Perfection. Everything you could possibly want from a diner. Packed booths, smiling staff, fresh breakfast food, great lunches, extensive menu, fresh drinks, and a buzzing atmosphere. A Fort Worth gem, so worth the visit. You'll leave smiling

Westside Cafe is amazing! They have never compromised on old-fashioned value and service. Their food is always cooked to order and absolutely delicious! The staff are always on top of their game in making sure each table feels special, regardless of how busy the restaurant is. The ambiance is of a diner from years gone by...a pocket of time from the good old days. Yesterday I dropped off two military pictures of family to be hung on their wall of honor. In wanting to make full use of the trip out there, I stayed for a late breakfast. The three buttermilk pancakes were huge! The syrup bottles are kept warm and made a great addition to the butter already applied. The biscuits and gravy were a nice way to complete the meal. Wow! I waddled out to the car after finishing all my food. Alicia, my server, was a joy to have take care of me. Please support Westside Cafe!

Bring your grandma and go have some home cooked food. Make sure you try this long time staple of the west side of Fort Worth. It was bought by a company after some struggles the previous owner had but they kept up the decor, which makes the place what it is. No lie, his place is like coming home. The memories here warms my heart. I think my favorite is the grilled pork chops or the liver and onions. Back when I could eat bread I'd get the club sandwich. The ranch is homemade. Don't forget to try the desserts. The wait staff will keep up with all you need and have all the answers. There is always someone around and I'm pretty sure they all help one another. LOVE HIS PLACE.

I wish I had more stars to give!!! There's a reason there's a wait on a Sunday morning--but don't be deterred!!! The friendly staff will greet you and get you on the list. This place runs so efficiently, the wait won't be long! Once you are seated you will be treated to outstanding service and exceptional food! Fast, friendly, delicious! Pancakes are sooo good and served with warm syrup, biscuits are flaky and tender, loaded omelettes are fresh and hot!! We need more stars!!!! Don't sleep on this institution, doing it right!!! Oh -- GET THE HASHBROWN CASSEROLE!!!

Stopped in here for breakfast today. This is the first time I've walked into a restaurant and said "This place has had a deep cleaning and you can tell." The food was fantastic! The place was really busy for 8am too. Had with a #1 and then smoked sausage, biscuit, 3 scrambled eggs and a pancake. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the biscuit was fantastic! The smoked sausage was also delicious and had a great smokey flavor. This was a fantastic experience and can't wait to try this place again.

Went here cause I wanted to try something different. My father lives on this side of town, so I thought why not. The food portion was great. It's a huge place inside. My daughter loved the Mac n cheese. Fries were crispy. Loved the biscuit and gravy. Bacon was so crispy. We will be back!!

The BEST hashbrowns I've had in a hot minute! I was craving a classic diner breakfast, you know the kind... - great service - great coffee - great pancakes - great eggs (made your way!) - and of course, great hashbrowns!!! This cafe has it ALL and more! I can't wait to try more on the menu or just another round of hashbrowns. ;D

I've been a customer here for 15 years. Just what I thought it couldn't get any better, it took a giant step forward. I believe, since the new ownership took over, this restaurant has gone from great to perfect in its class. Nice, clean building with good, efficient service. The decor is now updated and fresh. The daily lunch specials are not to be overlooked! Today, I'm feasting on the Friday deal: my choice of sides includes turnip greens and squash casserole, two of my favorites. Beef tips and noodles are made with real prime beef and absolutely just like your grandma would've made! Finish that with cornbread, and you are off to the races! Unsweet Arnold Palmer, and I am a happy camper!

Everything was Great! I come every Saturday and Sunday for the Pozole Soup. I add a soft scrambled egg, green salsa and squeeze 2-3 lemons along with other fix-ins. Olga, was a Wonderful waitress as is all that work here. We love the at Home feel you get at West Side.

The restaurant was very busy but the wait was only like 5 minutes! The employees were more than just workers... they actually put off the family vibe. You don't get just one server there... they are all for one and one for all there, total teamwork here!! Now let's get down to the food!! It was absolutely freaking delicious and amazing!! Their chicken from steak and their scrambled eggs were the best that we ever had!!( and I'm a VERY picky eater foodie the same cooks have been there for over 20 years so the food is consistently good. Definitely recommend them!! We plan on making this a regular place!! And Monica was so precious!!

Special #2 plus cheddar plus two poached eggs (4 eggs total). They know my order. Just "my usual". The best service.

I come every Friday to get a generous helping of good food and feel good excellent service.

Good portions of my classic choice.

I enjoyed overall my classic breakfast items at this Fort Worth multigenerational staple with a warm & spacious atmosphere. Biscuits with gravy was delicious. My scrabbled eggs and sausage tasted fine. Services was attentive and very sweet from the hostess to the cashier at check out. Coffee refills kept coming and is a light roast. The place to go if wanting a classic American breakfast.

Does anyone know a recipe similar to their squash casserole? I live in Dallas now and I crave it all the time.

I actually use a lot of amazing recipes on a site called lemon8. They might have it on there

    Is breakfast served all day?

Yes, they serve breakfast all day.

Just wondering, can customers order for to-go/pick up? I don't mind being charged for tip.

Yes, I saw folks picking up to-go orders when I was there.

