Gemelle is a cute spot to go with your girlfriends. They have a nice patio area and limited seating inside. My sister and I came while they are promoting their "Girl Dinner". We made a reservation and were sat immediately. Service was slow, even though there weren't many people there, with many tables waiting for their food. As for the meal, we both really liked our food. The girl dinner comes with a small Caesar salad, cacio e Pepe pasta, truffle fries, and an espresso martini. The pasta and the fries were delicious, and the espresso martini was one of the best I've had in Fort Worth. The advertisement for the girl dinner is misleading, with the images on the ad being full sized when in reality the portions are smaller. However, I'm glad I didn't receive the full size portions because it was the perfect amount of food and I did not leave hungry. I would return to Gemelle, especially during the warmer months to fully enjoy their patio. read more

We arrived on a Wednesday at 4:30 pm. We were the only ones there and the hostess wanted to know if we had a reservation. No we did not. She seated us at the smallest table in the restaurant. She gave us a menu and cold water and we did not see her again for 10 minutes. She finally came to get our order. She did not ask if we had an questions even though we told her it was our first time here. We ordered an appetizer. We ordered the mozzarella and eggplant sticks. They were ok but not memorable. Appetizer came out quickly. Music is playing from the 70's . Louder than I would have liked. Hard to talk over. Pizza took 20 minutes. It was very small for the $22. 6 small pieces. Waitress came by to ask how everything tasted. Pizza was ok but I have had better other places. We ordered deep dish pizza. Here again it was ok but not memorable. Visited Gemelle for dinner for the first time this week. Our server, Ashton, greeted us the minute we arrived and provided us fabulous service the entire time. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with fried chicken. I expected the chicken to be served IN the fettuccine but they were plated separately. Not a major deal so I was excited to dive in. The chicken was a little bland but had a nice crispy crust. The fettuccine was such a disappointment. The flavor was atrocious and I left most of it on the plate. I honestly think a frozen fettuccine alfredo could beat this. My friends each had pizza and they were relatively pleased with the taste although they said it was nothing spectacular. In summary, we had great service but were disappointed in our entrees. Can't say I'd recommend the restaurant and don't feel compelled to return. read more

I've been here 4 times hoping the experience would be better, but three of the four times have been bad experiences. Today's experience warrants a review. From now on, when my friends suggest this place I will be warning them against it. First, I was with a party of six and had by far the least complex dish. It was noodles, sauce, and pancetta. Everyone else got an actual dinner style meal, yet I received my food five to ten minutes after everyone else. My noodles and pancetta cost $28. Near the same price per dish as everyone at my table, but with significantly less food and protein. It was good, but that dish should've cost no more than $12/$13. Then, we ordered dessert. While it was very good, the other two people at my table had slices double the size of mine. They had full size, square slices while I had a half sized rectangular slice. If the two other people at my table hadn't ordered the same thing, I would've never known that I paid the same exact amount for half as much food. This place is very cute, but the experience does not match the aesthetic. Edit: I had to come back to say that in the hour we were there, they played four Katy Perry songs with three of them played in a row. Also double Sabrina Carpenter and double Olivia Rodrigo. First, the place is super cool. Very unique and a fun place to go eat and relax with friends. The food was hit and miss, with some really great dishes (bucatini was fantastic) and some ok ones (meatballs). Nothing was bad. Biggest issue honestly are the portions for the cost. My wife and I had dinner with an another couple. We ordered two appetizers (truffle fries and salad), which were both good. I ordered a pasta as did my friend. My wife and her friend shared a pasta and a pizza. My friend and I both had to order another dish because we were just still hungry. And neither of us are big guys. I honestly thought the pasta they brought me was a split portion not the full one. For $31, I should not have to order something else in order to have a full meal. And again, I'm not a big guy. We both had pizzas and tiramisu. The food was mediocre. The ambiance is something I would expect downtown. Not in the middle of