For #DateNight my hubby and I drove down W. Magnolia until we found something interesting. We picked a quaint Italian spot that we will definitely visit again. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. It's BYOB or you can purchase a glass or bottle from the lounge next door and bring it back to enjoy it while you have your meal. They only take cash, checks or Euros, which we thought was cool because we still have some from previous trips to be able use there someday. I only removed one star because my husband was told the Limone E Spinaci was better than Alfredo, which is the type of meal he wanted, but he disagreed. He thought it was just okay. I said it was excellent, but that's probably because I'm lactose intolerant and can't have cheese like him. I was excited just at the fact of trying a forkful of his meal. read more

A cash only, hole in the wall Italian restaurant? yes PLEASE!!!! Not only that, but it's BYOB with only a $3 corkage fee and the staff is kind and conscientious. The patio dining is laid back and honestly reminds me of the neighborhood Italian spots I grew up going to in Chicago. The food is really great as well - the chocolate mousse is a must get. While my arrabbiata was lacking in the heat I was looking for, I'm still thinking about my friend's ricotta gnocchi. So divine. read more

If you're looking for homemade authentic Italian food in Fort Worth this is your spot just remember to bring cash or euros to pay for your meal no cards are accepted. Service is great you can also bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with your meal. I recommend you sit out in their little patio to eat and enjoy your wine. read more

I came here because I live in Fort Worth. It was on a whim. I was wanting some Italian food. The waitress was very kind and she recommended to spend the extra five dollars to have the homemade pasta and let me tell you you want to spend the extra money to get the homemade pasta because it is unbelievable. The food was delicious. It is BYOB so you can bring your own alcohol, but luckily the lazy moose is right next to it. Highly recommend this place. It is unbelievably good. read more

Hadn't been in a while, so we decided to renew our acquaintance with this little gem. Donatella did not disappoint!! The pasta is still homemade and the specialities are all instant classics. The food is prepared with love and Donatella, herself, is the hardest working chef in the kitchen. One may have to wait for a seating, but with BYOB, time passes by quickly. read more

Ambience- small, was quiet, not busy (only one other couple), super fast service, intimate Food - focaccia was sooo yummy. We got Chicken picatta and chicken Milanese. Both were good but the chicken in the picatta was a lot better and less chewy. Both came with a penne and arrabiata sauce. It was good and a good price ($50 total with a small Ceasar salad without tip). I would come back again and try something where you get more of a mountain of pasta. I would come back but it's not the best Italian I've ever had. I've decided I will give it another chance bc it's so charming. Ceasar was good. The dishes we got just weren't anything special? Service - excellent; super nice Overall : skip out on the chicken Milanese in my opinion; maybe get the chicken picatta but it just wasn't anything I would come back for; try one of the big pasta dishes. read more

We love having such delicious food and great service in the neighborhood! We really enjoyed the special with mushrooms.

Always worth the wait! The focaccia is unmatched, and every time we try a new dish it exceeds expectations! Great spot for a date night or just delicious dinner! read more

We have been going there for about 20 years (since shortly after it opened). The food is always great, the service is very friendly, and being BYOB really lowers the check. I only wish they still made the antipasto platter - it was over the moon. They prepared it between the lunch and dinner services. Since they are no longer open for lunch, no time to make it. read more

The food was ok. They really rush you to eat and get out. Not a big selection on the menu. Been there, done that...

Don't let the cash/check only policy and the 6 indoor dining tables discourage you from trying this place out. Not going to lie, I was pretty skeptical about the merits of this restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by the food. Everything was delicious and well cooked. They make a mean calamari that is tender and not over cooked at all. It's different from the calamari you would usually expect at Italian restaurants since it's not fried... nonetheless, it was so tasty. The pasta was boiled to perfection. I had no complaints about the food whatsoever. I had a wonderful experience asides from the 1 hour wait (so come early) :) PSA: They are BYOB! read more

Great food and service. We enjoyed sitting in the patio area and it was a nice, laid back vibe. Serving sizes were really good as well. Tiramisu was 10/10 read more

