Stopped by this great burger place this afternoon. I usually get the single patty burger but I was starving today. I went with the double patty cheeseburger combo meal (thick, cut fries and drink). The patty had great flavor. Juicy and moist. I usually hate the thin, soggy bun but today it held its own against all the juicy meat drippings. I am never disappointed here. May time to stop in and enjoy a good burger. The fries also put up a good fight to be the star of the meal. read more

The food fell short for my liking, it was definitely hot so no issue with how it was cooked it just felt like it lacked flavor. I could only taste condiments, lettuce, tomatoes, and onion. I went here for lunch yesterday and when I sat down I realized I've been here before.And I thought this place was pretty good.I just think the burger should be a little more juicy.I mean it's not dry by any means but it just wasn't as juicy as I thought it would be.Not to mention I didn't taste any seasoning on the meat.Maybe they use a leaner meat?Now the fries I thought were pretty tasty.They were pretty much like wedge fries that were seasoned well.Overall I thought the meal was good but the burger could have been better.But hey give a shot for yourself and see what you think? read more

The place is small and not busy but with the nice weather we had today, the window garage things were up so we could hear the cars driving by outside but it wasn't bothersome. My husband and I both got the Hawaiian burger and this has been one of the best tasting burgers I've had in awhile! This unassuming burger joint has amazing food. So much food I had to put half my burger away for later. 10/10 for just the fries n onion rings alone! I've driven by this place before many times each time I could it feel calling to me. Just got paid yesterday and wanted to grab myself a Saturday afternoon treat. The place was mildly busy when we arrived. But they were quick to assist at the counter. With a smile and a friendly word, or orders were in the chef's hands. The burgers onion rings and the fries are made right there, right then, and not sitting under a heat lamp for hours. I'm not a native to this city, but the atmosphere was quirky and reminded me of local burger joints from my childhood. This place sits up there with the world famous Austin joints, Dan's Hamburgers and Top-Notch Burgers (which can be spotted in the Richard Linklater film Dazed & Confused). Best old fashioned style burger in town. They have Mexican Cokes and Jaritos. They even had the Jarito's Guava and the Sangria ice cold and ready to drink! Found this little gem on a new route and had to try it. I got their hottest burger and I wish I would have been warned at how spicy this would be. I didn't look at the ingredients until after ordering and it had ghost pepper sauce and pepper jack cheese. My mouth was on fire and I was not able to enjoy this $12 burger . Their other burgers sounded great and probably more enjoyable. I will try them at a later time. read more

This was a little mom and pop hole in the wall burger joint which is fine, but when we walked in there was only one couple eating and it was right at lunchtime. There wasn't a single table in the place that was clean, but the lady at the counter was friendly. We got burgers and I got the onion rings which were good but not anything special. The tater tots were ok as well. I would say it sufficed for lunch but probably wouldn't go back. The burgers were good but grumps are better for the price. read more

I was in the area for a week of training and wanted to find a good cheeseburger one day. There are several good options in the immediate area, so the choice was hard. I leaned on my fellow Yelpers reviews and decided on J's Casa Burger. When I pulled up I had a good feeling about this place. It's not fancy but those are often the best, because they focus on the food. The dining is covered but with open walls. Today it was nice since there was a cool breeze. I ordered the double cheeseburger and onion rings. The price is very compatible and isn't overpriced at all. I really liked that they cook each order after it's placed. So be prepared that it's not fast food. Howe we, I only waited about 10 minutes. That wait was definitely worth it after I opened that plain brown paper bag. The sweet smells matched what I saw when I opened the bag. The onion rings definitely look and tasted homemade. If they were, they fooled me. Delicious! Then that burger was packed full of flavor. My only regret is that I should have ordered a single. That double patty was huge. Oh soooo good though. I want to come back and try something different next time! read more