residential neighborhoods. The music was way too loud and acoustically off. It was painful to listen to. The tables inside are way too close together. There is no privacy for conversation. The inside was dirty. The wall, electrical lines, switches, curtains, window sills, and ceiling were dirty and covered in spider webs. The table we were sat at was off balance at the base attachment. Someone tried to fix it by using coasters but that wasn't where the problem was. I had to keep my arm and weight on the table the entire time. The attached Hotel Otto's laundry exhaust wafts into the restaurant overpowering the food smells with VOC's from the detergents and softeners. The manager seems to have the standards of an Applebees. He certainly presented himself to be sub par to what was expected at Gemelle by Tim Love. The young lady waitress was efficient and polite. I feel bad for the waitresses having to wear such short skirts. I can't imagine the harassment they receive, again not what was is expected at a neighborhood restaurant surrounded by families. Perhaps Tim Love was planning for a younger crowd full of swifties. In any case, we do not recommend Gemelle. You can get more bang for your buck elsewhere and hear what your companions are saying in a cleaner environment. read more

We've been there numerous times, really enjoy it. Usually get a pasta dish, decided to try the chicken dishes. Wife had the scallopini, I had the roasted chicken. Had the shrimp and calamari app and a "unique " white wine. We've had the shrimp app before, this time it was ext salty. Her scallopini was dry, salad was good. My lemon roasted chicken was cook excellently,subtle bursts of lemon until the salt hit. All 3 dishes were good but extremely salty. Our white wine from the unique list was not chilled. They did substitute another wine but all whites on the menu should be chilled. We'll be back, as we enjoy the pasta dishes and ambience of the patio. Another standout spot in the Forth Worth area! This restaurant attached to a micro-hotel has a peaceful and cute backyard area with fun photo ops and the hotel pool. The ambiance and is sweet and feminine, and they even have a local restaurant cat named Wednesday who hangs around! We started with the breadsticks, and while they look simple, man do they pack flavor! Both dipping sauces were awesome and the Parmesan and garlic flavors were exactly what you want them to be. For my main I went for the preserved lemon and garlic half chicken, which came with crispy Parmesan potatoes and summer squash tossed in pesto. The flavors were incredible! The chicken was filling and flavorful, and the potatoes were to die for and perfectly crispy. The squash and pesto combo was new for me and so refreshing and different! We also enjoyed the crispy chicken with fettuccini Alfredo and pesto pasta, and both were cooked perfectly - the crispy chicken is the perfect kind that often comes with chicken parm. The service may have been a little slow, but it was still very friendly and we had a great time enjoying the meal and never felt rushed. I'd love to come back! read more

Came here for valentine's day and was so excited but soooo disappointed. To start, my boyfriend and I made a reservation a little over a month ago for tonight, we were brought out to a table on the patio next to the door which was incredibly loud ruining the ambiance. People were coming in and out every minute. When asking to move to one of the many empty tables on the patio, they were unfortunately unable to accommodate us due to "reservations and walk ins" which was severely disappointing because we ourselves were a reservation and it was not busy. However not the waitress's fault, the service was good and I ordered a drink and barely touched it, my waitress offered to swap it out and she answered several of my questions about the menu. However, at the end of the service we weren't wished a good night which is always important to me as a server myself, she just removed plates from the table. When it came to the food, it was incredibly bland and my boyfriend compared it to walmart food. We ordered the breadsticks and it was just okay, the fettuccine alfredo was very subpar and the house pizza was bland. The fettuccine was undercooked and barely had any flavor, and the crispy chicken was extremely salty. My boyfriend ordered the house pizza with jalapeños and the jalapeños were soft and soggy. I also ordered a side of the smashed crispy potatoes but unfortunately never received them. I was super disappointed in our visit especially it being our first valentine's day together. The absolute worst Service ever experienced while dinning out. We drive by this place daily and have always wanted to stop by. Today we arrived and was impressed by the bar area but opted to sit outside on the patio. A large group of 13 yr