The menu is wonderful, if you love hard to find wild game and excellent northern Italian cooking! I think the Buffalo is a must try! They have an excellent wine menu as well, and Chef Carlo brings decades of experience to the table. You cannot go wrong in this wonderful restaurant and the prices are fair. Very professional waiters who know their inventory and wait on your party with Joy! This used to be a restaurant called Fitzgerald's, which was actually mostly a bar. But Bella Italian West has taken it to a new level with an excellent buildout, and you have the feeling you're sitting in a nice, expensive Palm Springs restaurant bar. It's a gorgeous place inside. Be sure and have a reservation. We arrived at 5:30 PM, right before a big crowd arrived. The service was exceptional and the ambience was especially nice. It was not overly noisy, even with that many people I had the elk which was wonderful. Probably not the best place for big eaters as the portions were perfect for all of us at the table, but we all cleaned our plates. Nice wine by the glass. We walked in last night after a portrait session next door and was turned away due to not being dressed as business casual. Our photo session was themed as western formal and while they welcomed our $6500 for portraits, Bella Italia turned us away and the lady (I'm guessing floor manager) was extremely rude and laughed at us. I was looking forward to trying Bella Italia's new location. The old location looked very run down and had never tried it. My husband and I walked in about 6:15 on a Saturday night. The restaurant was very nice but we didn't see anyone seated. We were asked if we had a reservation. Since we did not, we were told that they were booked up for the night but there was seating at the bar. We were not dressed up but had on nice jeans. Apparently there is a dress code that we were not aware of. There are 2 darkened doors you have to walk through to get in. I questioned if they were even open. Once we walked in, I saw the dress code sign. We tried to sit at the end of the bar near the door but were told it was reserved so we sat more towards the center. There was no one at the bar and no reserved sign. Who reserves bar seating anyway? I felt like the hostess and bartenders were looking down their nose at us and it was uncomfortable. Service was slow and we had to ask the bartender to refill our water glasses. Granted there was hardly anyone in the restaurant and quite a few wait staff standing around idle. I felt like the menu was lacking in Italian options like you would expect. We made our choice and it took awhile for someone to take our order. The food was good but not outstanding as you would expect given their prices. As we were walking out I noticed maybe half of the tables had guests seated. I felt like we were treated like 2nd class citizens because we did not know about the dress code and were treated very rudely. I think if there was signage outside the restaurant stating a dress code and reservations recommended we would not have gone in. And yes, we can afford to go to nice restaurants like Bella Italian, but I will not be going back based on this experience. My husband and I have a very long lasting and sweet memory of a time we spent at an Italian restaurant in Cleveland. We continue to search for a similar experience. Bella Italia West comes the closest. The place feels old school homey, with brick walls and wood tables and chairs. Acoustics are on spot - no loud music and the night we dined- no loud patrons. Service is professional, knowledgeable, kind, and attentive. We experienced our meal in a way that allowed us to linger and chat. The food is delicious. We had the Elk with mushrooms and pasta carbonara with a light cream sauce. We ended our meal with a moist, not overly sweet tres leches cake. Grateful we dined here! read more

Bella Italia West is a local favorite as I've heard several friends from the Fort Worth area rave about it. The ambiance is obviously Italian inspired with a very cozy feeling. Dress a little nicer and come out to enjoy some homemade Italian food and listen to the sounds of whoever is strumming their guitar. The food is delicious from the pasta my husband had to the elk tenderloin I devoured. They have a unique menu with a mix Italian dishes and a nice selection of wild game to choose from. We came to this restaurant for our 19th anniversary. Apparently, dress code doesn't apply to their hostess, who wore a tube top under casual overalls, the guests, however we're all nicely dressed. The atmosphere was romantic and the service a little on the slow side but professional and acceptable. The food was average at best, absolutely nothing special and very much overpriced. We started with the antipasto, which was the best dish we had. Entrees were the shrimp scampi and chicken cacciatore. The chicken dish lacked the depth of flavor one expects of a good cacciatore. The scampi also lacked in depth of flavor and the pasta was overcooked, plus there were only six medium sized shrimp. Decor and ambiance scream romantic dinner, but the food failed to shine. This place is unique in Fort Worth. It may not be young and trendy. It may not even be particularly welcoming, but it has the best game meat and wine list (particularly Italian reds) in the metroplex. The buffalo ribeye and the elk medallions are two of the best things I've ever tasted. You should make a reservation for the best experience. Went to meet some friends and sat outdoors. I was a little late so the waitress gave me some suggestions. She was very helpful and did not rush me(as some can do at closing). The food arrived and was more than I expected. I had fish and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. After dinner we had drinks to finish moved to the bar inside. We ordered lasagna, salad and bread as a carry out order. Paid $50. When we opened the food at home, the lasagna was unrecognizable and the flavor could be compared to a frozen dinner. The actual restaurant here is $$$ price, and has no bruschetta on the menu. Yelp please correct this, it's deceiving to patrons. I seriously could have been anywhere in the world and this place would still bring on the old world charm. Seriously was good. It was a Friday evening and we decided to grab dinner here since we have been wanting to try it. I was in nice jeans, a shirt and sweater, my husband was in nice jeans a collared shirt with a hoodie on top, and our cousin was wearing the same as my husband. It was not very crowded at all. Once we walked into the restaurant, the hostess had her back to us and turned around. She said "Do you have reservations"? I said "oh no, sorry, did we need them?" The snotty hostess looked at my husband up and down while she said "Yes and you don't meet the dress code". While saying this she completely turned her nose up at us and I just couldn't believe that we were being victims of discrimination based on the way we were dressed. There were no signs stating they had a dress code. I have never experienced this type of profiling before. I mean a dress code? Have you seen the outside of your restaurant? It looks like a dump. We all could have walked right into Ruth's Chris dressed like we were and no one would have turned their nose up at us like you did. Lastly, in the shape our economy is in today, should you really be turning people away when they are willing to spend money at your establishment. I can promise you that my husband alone can buy that restaurant from you if he wanted to. Don't judge people by the way they are dressed.
