Excellent place, excellent service, and definitely excellent exceptional food! Very pleasant. Highly recommend!

The menu is wonderful, if you love hard to find wild game and excellent northern Italian cooking! I think the Buffalo is a must try! They have an excellent wine menu as well, and Chef Carlo brings decades of experience to the table. You cannot go wrong in this wonderful restaurant and the prices are fair. Very professional waiters who know their inventory and wait on your party with Joy! This used to be a restaurant called Fitzgerald's, which was actually mostly a bar. But Bella Italian West has taken it to a new level with an excellent buildout, and you have the feeling you're sitting in a nice, expensive Palm Springs restaurant bar. It's a gorgeous place inside. Food, drinks, service, prices...excellent parking... Nothing to complain about. read more

A menu without prices! puts the waiter in an awkward position!!! Nice service. Mediocre food. Ambience including real musical accompaniment. You would think that would increase the noise level, but it doesn't. 1950's food at 2026 prices. read more

Tried the new location. Not only did it loose the cool ambiance of the old place, the food was so so and the service dismal. What a shame

First - if you want a certain crowed know where you're located. Second- your sign outside doesn't scream "fine dining " it's says slightly better than Joes Pizza. Lastly- in a restaurant that's completely empty probably don't let money walk out the door. Greeter was rude and snobby. The hubs and I were undecided what to eat and we said, hey Italian sounds good let's give this place a try. *eye roll* not knowing anything about it we dared to grace the very darkened doors of this place. Apparently, there's a requirement for ressies and formal wear. Needless to say we took our cash to Campisi's which has always been good in my book. Sometimes in life there's no second chances. We will not be going back. Maybe be nice to people. read more

Be sure and have a reservation. We arrived at 5:30 PM, right before a big crowd arrived. The service was exceptional and the ambience was especially nice. It was not overly noisy, even with that many people I had the elk which was wonderful. Probably not the best place for big eaters as the portions were perfect for all of us at the table, but we all cleaned our plates. Nice wine by the glass. I would give Bella Italia West a 4.5 rating if I could, just because the portion sizes might not be adequate for young people or large people. read more

The food is yummy and the service is great! It is a lovely, relaxed atmosphere- romantic too.

This place .... Lolz.... Staff with the attitude of some sort of SNL skit that you would t find believable. Food ... wild game is different and then the rest of it looks like what you'd expect at Joes Pizza. If you don't want to eat an antelope don't bother. A Fort Worth staple! Amazing food and wine selection. Dress to impress and make a reservation! Chef makes the best lasagna and buffalo tenderloin! read more

We walked in last night after a portrait session next door and was turned away due to not being dressed as business casual. Our photo session was themed as western formal and while they welcomed our $6500 for portraits, Bella Italia turned us away and the lady (I'm guessing floor manager) was extremely rude and laughed at us. This is not an establishment that I would recommend to anyone which is sad because the studio highly recommended us to eat here after our session. read more

I read also that this happened on another review as well. We walked in on a Thursday evening to grab dinner. We were in casually nice dress clothes and a majority of the tables were empty. When we walked in. They said there was no seating at the bar even though half the bar was empty, and there were no tables available and we needed a reservation. I found it very odd to have bar seating reserved. I know they have not opened up the backspace yet, so I will try to make a reservation and go, but I thought it was very odd that the place was not filled up and we couldn't get a seat read more

The food was good, but heavy. The new space is nice (better than the Fitzgeralds set up before.)

The food was amazing to me and the staff just as great. Yes, there is a dress code (business casual) and it's usually reservation only which they do state on their website. The location and restaurant itself are great and have a good ambiance. I had the quail and shrimp scampi. Go try it out. read more

Had a great glass of wine paired with the lasagna, loved the atmosphere will definitely be returning read more

Bella Italia West is a local favorite as I've heard several friends from the Fort Worth area rave about it. The ambiance is obviously Italian inspired with a very cozy feeling. Dress a little nicer and come out to enjoy some homemade Italian food and listen to the sounds of whoever is strumming their guitar. The food is delicious from the pasta my husband had to the elk tenderloin I devoured. They have a unique menu with a mix Italian dishes and a nice selection of wild game to choose from. The service is great and they have a nice wine list too with bottles to fit anyone's taste and their house Chianti I had by the glass was delicious. Save room for dessert! read more

My husband and I have a very long lasting and sweet memory of a time we spent at an Italian restaurant in Cleveland. We continue to search for a similar experience. Bella Italia West comes the closest. The place feels old school homey, with brick walls and wood tables and chairs. Acoustics are on spot - no loud music and the night we dined- no loud patrons. Service is professional, knowledgeable, kind, and attentive. We experienced our meal in a way that allowed us to linger and chat. The food is delicious. We had the Elk with mushrooms and pasta carbonara with a light cream sauce. We ended our meal with a moist, not overly sweet tres leches cake. Grateful we dined here! read more

We came to this restaurant for our 19th anniversary. Apparently, dress code doesn't apply to their hostess, who wore a tube top under casual overalls, the guests, however we're all nicely dressed. The atmosphere was romantic and the service a little on the slow side but professional and acceptable. The food was average at best, absolutely nothing special and very much overpriced. Olive Garden would even be preferable, and I don't do Olive Garden! Overall it was overpriced and not good food, but the atmosphere was quiet and romantic. read more

Bella Italia West on Camp Bowie - new chef has completely dropped the ball. Lasagna was genuinely terrible last visit: dry, flavorless, over the top cheese and no sauce. Sad to see a 40-year Fort Worth staple slide like this. Hope they get it together soon. #FortWorthFood #BellaItaliaWest" read more