To start off, this place is cash or check only but don't let that keep you from visiting. It's worth stopping somewhere to grab cash beforehand. It's also BYOB and to save a few dollars ($3/glass), bring your own wine glass if you're bringing something that's not bottled. The experience is great if your goal is to have a dinner that tastes amazing but this is not somewhere you come and have a romantic dinner for a date night. The bruschetta was a small portion and I'm not the biggest fan of balsamic but every bite was memorable. The Caesar salad and Pollo Alla Milanese entree were a good size and the dishwasher didn't have to clean much cause I licked the plates clean. My girlfriend also really enjoyed her lentil soup and gnocchi. The service was good but not very fast. Overall, I'm happy that I didn't listen to the negative reviews here on Yelp and got to experience this place. read more

A solid choice for provincial Italian cuisine. We met friends there who had dined there before and we were not disappointed. I had the Firenze 07. Which was a rustic pasta dish with carrots and walnuts and sausage in a red sauce. All entrees come with a piece of light focaccia bread. One of our friends had the pesto. Another one had another pasta dish. My husband had a lemon chicken in a cream sauce that he wasn't expecting, but it was still good. Now know it's BYOB. You can bring in beer or you can bring in your own wine. Our friends brought in a bottle and they brought in four wine glasses, ( the restaurant will charge a three dollar per glass one time pour fee per person if you use theirs ) and we brought in our own bottle of Cabernet too. So we have plenty to go around. It's very small inside very intimate. You are packed right on top of other diners, but the patio is more comfortable and that's what I recommend even in the cold because they have enclosed in vinyl and there is a heater. We lingered after dinner. We had no problem dealing with the patio setting. About the most obtrusive thing would be when people parked and turned on their lights, and then it would glare into the patio area. But that's really nitpicky. We had a great time. Our server was amazing. She was attentive and helpful. We will definitely go back. And to say that is probably the best compliment a restaurant could receive. read more

The food is phenomenally authentic!! I was absolutely impressed with all of the amazing flavors! Irene our server was awesome & attentive! She's been there for 9 years which says a lot nowadays! She made good recommendations! She was extremely sweet. The location is a small hole in the wall with outdoor seating & covered patio areas as well! It was cozy, welcoming & warm! It was quite chilly outside! I'm part Sicilian & had a daddy who cooked delicious authentic Italian food. This place is an absolute GEM !! They have homemade pasta & everything is made to order & fresh. This is my new go to for authentic Italian food! Il cibo è molto buono read more

We threw a lot of the food away. It tasted that bad! The bread like items were horrific!! I understand a lot of people appreciate this food but I grew up eating real Italian! This food was extremely disappointing! read more

My son and I were so excited to visit this place. I enjoy the small, hole-in-the-wall restaurants. However, I was very disappointed in the food. The server was very kind. She did comp my food. But, when it said Italian, I expected that. However, it was far from that. The Calamari was soggy... it was supposed to be seared. The pasta tasted like they just poured a jar of ragu sauce in and called it a day. The chicken was slimy and again, looked like a jar of Alfredo was poured. My son ordered the carbonara. He told me afterwards that my knock-off bacon pasta is way better. This was supposed to be a good dinner with my son, but we ended up walking away disappointed. read more

Love this place and the food and atmosphere. Save room for apple Pear cake! Bar next door for beers or drinks while you wait.

Such a unique concept with high quality authentic food! We went on a weekday so it wasn't too much of a wait but it is smaller so I would come right at opening since so many people love this place! Our server was extremely kind and patient with us; she really took time to help us order and was really attentive to what we needed. We loved everything we ordered! Especially the truffle dish and the focaccia. It was a perfect birthday dinner for my mom and a beautifully decorated restaurant. We've been once a long time ago before this and will likely be back for another occasion! read more

Pretty good service although they were beyond packed. We went in the Fall on one of the cool nights in November and sat on the patio. The patio is enclosed and warm. I didn't realize they were byob otherwise we would've brought our own wine, next time. The food was good, but the tiramisu was better. I also tried the panna cotta because why not? I'd go back on a less busy day, if those exist, and try something different on the menu, it was otherwise an enjoyable experience. read more

The food was subpar. I ordered the gnocchi and was disappointed. Pretty dry and not a lot of sauce with the dish. The service was a bit slow. Eating on the patio is not the same ambiance as inside, so I recommend holding out for a table inside. Also, remember to bring cash. My husband had to go on an ATM hunt which took 20 mins because there aren't any ATMs nearby walking distance. read more

Great food (appetizers and pastas), cosy atmosphere, BYOB. Will return for the authentic food and unique experience.

