Chicken sandwich and pasta salad
Alex A.

We popped in to dodge rush hour on the motorcycle, and since this place is always packed, we figured it must be good. I went for the BBQ burger and okra fries -- solid 4.8/5. Delicious, no notes. My partner, on the other hand... not as lucky. She ordered the chicken sandwich with pasta salad. The chicken was thin, totally dried out, and came with zero sauce. She had to hijack my sister sauce just to make it edible -- that's a 1/5. And the pasta salad? Basically coleslaw reincarnated as noodles. Not what she expected, also a 1/5. Service was great, everyone super friendly. My meal was a win -- just wish hers didn't feel like a culinary prank. We'll give it another chance, but next time we're steering clear of the chicken.

The burgers here are soooo good! I absolutely loved the sweet sourdough buns -- soft, slightly sweet, and a perfect match for the juicy, tender burger patties. I got the Allie Mae & JD, while my husband ordered the Cheryl & Bo, and both were downright scrumptious. For my side, I upgraded to the okra fries with their Sister Sauce (just $1 extra) and it was totally worth it! Crisp, flavorful, and something different from the usual fries. We came on a Thursday just before 5 PM and it was already buzzing with people, which says a lot. Despite the crowd, the service was great -- super friendly and attentive. The prices are also very reasonable -- about $40 for two burgers (with sides) and two drinks. Great food, great service, and great value. We'll definitely be back!

First time trying JD's. I came for the sourdough buns !! It was crowded but we were able to sit down pretty quickly. I chose a ready made burger , next time I'll build my own and go with sweet potato fries instead of regular fries. It was casual dressing and felt like being at home or a neighborhood restaurant.. My burger was a little on the dry side and the fries were soaked in oil. I'll give them another go, the sourdough is amazing .. build your own burger

Okra Fry Basket

If you like the show Landman, the filming location for The Patch Cafe is right across the street. I thought the Okra Fry Basket was pretty unique. I haven't had fried okra presented in that way. My friends and I thought the burgers were good; above average. I even added a fried egg to mine. I thought the buns were too greasy but some people might like that. Overall it taste like a "better than fast food" type of burger. The restaurant does get packed so be prepare to wait if you go at peak hours.

I had heard about JD's and was planning on taking my order to go. When I walked in, two young men, greeted me and directed me barside to order. It was Friday, so I ordered a mojito "not too sweet, but a little strong." Bartender, Berkeley, prepared that drink perfectly! So much so that I decided to sip it slowly and enjoy my burger there. I was very satisfied with my burger too. It came dressed with the bun lightly toasted and with all the fixings. The meat was cooked to my preference and was seasoned perfectly! There was some kind of sauce on it that was delicious! The fries were nice and thick too. The place itself was casual, clean, and comfortable. I went at about 4:15pm and had my choice of seating and parking, but midway into that burger and the place started to fill up. By the time I was finished, the place was booming! I paid, left, and the parking lot was full! I'm a native of Fort Worth and have no idea how I haven't been here, but I'm glad I know about it now!

We were able to revisit when the weather was nicer and grab a seat inside. Party of three we ordered Deviled eggs and Fried Green Tomatos as an appetizer. We also order Dos Equis draft, Rahr & Sons seasonal draft (Blond) and the Coco Anejo (good but thick stout). I ordered the Dot & Johnny Mack which was very tasty. The fries were not seasoned well and my son ate them. Hubs ordered Allie Mae & JD on jalapeno cheese bread add mayo add mustard with onion rings. The onion rings were meh and he would order something different in the future. Son ordered Margie's burger no fried basil add mustard with sweet potato fries. The burgers are amazing. The buns are light and fluffy. We also really liked our waiter Mike D. We would definitely return but switch us our orders and maybe forego the sides.

Excellent burgers. The buns are the best! It's super casual and a lovely outdoor area with a ton of tables. Right when we got out of our car in the parking lot, we immediately got a nice whiff of meat. It smelled divine. I ordered the Allie Mae & JD with onion rings. It's a good ol' burger. The meat was seasoned well. It was actually a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be so I only ate half. I just finished the other half for dinner, which is why I remembered to write a review. I did finish the onion rings at the restaurant though. They were so crunchy and perfectly breaded. I recommend asking for ranch on the side for the onion rings. I've been here numerous times before and got other burgers to try. I've had the Jasie & Joe twice. I enjoyed that one, obviously because I had it twice. Can't really go wrong with anything you order. Service is awesome too. They were busy when we got in and our waitress forgot our sodas, but she was super apologetic about it and even gave us a refill with an empty to-go cup, just in case.