I really wanted a burger and was barely past 10, so the places I would normally go to aren't open until 11, so always look forward to trying new places. This place didn't disappoint, but far from it. There was only 1 person working, so it took far longer for him to notice I was there, but once he took my order and made the burger, was worth that wait. They need some sort of chime to let them know when somebody goes in the front door, though. Let's start with the most important part, the burger. I ordered the junkyard burger which is a regular burger, with hot links on it. The only real downside is their choice if links, since the flavor just wasn't there. Combined with the meat, jalapenos, mustard, etc, though it was really good. The meat was well seasoned and the patty was thick. It has plenty of mustard and the jalapenos had the flavor and crisp that only comes from being fresh (and had a decent kick, so very good). I also ordered the nacho fries to go with it (they don't have combos, so burger and fries or whatever are separate charges). The fries were thick cut and noticeably from real potatoes and not frozen or anything, unless they have a very high quality supplier, and they had the skin still. The nacho cheese, if course, tasted canned, though, but a decent quality one. Overall, it's too go only. They do have an "inside" dining area, but it's essentially an enclosed porch, so def meant to only be used when weather permits since it's as hot or cold as outside (the walls all open, so when warmer out, hopefully they open that so doesn't get too hot inside) since no climate control. I would def check this place out again if get a chance, since food really is very tasty and I only waited for like 5 minutes read more

So where do I start. I've driven by this place quite a few times. My sister wanted a burger for dinner and so we yelped nearest burgers and this place came up. Read the reviews and decided to give it a try. The burger is good. The Meat is exceptional quality and plentiful however it only had one tomato and lacked flavor.....no sauce. I was told it came with mustard and asked for Mayo and ketchup. Not sure if any was on it. My sister loved her Hawaiian burger and stated it was hot and fresh. Our drinks (she ordered a choc shake and I had iced tea) arrived after we had finished our burgers. Disappointing. My tea had little to no ice. The guy working was super friendly and on the way out asked how everything was. He was sincere and genuine. We may give this place another try.... read more

However regardless of not having what I wanted I ordered the Mexican Burger. My husband ordered the classic cheeseburger. If you want a home style burger, juicy , fresh produce. This is your place. Don't let building fool you. It's the old Church's Chicken on RiverOaks. This place definitely deserves 4 Stars. Why not a 5, you ask? A beer would have made it complete. Just had a bacon cheese burger, fries and onion rings. All said in one word: Excellent! Burgers cooked med-rare and were perfect. The fries are not those stringy Mickey D types. These were steak fries! The onion rings were big and crunchy! My only complaint is that the fries and rings were small servings. Glad I ordered (2) of each. BTW, got two unsweet teas also. Tea was just like I like it: strong and fresh brewed! Pricing was a little much, but that is the times we live in rt now when everything is so much higher. This place continues to excel in the world of burgers, hands down my favorite burger in Fort Worth and I've tried quite a few including Fred's, Rodeo Goat, Etc. This place was originally down the street from where it is now but has always been on River Oaks Boulevard, and used to be inside a little gas station is it would always have the mannequin out on the street holding the best burgers in town sign but I never gave it a shot. So the owner moved down the street when he saw that this little tiny Church's Chicken location was going to close down and moved his little Burger Joint out of the gas station and into its own building, he has since built on it and made an enclosed patio area which at first wasn't there it was just a walk up burger stand with a couple benches. More often than not when you walk up to the window to order you'll be ordering from the owner himself, I definitely recommend the Mexican burger which comes with grilled onions, grilled jalapenos, crushed avocado, tomato, and salsa verde for a little kick! It's delicious. So if you haven't figured out yet I definitely recommend you hitting this spot even if it's a little out of the way it will be worth it read more

I remembered some of my River Oaks friends telling me about how awesome the burgers were at J's Casa Burgers. Before heading home, I decided I had to give one of their burgers a try. I wasn't disappointed, the burger was FANTASTIC. There's no indoor seating, only tables outside that are covered. J's is located in a former Church's Chicken location. I love chili cheese burgers so that's what I ordered accompanied with an order of onion rings. After a short wait in the drive-thru, my burger and rings were ready, The chili cheese burger, with an ample patty, was delicious. The chil was meaty and somewhat spicy, just like it was supposed to be. The overall taste of the burger was a treat to my tastebuds. I loved the onion rings. I remember, after being in the drive thru, as to why I hadn't come here more regularly. I remember this place from them it was on Althea st and then they got the old Church's Chicken building. They are SLOW. It's no wonder that Grumps has been kicking but since they came to town. I only got a burger and fries and it took almost 15 minutes to get it. Ya gonna have to wait and wait and wait more to get your food. The food is great! Of that there is no doubt. However, the public has little time to have an artisan burger hand crafted from the best frozen ground chuck and the onions cut ever so delicately so as to not bruise them and the potatoes fried slowly in a cast iron skillet that fell off a chuck wagon on its way to Texas from Tennessee and found its way into the Castleberry family during the time the newly formed school district needed well water that was gifted to them in the form of a well...!