This was my first time trying this establishment on 06/22/24, and we will definitely be back. I was on a mission to find authentic Lasagne All Bolognese, so my husband told me about this place. I ordered the Lasagne with a Caesar salad, and my husband ordered the Vitello Ai Funghi, and for dessert, we had the Panna Cotta. The food here is really fresh and delicious. The noodles were homemade and light. The restaurant is tiny but adorable on the inside, seating no more than 20 people. With larger tables and seating outside. I would recommend coming in before they open or after dark hours during the summertime. Our waitress was great. She was kind and would answer any question with a smile. If you are looking for amazing authentic Italian food, look no further!! read more

Nonna Tata remains a favorite. Great pasta, affordable prices, from the owner's traditional family recipes from (Northern) Italy. Now that seating has expanded to the outside tent and to the sidewalk, it is so much easier to get a table at this restaurant. Most recently I had the pasta with lamb sausage - bursting with flavors. Penne Pasta cooked al dente-perfectly. The focaccia is always delicious - oily and salty. Sid salad comes with it. My friend had the tenderloin and arugula -- tender and juicy. Servers are attentive and prompt. No liquor license, so be sure to bring a nice bottle of Italian wine to pair with your meal. She has started charging $3 per glass (for washing and breakage), but what a bargain compared to most places that gouge you for a much higher corkage fee. Cash only. Grazie. read more

This literal "whole in the wall" authentic Italian restaurant is in the heart of Near Southside Ft Worth with a multitude of other shops, restaurants, bars and music near by. The indoor seating can seat 20 people (no typo) but the outdoor seating is a good amount. The large outdoor space is enclosed with thick plastic walls that can be opened or closed, depending on the weather. We have sat outside in both warm and cool weather and was fine. We have not sat outside during excessive Texas heat. I believe they had heat in the outdoor space but no AC -- could double check, this could have changed. They also have sidewalk seating that is awesome in the great spring & fall Texas evenings. This CASH OR CHECK ONLY, dinner only served & BYOB. The couple next to us grabbed drinks from the bar next door and brought them over, which I had no idea they did that. There is also a liquor store just up the road on the opposite side of the street that you could hit before coming. They do charge $3/glass or bring our own for no fee. They do NOT take reservations over the phone and we have never been when there wasn't a wait (even before they open there is a line to get in). The food is very good with daily specials. In the pictures is appetizer mascarpone with home made pear & fig preserves, bread cabbage soup (soup of the day), lamb ragú (daily special) & flatbread (daily special) with mushrooms, arugula, shave Parmesan and balsamic. All were very good, the soup was amazing. The only complaint was the flatbread was barely warm and the balsamic was on the bread so it was getting soggy by the time it got to me. My error is I assumed the flatbread would have some crispness to it since that is how other flatbread pizzas I have had were served. After 1 piece it was cold and getting more soggy. The flavor was good (added red pepper flakes) & the ingredients were abundant. This was listed as an appetizer, so it was definitely shareable. The service is quick & friendly and food has always come out pretty quickly. We have & will continue to recommend Nonna Tata. read more

Tips for Nonna. There is a lot more tables now. So the wait likely won't be as long as it was prior as long as you don't mind sitting outside. It's BYOB. Bring a bottle of wine or some beer. *Cash/ Check ONLY here* Upon entering....If I had been walking any faster, I would have run into the kitchen bc there were a few tiny tables to sit at inside (most of the seating is outside/ thrown up on the curb). We started with the bruschetta....our mouths were assaulted by the deep and overpowering taste of vinegar....so we set it aside. It was the worst bruschetta I've ever had in my entire existence. We ordered the gamberi w. homemade pasta and the carbonara. The gamberi was......ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! All that I could taste was chicken bullion/ bullion cubes and it was unbelievably salty...so I pushed my plate of nonsense....overhyped NONSENSE to the side. The carbonara was dry and tasted like......NOTHING. We got everything packed up to be nice and placed the food where it belonged.....in the trash. I don't enjoy writing reviews like this, but this was our reality. It got SUPER REAL having to hand over hard-earned money for this gutter meal. We were asked if we wanted to order dessert and stopped while we were ahead. We went to enjoy dinner after this place (round II). You all can have this place. LOL My GOSH! read more

I was really excited to try this place after hearing great things! Our experience was just okay. The waitress seemed rushed and wasn't very helpful when we asked for recommendations.
