It was crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside and exactly the kind of comfort food you hope for. Lots of Americana items adorn the walls and open spaces. Pretty cool vibes here. They have live music on Sunday and Wednesday nights, full bars, and plenty of seating. We had a reservation for Saturday brunch at 10:00 AM. Turns out they also open at ten. I mention this because the doors were, of course, locked until exactly the stroke of ten. We were greeted and welcomed in by the hostess, and were seated immediately. Our server Keith was friendly and knowledgeable. He recommended the shrimp and grits, which I ordered. Another favorite there is The Rim Breakfast. My lovely bride ordered that and it looked delicious. My shrimp and grits were good but it was supposed to have come with some red gravy. What I got was a broth that watered down the grits instead of enhancing them. Kind of a downer. I mentioned to Keith but he doubled down on the broth being gravy. As I said they had just opened. Second time at the Rim tonight. We started off with the queso and house chips as our appetizer. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and a side of house chips. I ordered the triple meat, pizza and the wedge salad. We were extremely disappointed in the chicken fried steak. The crust fell off and the meat was very tough and lacked any seasoning at all. We had the chicken fried steak removed from our table and the waitress didn't even bother to ask what was wrong with the meal. read more

We had a double date with our friends on Friday night ! We alternate who picks the plans for the date ! This was their choice and it was a fabulous choice ! It's been a while since I've been to The Rim, probably about a year. My friends and I love to have b-day dinners at this place. The atmosphere is live and happening. The service is top-notch and the food never disappoints. We had a huge party this time, over 12 people. The service was fantastic and they stayed on top of it the whole time. The absolute worst Mother's Day brunch. Arrived at 9:30 am with reservations. Most of the food was cold and way over cooked on the buffet. The buffet and service was disorganized and staff was unfamiliar with brunch menu and special drinks. $5 drinks were $10 and $9 on the bill. Yogurt station with berries and granola was delicious but you had to spoon it on a plate - no bowls. Very disappointing! Social media had excellent marketing but it didn't live up to the hype. We had Brunch with 17 people on a Saturday morning at 10a when the restaurant first opened and we were treated like royalty! Our waiter, Keith, was amazing. Came here for dinner with a party of five on a Saturday night and we had a terrible experience. First, the server assumed several of us didn't speak English and also assumed we spoke Spanish. I found this very disrespectful. Second, the wait for food took at least an hour. My aunt's fish tacos were not delivered when the rest of our food was delivered. Eventually, they brought them out and I noticed the server then return about 5 minutes later with a different plate of fish tacos. It seems like the communication with the kitchen is very poor. If I could give zero stars, I would!! My sister and I chose The Rim for Sunday brunch before going to catch a movie.....NEVER AGAIN!! My sister had a question about a menu item and instead of our waiter Nathan saying let me check, his immediate answer was "no" followed by an excuse. He wasn't the greatest at serving to begin with, but we were hungry so we gave him grace. The food comes out and as we are enjoying it, a bug crawls across my plate and up onto my fork. Prior to the food coming out, our table was clean and we were sitting for at least 45 minutes before receiving our food which leads me to believe the kitchen is not up to par. Our waiter was nowhere around so we grabbed the waitress passing by. She took the plate to the back, not even stunned or alarmed that there was even a bug on the plate. Neither our waiter nor the manager, Jose, came out to address the issue. My sister had to flag our waiter down to let him know we were leaving.
