exact location of this restaurant. It's tucked away on a small street of a camp Bowie in a strip shopping center. Found this place on our way back to Granbury. It is an awesome intimate place. We had the ribeye, tuna and shrimp cocktail. All were excellent and cooked to perfection. Servers can answer any questions and recommend anything you have questions about. Got the crème brûlée which was awesome and perfectly done. Wait staff is great, friendly and knowledgeable. We met here for Sunday brunch to try a local restaurant that was new to all 3 of us. There were some disappointments all around. I'll start with the pros. It's locally owned which is fantastic. Parking is easy and the decor is nice. I ended up settling on waffles and bacon for my order and they serve it with melted butter which I love! Sadly I didn't select Fort Redemption for their waffles. At one time, but sadly for me it's no longer, Fort Redemption had brisket jalapeño mac and cheese with bourbon cream sauce. I sat down prepared to order that fantastic, delicious sounding dish. It has been removed from the menu. I ended up ordering waffles. Strawberries are an option so I ordered my waffle with strawberries and whipped cream. Guess what? The server informed us, no whipped cream. So I went with maple syrup. We all ordered sweet tea. Guess what? They don't sell sweet tea. We're accustomed to that pretty much coming standard in Texas. There was an order placed for an Arnold Palmer. But they do not have lemonade. Two of us just ended up drinking water. The breakfast tacos are good. Steak was prepared at the temperature requested. My new mission is finding or just creating my own recipe for brisket jalapeño mac and cheese with bourbon cream sauce. read more

I have been wanting to try this place so I stopped in for lunch. It's an interesting menu that doesn't seem very cohesive. The only thing I can figure is they decided what they like to make and threw it all on a menu then let someone else decide on the decor of the restaurant. I got the brisket sandwich which was offered with two kinds of sauce one was a bourbon cream, and the other was some kind of wine reduction. The chopped brisket was tender and flavorful, but I really missed a good barbecue sauce. The other sauces were too thin for a brisket sandwich. A friend ordered the medium-well cheeseburger, but it came very well done and kind of dry. We both got the jalapeño mac & cheese with lots of jalapeños sprinkled over the top, but there was zero jalapeño flavor in the mac & cheese. That's kind of an issue with jalapeños these days, but they could've possibly left in some of the seeds or membranes to pull a little more flavor out of them. If you're going to serve a jalapeño mac & cheese, it really needs to have a jalapeño taste. We were recommended Fort Redemption by our food friends and I can see why. The place is in a shopping center. You wouldn't know a wonderful place like this existed if it wasn't for word of mouth. We came on a Friday night and there were 2 other parties there sitting at the tables. There were a few at the bar and one couple that came in when we left. Walking in felt like going into a loft. The space was open, but it also felt homey and the seats were VERY comfortable. So comfortable that my husband, before we left the restaurant, said "sit on my seat". The seat hugged my butt very well. We were greeted by Chloe. I LOVE HER! She is an amazing server and so friendly. She gave us great wine recommendations. I love a girl who's knowledgeable about her wine! She even gave us a card at the end of service with a recommendation for another wine. She is truly fantastic. We ordered a charcuterie board, the lamb chops (recommended by our friend), sirloin, banana pudding and flan. They were all so tasty. The rub on the sirloin and the lamb were delicious and the meat was cooked to perfection! The portions and price point were really outstanding. I ended up taking my 2 of my lamb chops home. I asked Chloe the best way to reheat it. I did what she said the following day for dinner and it was still juicy. Did I tell you that I absolutely love Chloe??? I wanted to write this review to rave about this place to drum up some business for it. I want to see this place succeed. Highly highly recommend this spot for a nice date night or just a night out with friends. You will not be disappointed. Fort Redemption is a simple menu that focuses on doing the basics well. This place is new only opening 4 months ago. We decided to try it for lunch and we were not disappointed. Our waitress was very polite and knew the menu well. I tried the Breakfast Burger and the regular burger. Both burgers were seasoned perfectly and both were incredibly juicy. The potatoes au gratin were creamy and very tasty. For dessert I tried the Banana Pudding which was the biggest surprise of the afternoon. This was layered very well and so far the best version of a banana pudding I've found in Fort Worth. They do have some things to iron out as far as a more user friendly reservation system because right now it's only by phone. But hey they are new and will figure it out. read more