How do I find out sodium content of foods, i.e. western omelet?

Hi Donna, and thanks for your question. But unfortunately, we do not have that information in a comprehensive form. We would have to hire a laboratory to analyze all of our products, and this would cost many thousands of dollars and is not… Read more

Perfect choice! 1) BEST Street Corn fresh off the cob, seasoned to perfection 2) BEST Golden mashed potatoes that melted in my mouth with every bite. They were yellow and not bleached white. The flavor was amazing! 3) BEST Broccoli on earth. I don't know what they did to this broccoli that made me want to lick the plate, but if I could prepare it like this, I would eat broccoli every single day. 4) the grass fed steak was so tender that they don't serve it with a steak knife. They served it with a regular butter knife. That is how tender the beef was. 5) Our server was amazing as so friendly and knowledgeable. Good start. Summer was a fantastic server. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive given she was overloaded with tables having taken on another section. Service trailed off a tad toward the end, which was the worst timing as we were trying to get to the concert. As for the food: no complaints all around. I thought their corn side was very good (I don't typically like corn), their broccoli was good. I didn't try their brussel sprouts, but my wife and in laws raved about them. My entree was the bunless bison burger with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I ordered the bison medium, but what came out was an overdone, crumbly patty held together by the melted cheese on top. I also felt their mashed potatoes were just okay. Although I I was disappointed in my meal, the ambiance, location, and experience of the rest of my party pushed it just over to the 4th star. I'd probably go back.

Fort Worth's dining reputation has long been defined by three culinary pillars: steakhouses,…read morebarbecue, and Tex-Mex. Spend enough time beyond the familiar corridors of the Stockyards, and a more nuanced food culture begins to emerge. Quince is part of that evolution, a restaurant whose name may suggest a traditional Mexican kitchen but whose ambitions stretch well beyond geography. Pronounced keen-seh--Spanish for the number fifteen--the restaurant draws from Mexican and Tex-Mex traditions while borrowing comfortably from Mediterranean and contemporary American influences. The entrance hints at colonial architecture one might encounter in central Mexico, but the dining room tells a different story. Its polished yet approachable design feels more akin to an upscale neighborhood restaurant in Los Angeles than a regional Texas eatery. The meal opened with parmesan truffle fries and hummus. The fries avoided the excess that often accompanies truffle dishes, balancing crisp potatoes with a silky Parmesan cream whose earthy aroma complemented rather than overwhelmed. Served alongside, the hummus was topped with sliced tomatoes and onions and accompanied by crisp pita chips. The presentation echoed the familiar ritual of chips and guacamole, though its Mediterranean flavors offered a refreshing change of pace. A side of shredded short rib, ordered separately for the vegetarian at the table, proved tender enough to stand on its own. My entrée, a pepper crusted roast chicken, demonstrated the kitchen's confidence in restraint. The skin crackled beneath the knife while the meat remained notably moist, a combination that often proves elusive. Creamy mashed potatoes provided comfort without unnecessary embellishment, while lightly cooked spinach added freshness and balance to an otherwise rich plate. Dessert is where Quince made its strongest impression. A flourless chocolate cake delivered exactly what the format promises: dense, intensely chocolate-forward, and luxurious without becoming indulgent. Even more memorable was the blackberry cobbler, baked and served in its own ceramic dish. Beneath its golden crust, layers of warm blackberries, butter, and subtle baking spices created a dessert whose flavors unfolded gradually rather than announcing themselves all at once. A scoop of melting vanilla ice cream softened each bite, turning an already accomplished dessert into the evening's standout course. An espresso provided a fitting conclusion. By the time we settled the bill and stepped into the Fort Worth night, conversation had slowed to the contented pace that follows a thoughtfully prepared meal. Quince offers compelling evidence that Fort Worth's culinary future deserves just as much attention.

The space is cozy, which is a polite way of saying it is not built for large groups or people who like personal space. The wait can be substantial, and the indoor holding area is limited, if the weather is doing something dramatic, you'll want to know that before you commit. The real secret, which I discovered the hard way, is that you can join the waitlist online before you even leave the house. Life-changing information that arrived too late for us. Learn from my mistakes. Once seated, the coffee is hot, the iced tea is fresh, a surprisingly rare achievement at breakfast hours, and the menu has enough options to cause genuine decision paralysis. We ordered two Traditional Breakfasts, both over easy eggs, both crispy bacon. One arrived cooked to absolute perfection, eggs exactly as requested, bacon doing exactly what bacon is supposed to do. The other arrived with eggs cooked firmly over hard. Same table, same order, same server. How does this happen? It is one of breakfast's great unsolved mysteries. The breakfast potatoes, meanwhile, showed promise, well seasoned and flavorful, but arrived in a mixed state of doneness that required careful excavation to find the fully cooked ones. It was less of a side dish and more of an archaeological dig. The third order, the Tri-Fecta, came with a multigrain pancake the size of a small continent, which almost made up for the potato situation. And then there was the Million Dollar Bacon. We didn't order it. The table next to us did. I watched it arrive and I am still not over it. Order the Million Dollar Bacon. Do not make my mistake. Do not be me. First Watch is a solid breakfast spot with real upside, get on the waitlist before you leave home, order the bacon, and maybe double-check your eggs before your server walks away.