old teen girls we're celebrating a birthday. No biggie really. They were loud and having fun. The couple with the teens had a table next to us and apologized. The teens weren't really that bad. We ordered a pizza for an appetizer, split a antipasto salad and chicken fettuccine Alfredo. Pizza was good, but had way too much cheese. The salad had a nice dressing and the pasta never arrived and were never offered refills. We had to ask for both. Our server had nothing to do with the other tables outside. The teens would head out to the garden area (the rest promotes growing their own spices) so it got quiet until the 2 other couples joined the couple sitting next to us who stood talking for what seemed like for ever. Literally hovering over us. I had to excuse myself, asked for the check and left. Should be noted they took off the price for the fettuccine and handed us the order to go. Complimentary. Came here for date night and was absolutely blown away by how adorable this place is. Gemelle is very intimate and cute, perfect for a date. We sat outside because the weather was amazing on this day. My husband ordered the Margherita pizza and I had the pepperoni Jalapeño house pizza. Their pizzas are so amazingly delicious. The house pizza was packed with flavor both sweet, spicy, and was definitely my favorite. I had both a Limoncello Spritz, and an Aperol Spritz. Although not an Aperol Spritz fan, the Limoncello was great. I left out of there a bit tipsy. Their staff is friendly and gave us fun information about the restaurant, like the fact that they grow their own vegetables, and you can go see their garden. And the fried artichokes didn't have a sauce just here are some fried artichokes. The signature drink is off putting as well. The first sip you think yum but after two or three it just becomes overwhelming and not refreshing. It's got a a place for bands to perform and a nice patio and lawn area but I just didn't find anything on the menu that I would want to come back for. Let me start off by saying the servers were great and kept a positive attitude while handling a large group in the heat! My group is mainly service industry so we are very empathetic towards servers and know how to roll with the punches. Overall the experience was a let down because mainly the space was oversold and under delivered and honestly very misleading to get my booking for this "private" event. When we originally discussed my inquiry for a party of 22 I was told there was space on the "air conditioned" portico and that we would be able to do the full menu because there was no option for a "non private". This was really the first misleading point but I quickly wanted to book because a "private" event on the "air conditioned" patio sounded fabulous! I told my guests we had the patio to ourselves and that it was air conditioned. This statement definitely made me a liar but I made the mistake of not drilling down with more questions. A "space" shouldn't be sold to be people under the guise of being private when there was nothing private about it. I told the waitstaff when we got there that I was under the impression I rented the whole patio. She replied with oh no that full rent out starts at about 5,000. That information was never given to me. What it ended up being was uneven tables by the railing of the patio in the sun with 22 chairs scrunched together. I was demanded to set a food and beverage minimum and everything be on one check for this???? Like I said my guests are mostly service industry so they roll with the punches but honestly this gave more ease to the staff than the customer. I then asked the wait staff to pull the table out because they gave about a foot and a half space to pull the chair out before you ran into the wall and to add another table so my guests weren't sitting on top of one another. For the next misleading point was the "air conditioned" patio. That is a joke. I wrote in earlier in the day to ask if the sides were down and the air condition was running and I was told, "the cold air was blowing." A maybe 4 foot high very small water cooler on the side of the room that was being moved around because people were melting doesn't qualify as "air condition" when in actuality it's just a larger fan. Luckily my table rolled with the punches and knew from the beginning when I told them it was air conditioned, they didn't trust it. I ended up spending almost 2,000 dollars for a subpar evening because things were not made clear. Im not asking y'all for anything in return and know I signed the contract and have paid my bill but I'm really disappointed in how this "private/non private" event was handled yesterday. I do take responsibility in not asking more questions but do think y'all are selling something that is very misleading and y'all should be more open with customers going forward than being vague and leaving things open to interpretation only to get the booking. I hope this is received well in that it's not an attack but more feedback. read more

