Ironically, we were talking about wanting to find a good pizza joint nearby and did an initial search with no luck. On our way back from picking up ice cream, we saw this place and found out it was their opening day! We believe this was perfect timing at its best and obviously, we had to try them out! THE FOOD. - Pressed Pork Belly. Perfect for starting the meal, their pork belly was tender inside with a beautifully crisp, caramelized exterior. The chipotle flavor was smoky and robust, adding layers of rich savoriness. - Emilia Romana. Margherita base with bright tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella, finished with prosciutto and arugula after the bake. The prosciutto stays delicate and silky, while the arugula adds that fresh peppery bite, and everything feels rightly balanced. The crust is blistered and crisp on the outside with an airy, chewy interior and just the right amount of char underneath. Clean flavors. No heaviness. A really well-executed pizza. Highly recommend! - The Hot Mess. The salami was crispy at the edges, concentrating its savory flavor, and the hot honey brought a sweet heat. Dollops of fresh mozzarella added a light, contrasting layer. Every bite is salty, sweet, spicy, and crispy all at once. Another pizza that I highly recommend trying out. - Carlota de Limón. Layers of crumbled Maria cookies with a creamy, tangy lime filling. This dessert is chilled for a cool, refreshing bite. It wasn't on the menu at the time we went, but you can always ask to see if it's available. THE DRINKS. - Blackbird Porter | Hopfusion Ale Works. Roasty and smooth with notes of dark chocolate and espresso, layered with a subtle smoky finish that lingers. - Boricua Old Fashioned. Rum-based, which softens the bite and adds a caramel-like sweetness. Spirit-forward but smoother and slightly rounder than the traditional version. - Felina Margarita. Fresh lime on the front with a solid tequila backbone. This cocktail is bright, refreshing, and citrusy. THE PARKING. Small lot up front plus free street parking nearby. THE VERDICT. Well-executed food and cocktail drinks, great atmosphere, and service that felt genuinely welcoming (Jaime was awesome). We were very excited to try Felina. Reading the story behind the owners made us genuinely excited to experience their new restaurant. We understand it was a busy night with the World Cup going on. We waited around 15 minutes before anyone offered us water, which was not the best first impression. After that, however, our server was lovely and attentive. We ordered a selection of cocktails: the Boricua, the Oaxacan Old Fashioned, and the Amalfi. Unfortunately, all three were forgettable. The mezcal and rum flavors in the Old Fashioned, in particular, were not well balanced, and the proportions seemed off, resulting in cocktails that lacked harmony and depth. For food, we ordered the octopus, lamb chops, calamari, and pork belly. The octopus was excellent. It was incredibly tender, beautifully charred, and paired wonderfully with the sauce. The lamb chops were also very good, and the hummus provided a refreshing contrast to the richness of the meat. The calamari, however, tasted like a standard frozen product, similar to what you would get at any restaurant nothing memorable. The pork belly was, unfortunately, the weakest dish of the evening and one of the worst pork belly dishes I've had. Nearly every component missed the mark. The barbecue-style sauce felt put together last minute in the worst way, the pork itself was tough and borderline inedible, and the dish was served at an unappetizing temperature. I would strongly recommend removing this item from the menu until the cooking technique and overall execution can be refined. It has potential, but in its current form it does not meet the standard the restaurant appears to be aiming for. The pizzas arrived at room temperature, which is especially disappointing for thin-crust pizza. Because they weren't served hot, they cooled almost immediately, resulting in a soggy crust and an unpleasant texture. Despite that, we did enjoy the Prosciutto Pizza, the Hot Honey Pepperoni, and the Mushroom Pizza, all of which had great flavor. The desert was forgettable and seemed bought frozen and brought to room temp to just add the pistachio crust. Overall, I would not return at this time. I hope the restaurant finds greater consistency in the execution of both its concept and its menu because there is clear potential. I'll be keeping an eye on future reviews and would be happy to give Felina another chance once those improvements are reflected in the dining experience. read more