The sides were fresh and you can tell that thought and passion go into everything that comes out of the kitchen here! Our waitress was fantastic and informative! My favorite part though, is how involved the owner and chef is. He came out to make sure we enjoyed our meal, walked around and chatted with everyone and makes everyone feel like they're family. First off, the place is beautiful, but the seating is very limited. We were asked immediately if we had a reservation. We did not, but there was room at the spacious bar, so we sat there perfectly satisfied. We had searched on Yelp for a good hamburger and Fort Redemption came up high on the list so we of course ordered their cheeseburgers and a couple of margaritas. The margaritas came to us quickly and were just okay, maybe on the sweet side and served in martini glasses. We waited over 30 minutes for our burgers, which were really nothing special especially for $18.! We did see some beautiful cuts of meat going to other tables, so maybe this just really isn't a place for burgers, but a great place for steaks? The short of it is, don't come here for margaritas or burgers. Yelp is a bit misleading on that. We prefer Tommy's for burgers. Rating 2 stars. Not a good value. Very slow service. Mediocre food and drinks. Many better choices to be had- * side note (doesn't affect this rating). There was a fire with 2 fire trucks and a dozen or so firemen at the pizza place in this strip mall setting and we couldn't leave the parking lot. read more

Thanks, Yelp, for yet another hidden gem - and this one only open for a short three months. Based on our visit, Fort Redemption is doing a lot of things right. They offer a small menu but don't let that discourage you. Every last thing we ate was spectacular: cooked to order, seasoned well, full of flavor and left us wanting more. I rarely say "every last thing" was great. We were impressed. Drinks: I asked for a margarita even though it wasn't in their menu. She made it like she absolutely made it everyday. It wasn't too limey and really well balanced. My guy ordered an Old Fashioned - spot on. Food: He opted for the rib eye and I chose the beef tenderloin. We shared brussels and saved room for their banana pudding (thanks, Yelp - you were right!). Sitting at the bar gave us a better vantage point into the kitchen. It's always cool to see all the attention and love given to a great meal, right before it's delivered to you. Chef Troy came out a little while later and chatted with us. The ribeye with bourbon cream sauce was tender and flavorful. The salmon was cooked perfectly. The au gratin potatoes are to die for. Great shishito peppers; wonderful banana pudding (made with perfect bananas, not overly ripe ones)! The service was impeccable. Jeremy was attentive and had great recommendations. I'm giving FR a strong review because I don't want another intimate, upscale restaurant to go out of business ala Fitzgerald. We went on a Sun at 7 and after about 20 minutes were the only people in the restaurant. First, the good. I ordered a white Russian and it was stiff and delicious. You'd be surprised how many places screw up this simple drink. The steaks were DELICIOUS! They were cooked a little under what we ordered but no matter they tasted great. Also, their prices are ridiculous...in a good way. 16 oz ribeye for $48 (that had less fat than any I've ever ordered)? This same steak would be at least 50% more anywhere else. The wine list, while short, was very reasonable priced and yielded an excellent Zin, 1000 something. Sauted mushrooms were tasty as well. The services was...relaxed. That was OK as we were celebrating our anniversary but I wonder how it would be with a full house. Now, the not so good. Sides were mostly mediocre. The potatoes au gratin were bland, tough, and the cheese wasn't completely melted. The Caesar salad was meh - passable but completely forgettable. NO BREAD - that's a very odd choice for a place like this. So, good start, they got most of the big things right, the rest needs improvement. read more

Since the place that makes the best burger ever (11/10) shut down, I've been trying to find a new best... and this is definitely the new best. I had mine with bacon and caramelized onions and no lettuce or tomato, letting the thick, juicy beef do the talking. It was outstanding: good beef, expertly seasoned and cooked. The bun did its job, although I'd rather have had a brioche bun as they tend to stay intact a little longer. That's a quibble, though; I'd have this burger anytime.