The glorious chicken sandwich

Ever since our first visit to JD's in 2022, it quickly became our go-to local spot to satisfy any burger cravings. However, we also found out that while their burgers are great, their other menu items are awesome as well. After trying the Grilled Chicken Sandwich once, it has now become the favorite for both The Wife and I as we get it each time, which is saying a lot given how great the burgers are. You're greeted with a hearty, tender haunch of chicken breast that has amazing flavor from the marinade/seasoning, smothered in sister sauce, all piled on some buttered Texas Toast. In my view this is the best chicken sandwich in Fort Worth (Wild Acre's may be second). So if you're like us where you go to JD's frequently or if you haven't tried it all yet, do explore their menu as it has more than just great burgers here.

Okra fries 0/10. Sweet potato fries 10/10. Allie Mae & JD burger 10/10.

Addie Mae & JD burger 10/10 meat seasoned well, perfect amount of mayo, classic burger cannot go wrong with this one Sweet potato fries 10/10 not soggy or too salty after a 10 minute drive home Fried Okra fries BURNT I love fried okra but these were not it 0/10 idk if fry cook just left them in too long or this is how it's usually prepared but I would not get these again. Ambiance was great! 10/10 outside seating and tv Service was very friendly!! I will be back.

Didn't see it on the menu, but don't let that stop you from ordering the best Michelada in Texas. Pairs well with their whole menu, but I chose to stick with the brunch vibe and order a breakfast burger. I absolutely love this low-key, cozy restaurant! The service is always great and I love that they offer both indoor and outdoor seating.

Texas Toast Grilled Cheese

"Father's Day at JD's: Where the Burgers Slap, the Staff Shines, and the Bourbon Goes Down Singing 'God Bless Texas'" Let's get one thing straight: I didn't come to JD's Hamburgers to play games. I came to eat like a man honored for keeping two daughters alive into adulthood. And buddy, they delivered. It was Father's Day. I had my wife on one side, my oldest daughter on the other, and a ravenous hunger in my soul that only a specialty burger joint could fix. We rolled in right at 11:00am--beat the crowd, beat the rain, and most importantly, beat the "sorry, there's a wait" conversation. The Scene: The moment we walked in, it was like the hostess had been training for this moment her whole life. Friendly, quick, efficient -- like a Southwest gate agent with snacks. They got us seated inside, away from the rain, and right in the heart of this cozy Fort Worth gem. The staff? Spectacular. The vibe? Homey with just enough honky tonk. The soundtrack? I don't remember the music--because the TV at the bar was playing a Texas A&M football rerun, and honestly? That was the exact kind of background noise this dad needed. A touchdown throw, a sizzle from the kitchen, and a bourbon cocktail in hand? That's peace. The Meal: Let's talk meat, y'all. I came in hoping for the legendary Buford T, which made waves at Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival. Sadly, it wasn't on the menu yet. But what I did get? An off-menu special so over-the-top it could've been featured on a Food Network showdown. A burger topped with: * Crispy hash browns (because fries on the side is amateur hour) * A perfectly cooked fried egg * Grilled jalapeños with just enough kick to make me question my life choices * Cheddar cheese, gooey like a Hallmark movie ending * And a creamy sriracha sauce that gave it attitude All served on a sourdough bun so good I wanted to write it a thank-you card. I added a side of onion rings that were crunchier than my knees in the morning. Golden, crispy, and seasoned just right. One bite in and I almost called my doctor. My wife ordered the Texas Toast Grilled Cheese, which was basically a love letter from dairy. Three cheeses (Monterey Jack, American, and Swiss) grilled to gooey perfection on buttered toast that tasted like it grew up in Sunday school and got a little wild in college. My daughter went classic with the Allie Mae & JD burger--lettuce, tomato, pickles, caramelized onions, and that mystery magic "Sister Sauce." One bite and she gave me that look that said, "I'm not sharing, Dad. Don't even ask." The Beverage: I wasn't about to celebrate Father's Day without a little bourbon therapy. Enter: the Parker County Peach Smash -- Makers Mark, fresh peaches, mint, lemon juice, ginger beer, and the kind of Southern charm that makes you say "Mmm" out loud without shame. It was so good, I ordered a second. Because it's Father's Day. And because I could. TL;DR: JD's Hamburgers is what happens when great people serve great food with great timing. From the top-tier staff to the house-made sauce to a bourbon peach cocktail that deserves its own state fair ribbon -- this place flat-out gets it right. And if you can enjoy it with a football game in the background, even when it's not football season, that's called ambience. Would I go back? I'd go back in a monsoon, barefoot, carrying both daughters and a lawn chair. Signed, Brisket & Banter -- Still Full, Still Punny Lover of BBQ, bourbon, burgers, and the women who keep me from eating like this daily.