A guy that seemed very Italian and possibly an owner was our server. Very familiar with the menu and did a great job helping us decide what and how much to get for our group of 9. Hate to say it but I'm currently doing the keto diet but thankfully he had all of the answers! I ordered the Caesar salad and the Lamp lollipops and a lovely Vermentino. They were both very good and large portions. Several people ate on the salad. Those are the best lamb chops I've ever had! They were in a bed of hummus that was also very good. The place was more casual than I had thought it would be but glad I can come back dressed more comfortably. On the other hand, the lamb chops were excellent--cooked well and full of flavor. We split the Hot Mess pizza and really enjoyed it. I'd definitely order it again. The Kids Pepperoni Pizza was surprisingly large. I was expecting something closer to a personal pan pizza, but it was only slightly smaller than the regular pizzas. It was good and easily shareable for some kids. The service stood out. Our server, Edward, was great, but what impressed me most was that everyone who passed by our table checked in on us, cleared dishes, or at least acknowledged us. That level of attentiveness made for a very pleasant dining experience. I also loved the open, spacious dining room. There's a bar area as well, which gives the restaurant a nice atmosphere. As for parking, we got lucky and found a spot in their lot, but there seemed to be plenty of street parking available nearby. I'd heard so much about Felina, so I was excited to finally check it out after getting a Tuesday evening reservation. Parking was a bit difficult since the lot is small and the surrounding street parking was completely full. I ended up parking a few blocks away and walking, but thankfully the weather was nice. We shared the Amatriciana Suppli and the Hot Mess pizza without soppressata. I wasn't a huge fan of the suppli, although I did enjoy the crunchy exterior. The Hot Mess pizza was definitely the standout, with a nice mix of flavors from the whipped ricotta and hot honey. The house hot honey leaned more sweet than spicy, and there was also a random radish on the pizza. The crust is very thin and the pizza comes with six slices. Since it's so thin, it cooled down pretty quickly. The food came out fairly fast, and I'd come back again for the Hot Mess pizza. read more

We stopped by twice in one week, a Wednesday and a Friday night. On Wednesday it was busy but not full so we got right in. We ordered a glass of Chardonnay and the lamb app special, 3 lamb chops which were on a hummus base, excellent choice. A Emilia Romana, margarita base with prosciutto and arugula, very good. On Friday it was busy, as expected, but we were seated pretty quickly as it was closer to closing 9pm. We tried the Margarita pizza and it was delicious. Highly recommend this spot if you are in FW. Went to Felina on a Friday evening. Had a reservation and was seated immediately. Most tables were full and it was loud. Extremely loud- concrete floors and techno music blaring. Had to yell to be heard across the table. Definitely not what we were looking for in a Friday evening dinner setting. Server came after about 10 minutes. Ordered a glass of wine- waited 25 minutes for it to be delivered. I was told the bar was backed up. Wine list was pretty good with plenty of options by the glass. Looked like good cocktail options as well. Meanwhile we had ordered a salad and pizza to share. Salad came before the wine even arrived. The romaine salad was good. Fresh and plenty for two to split. The pizza was huge. Definitely shareable with two or three people. We got the hot mess. It was thin crust and a little soggy. Soppresto, red pepper, ricotta. All ingredients seemed fresh. I have seen Felina pop up on my instagram feed for a while and decided to try it out today. Every time I pass by the restaurant it is always packed so we went around 4pm and were able to get a spot. Service was very welcoming when we entered and the ambiance is warm and inviting. Clair took care of us today, she was wonderful in featuring some of the popular dishes and her personal favorites. We went with something I have never tried before, the grilled octopus. The sauce was amazing and the spices on it were great. It was tender with a little bit of a chew. Clair told us a pro move was to keep the sauce and dip our pizza in it (which we did). We got the Hot Mess pizza, which was fantastic. Sweet savory good spice and the dough was the star of the show. I've tried to like this place so bad. I've run into 3 bad experiences before leaving a review and today solidified it for me. Our server, Claire, seemed to really only care about taking orders (both times I've had her). She has refused to do modifications (when other servers have been more than happy to) and it took me letting her know two servers have done it for me for her to accommodate my (small) request. I rarely ever leave reviews like this but to have the same server give the same level of service is telling. I know how easy it is to provide good service and that's what makes me so disappointed in this server. We requested more than 3 times that the hot honey be on the side, just for the hot honey to be drenched on the pizza; and when we raised the issue with the server she said "they don't read my little notes" and not provide us a solution or simple apology. This company has an amazing menu and I just wish the servers would reflect the values of this establishment. read more