I was looking forward to trying Bella Italia's new location. The old location looked very run down and had never tried it. My husband and I walked in about 6:15 on a Saturday night. The restaurant was very nice but we didn't see anyone seated. We were asked if we had a reservation. Since we did not, we were told that they were booked up for the night but there was seating at the bar. We were not dressed up but had on nice jeans. Apparently there is a dress code that we were not aware of. There are 2 darkened doors you have to walk through to get in. I questioned if they were even open. Once we walked in, I saw the dress code sign. We tried to sit at the end of the bar near the door but were told it was reserved so we sat more towards the center. There was no one at the bar and no reserved sign. Who reserves bar seating anyway? I felt like the hostess and bartenders were looking down their nose at us and it was uncomfortable. Service was slow and we had to ask the bartender to refill our water glasses. Granted there was hardly anyone in the restaurant and quite a few wait staff standing around idle. I felt like the menu was lacking in Italian options like you would expect. We made our choice and it took awhile for someone to take our order. The food was good but not outstanding as you would expect given their prices. As we were walking out I noticed maybe half of the tables had guests seated. I felt like we were treated like 2nd class citizens because we did not know about the dress code and were treated very rudely. I think if there was signage outside the restaurant stating a dress code and reservations recommended we would not have gone in. And yes, we can afford to go to nice restaurants like Bella Italian, but I will not be going back based on this experience. There are plenty of other very good Italian restaurants in Fort Worth. read more

Love it. Great service and great food and great atmosphere!! Everything we ordered was primo. My group had 6 and we will all be a regular customer read more

First visit to this place and definitely the last. If you're going to be a fine dining restaurant, you'd better be serving five star entrees. Ours were only average. We started with the antipasto, which was the best dish we had. Entrees were the shrimp scampi and chicken cacciatore. The chicken dish lacked the depth of flavor one expects of a good cacciatore. The scampi also lacked in depth of flavor and the pasta was overcooked, plus there were only six medium sized shrimp. Decor and ambiance scream romantic dinner, but the food failed to shine. Luis' was very good as our server, earning a nice tip. read more

this is absolutely awful. We were seated at a table with bread, butter, knives, forks, already used. Yet the waitress said it was ok. I showed her the bite mark out of the bread, the butter on the napkins and knives, she rudely grabbed everything off the table and never came back. We had to get another waitress, which was just as rude. We left. read more

Food was good. Owner was rude and demanded I sit at the bar because I was a party of one. Never going back.

This is a quaint restaurant with fabulous food. I recommend being a little daring. The servers making excellent suggestions on items you've probably never had. It's delicious! read more

Went to eat and was met at the door as if it was a guarded place. Couldn't come in because we had to have reservations and then proceeded to say it's also a dress code. I've always said it not what you say its how you say it and that's the case here. We went to campisis and glad we did. I wouldn't go there because of the way we were treated at the door. Kindness goes a long way. read more

Yelp has the wrong business here. Yelp says Bella Italia West is at this address, the restaurant is a $ price, and shows the menu carrying bruschetta pizza. The actual restaurant here is $$$ price, and has no bruschetta on the menu. Yelp please correct this, it's deceiving to patrons. The staff at the $$$ place were great, and the spinach salad was enjoyable. Hopefully Yelp will get this straightened out. read more

This place is unique in Fort Worth. It may not be young and trendy. It may not even be particularly welcoming, but it has the best game meat and wine list (particularly Italian reds) in the metroplex. The buffalo ribeye and the elk medallions are two of the best things I've ever tasted. You should make a reservation for the best experience. Not because it's crowded, but you'll be better received than a walk-in. read more

Went to meet some friends and sat outdoors. I was a little late so the waitress gave me some suggestions. She was very helpful and did not rush me(as some can do at closing). The food arrived and was more than I expected. I had fish and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. After dinner we had drinks to finish moved to the bar inside. The safe was wrapping up the night but did not make us feel awkward or rushed. The inside is charming and homey. Very eclectic in its decor. We chatted finished our conversation and wine then headed out. I can't wait to go back and try more things. read more

The wild game menu is the best around for 500 miles. Food is always amazing. For the reviewers who gripe about the dress code, too bad, no sloppy looking customers in Bella's. The wait staff have always gone out of their way to deliver top notch service. Chef has his rules. His business. This is my favorite restaurant in Fort Worth. read more

Always incredible! Hands down! Don't pay attention to the negative reviews. Some people just don't have the brainwidth for fine Italian food served in an authentic, old-school atmosphere. We ordered lasagna, salad and bread as a carry out order. Paid $50. When we opened the food at home, the lasagna was unrecognizable and the flavor could be compared to a frozen dinner. This is my boyfriend and I's go to local spot. Sitting in the bar is the best semi casual vibe and the food is fantastic!

Wow! Was I transported to another place and time. Monday night and we had the place to ourselves. The red interior had thee quintessential mom and pop Italian restaurant vibe. I seriously could have been anywhere in the world and this place would still bring on the old world charm. Seriously was good. Chianti wine was delicious and Of course I did my research and knew that this restaurant had wild game. My order was the Buffalo served with Brussels sprouts and potAto. My companion had the beloved carbonara pasta with bits of chicken. The biggest surprise to me was the nostalgia of it all with the bread of toasted French bread with butter just like my grandma served. This Italian girl is surefire going back. read more

Great classic Italian charm with excellent service that never disappoints. We had the cold cuts appetizer, aglio e olio tagliolini and the chicken saltimbocca, which were all cooked to perfection.