From the moment I walked through the door, I knew this wasn't going to be ordinary. The space is opulent, sexy, and unmistakably a vibe. Think mid-century modern meets art deco, but done with intention--every detail feels curated, not accidental. Even the bathrooms are stunning, which says a lot about how much thought has gone into the entire experience. And then there's the food and service--both matched that first impression perfectly. Phenomenal across the board. Every dish felt elevated and purposeful, but the standouts for our table were the steak, the crab hush puppies, Brussel sprouts, date cake and the rhubarb dessert. Each one was memorable in its own way and executed flawlessly. What really sets The Mont apart, though, is their ability to deliver at a high level for groups. I brought in our senior leadership team for a dinner where I needed to impress--and they exceeded every expectation. The patio alone is to die for, and the team handles large parties with a level of polish and ease that's rare. A huge shoutout to Orio, the general manager, who made the entire evening seamless. She thought of everything--literally everything--including sending us off with breakfast pastries for the next morning. That level of care and anticipation is what turns a great dinner into an unforgettable experience. From beginning to end, it was perfect. There's no official kids' menu, but they do have options if you ask. My son had the chicken tenders and tots -- a decent portion and they tasted good. My husband and I tried the HH oysters, the burger, and the fish dip. Everything was quite tasty. We're already planning a return visit! Also glad it's finally warming up so we can take advantage of the patio. It's a bit too dark inside for my personal preference, but I get the vibe they're going for.

We each ordered the pecan old fashioned and they were dangerously delicious- not overly sweet like I was worried about. The branded orange peel was a nice, fun touch. We got the lasagna and the ragu. You know the lasagna was good when your man was talking about it two hours later! I was really impressed with the amount of meat in the ragu- and it melted in your mouth. The paperdelle was a smidge over cooked, but I almost don't want to mention that because it was so good. And the portion was huge-SO much food! We sat near the bar/kitchen so we saw all the food coming out and it all looked good. We were stuffed but ordered the tiramisu anyway because it looked so good. And it was. The service is what really set these guys apart. The staff worked really well together and everyone was taking care of each other's tables. Fantastic choice! The menu is very "urban hipster" vibes. Plenty of burgers, lots of fun appetizers, charcuterie, one of my friends has some dietary restrictions and they were easily able to accommodate her needs which made us all very happy. This spot has a great bar in the front, and a smaller bar in the rear of the place. Outdoor seating as well as covered seating. Plenty of shade as well which will serve their patrons nicely in the coming Texas summer months. This is also a dog friendly dining spot, plenty of people were there with some amazing canine companions (always ask before you pet a strangers pup, it's just polite and courteous. Almost no one says No!). Assuming you don't have a dog allergy, this will hopefully be a feature. There is a relatively new apartment complex across the street and I get the feeling a lot of the people stopping in were regulars who bring in their dogs during walkies and grab a bite before heading back home, but that is just pure conjecture on my part. Either way, it was a fun inviting atmosphere. The music was nice, not too loud for my old man ears to enjoy but still present enough to be part of the evening without being intrusive. Staff was very nice, helpful, friendly, etc. Everything one would expect from a fine Texas eatery. Lots of spicier options on the menu if you're into that, but by no means anything overpowering. My guess is the owner has stock in some jalapeno growers farm somewhere and the food is all the better for it! If you're in the area already or if you're thinking of branching out for a nice new burger spot, this place is great and I will be returning. I live nearby so it'll likely become part of the regular rotation for us in the coming months. We are spoiled for choice in this area when it comes to good burgers being close to Grumps, close to Kincaid's, and close to Tommy's up on Camp Bowie. But this place competes on good burgers and if you're looking for a fun hangout atmosphere, you'd be hard pressed to find better. Easily recommended! Give them a try, I don't think you'll regret it!