Like buoyancy and gravity pulling against each other, five star atmosphere is dragged down by two star food in this entrepreneurial experiment from restaurateur Tim Love. The reason reviews for Gemelle are all over the map is that it's hard not to have some strong reaction to this place. We were wowed by the design, sense of vision, and the well dressed clientele, then underwhelmed by the food as we were eaten by mosquitos. As for the atmosphere, inside dining and bar have trendy lighting and design. Outdoor seating is part elevated deck, part lower garden with a satellite bar, patio tables, a bocce court, built around beds of vegetables growing for use by the restaurant. Once we sat down on the deck, I was continuously bitten by mosquitos. Then, the food did not deliver even close to what the atmosphere promised. Despite this, Gemelle may still work for some customers. If you're going to do it, here are some tips I'd offer. 1) If you're going to sit outside *definitely* cover yourself with bug spray. We sat on the deck and the next day I had twenty bites on my arms and back. I couldn't help thinking this would SUCK from a Covid spread perspective were I not fully vaccinated. 2) Make a reservation. We went Thursday at 8 and there was a wait. 3) Bring a salt shaker, unless you like bland food. By bland, I mean "send it back, this can't be right" bland. Might pack a shot of vodka too. The drinks are light. 4) Don't expect authentic Italian cuisine, even though its marketed as such. The Detroit Style Deep Dish (Sicilian) pizza just isn't. The edges of mine were overdone, ingredients and cheese were concentrated in the middle, and the crust was not right. The middle was amazing. But, this isn't Cane Rosso where pizza only happens in the middle of the pie. If it's ehffing Sicilian, it needs to be right. The Fried Baby Artichokes, Lemon and Parmesan was over cooked and had no lemon taste whatsoever. We asked to change it out and went with the breadsticks, also bland. The pesto made it a little interesting. 5) They charge $1.25 for a side of dressing for dipping. This is typically a death knell, a sign that management is counting beans so closely they must be struggling. I can't see that here, so it just came off as kinduva dick move. Hell, Chili's will give you a ramakin of ranch to dip fries in without charging. This upscale place with menu items above $30 needs to charge me for a little cup? 6) Our server Lisa was great, like mega thumbs up. The bartender was awkward and kinda slow to wipe food debris from the bar in front of me as I sat there. The manager was friendly, personable, and accommodating when we didn't like the appetizer and took it off the ticket. 7) The lower level patio, the coolest part of the venue, is not open all the time. And, there's no schedule for this per se. You just have to call ahead. This kinda sucks if you want to time your visit when it's not too busy in order to enjoy this very cool cultivated space. So, my thought is the target market is not foodies, but people who like a sense of atmosphere and society, but could care less how interesting the food is. If you want Detroit Deep Dish, try Jets. For drinks, The Amber Room. Better Italian can be found all over Fort Worth. But, Gemelle has a one of a kind vibe. So, I recommend with a 3 and some caution. read more

HUGE LET DOWN! My daughter made reservations wanting to try something NEW! Made a 2:15 reservation (empty dinning room) for 3 myself, and two teen girls.We walked in around 2:20. We stood in the doorway never being greeted (staff assumed we were with another party). After overhearing a server ask them if they had reservations I raised my voice informing the staff that we were waiting to be seated. Again, keep in mind the entire bar and dinning room empty. She proceeds to seat us. We went to the patio area, looked over the menu and were ready to order... I realized they never took our drink order. At this time we sat there the 3 of us in the middle of the patio listening to every table being asked if they needed something. I then said to my daughters they have 10 min to ask us what we'd like to drink. After sitting for 20 min no one came. Not once!! Passing us back and forth over our shoulders... They clearly didn't want our business if you catch my drift! I don't write reviews like this as some can come off ignorant. But!! The shoe fits at this establishment... I addressed the manager, her response was "what table where you sitting out?". I ordered the Boomtown 2.0 which came with wild mushrooms, goat cheese, and asparagus- Detroit style. The pizza would have been way better without the asparagus but I did enjoy the pizza.
