    BBQ BACON BURGER
    Kelli B.

Food was delicious. Service was quick and convenient. Got the BBQ BACON & MEXICAN BURGER COMBOS w/ fries and extra side of onion rings. Burgers were yummy, I'd give it 7.5/10. Fries were a little soggy for my taste, but I didn't tell the cook crispy, so that's on me. ---- will come back and try something else as they have other things than just burgers and it's right by my house

J's Casa Burgers 5181 River Oaks Blvd River Oaks, TX 76114 I can't believe that I was the only customer at 1:00 pm. These burgers are truly the old fashioned burgers I grew up with. Sooooo good. And the service is great. https://www.facebook.com/share/19nYmP1eLg/?mibextid=wwXIfr

    Hawaiian burger with no tomato

The place is small and not busy but with the nice weather we had today, the window garage things were up so we could hear the cars driving by outside but it wasn't bothersome. My husband and I both got the Hawaiian burger and this has been one of the best tasting burgers I've had in awhile! They had a high chair that belonged to the manager and were nice enough to clean it and let us use it.

Back again to try the Steak Burger! Stevie Ray on the speaker outside. Love the non chain restaurant vibe!

I was in the area for a week of training and wanted to find a good cheeseburger one day. There are several good options in the immediate area, so the choice was hard. I leaned on my fellow Yelpers reviews and decided on J's Casa Burger. When I pulled up I had a good feeling about this place. It's not fancy but those are often the best, because they focus on the food. The dining is covered but with open walls. Today it was nice since there was a cool breeze. I ordered the double cheeseburger and onion rings. The price is very compatible and isn't overpriced at all. I really liked that they cook each order after it's placed. So be prepared that it's not fast food. Howe we, I only waited about 10 minutes. That wait was definitely worth it after I opened that plain brown paper bag. The sweet smells matched what I saw when I opened the bag. The onion rings definitely look and tasted homemade. If they were, they fooled me. Delicious! Then that burger was packed full of flavor. My only regret is that I should have ordered a single. That double patty was huge. Oh soooo good though. I want to come back and try something different next time!

    Junk yard burger

I really wanted a burger and was barely past 10, so the places I would normally go to aren't open until 11, so always look forward to trying new places. This place didn't disappoint, but far from it. There was only 1 person working, so it took far longer for him to notice I was there, but once he took my order and made the burger, was worth that wait. They need some sort of chime to let them know when somebody goes in the front door, though. Let's start with the most important part, the burger. I ordered the junkyard burger which is a regular burger, with hot links on it. The only real downside is their choice if links, since the flavor just wasn't there. Combined with the meat, jalapenos, mustard, etc, though it was really good. The meat was well seasoned and the patty was thick. It has plenty of mustard and the jalapenos had the flavor and crisp that only comes from being fresh (and had a decent kick, so very good). I also ordered the nacho fries to go with it (they don't have combos, so burger and fries or whatever are separate charges). The fries were thick cut and noticeably from real potatoes and not frozen or anything, unless they have a very high quality supplier, and they had the skin still. The nacho cheese, if course, tasted canned, though, but a decent quality one. Overall, it's too go only. They do have an "inside" dining area, but it's essentially an enclosed porch, so def meant to only be used when weather permits since it's as hot or cold as outside (the walls all open, so when warmer out, hopefully they open that so doesn't get too hot inside) since no climate control. I would def check this place out again if get a chance, since food really is very tasty and I only waited for like 5 minutes

Fantastic choice! The menu is very "urban hipster" vibes. Plenty of burgers, lots of fun appetizers, charcuterie, one of my friends has some dietary restrictions and they were easily able to accommodate her needs which made us all very happy. This spot has a great bar in the front, and a smaller bar in the rear of the place. Outdoor seating as well as covered seating. Plenty of shade as well which will serve their patrons nicely in the coming Texas summer months. This is also a dog friendly dining spot, plenty of people were there with some amazing canine companions (always ask before you pet a strangers pup, it's just polite and courteous. Almost no one says No!). Assuming you don't have a dog allergy, this will hopefully be a feature. There is a relatively new apartment complex across the street and I get the feeling a lot of the people stopping in were regulars who bring in their dogs during walkies and grab a bite before heading back home, but that is just pure conjecture on my part. Either way, it was a fun inviting atmosphere. The music was nice, not too loud for my old man ears to enjoy but still present enough to be part of the evening without being intrusive. Staff was very nice, helpful, friendly, etc. Everything one would expect from a fine Texas eatery. Lots of spicier options on the menu if you're into that, but by no means anything overpowering. My guess is the owner has stock in some jalapeno growers farm somewhere and the food is all the better for it! If you're in the area already or if you're thinking of branching out for a nice new burger spot, this place is great and I will be returning. I live nearby so it'll likely become part of the regular rotation for us in the coming months. We are spoiled for choice in this area when it comes to good burgers being close to Grumps, close to Kincaid's, and close to Tommy's up on Camp Bowie. But this place competes on good burgers and if you're looking for a fun hangout atmosphere, you'd be hard pressed to find better. Easily recommended! Give them a try, I don't think you'll regret it! Cheers!

After visiting last Sunday, I followed their social media and saw they were hosting a jazz band…read morethis week. I called a girlfriend and told her I'd found a new spot: wine, charcuterie boards, and live music. Sounded like a perfect evening. When we arrived, a young employee did her best to find the hostess and get us seated. After a few minutes, she honestly seemed more flustered than we were, she apologized and offered to seat us herself. We got settled, I ordered a margarita, and then I noticed a large dog roaming around. No leash, no owner in sight. (Later found out the owner owns the bar, the regulars are very familiar with the dog) I looked down at the menu, then looked back up, and the dog was literally face-to-face with me. We got up to leave immediately. A dog-friendly patio? Sure. That's completely fine. But allowing a dog to freely roam throughout both the outdoor patio and the covered upstairs area is baffling to me. (My last visit a dog was on the table, I assumed the young staff just didn't know how to approach the situation, but tonight shows this is how Hideaway operates day in and day out) When I explained my concern to the waitress, she said she understood and asked me to close out my tab for the one margarita I had just ordered and hadn't touched. No ma'am. I'd been there less than ten minutes, and for me, this crossed a line. Clearly, some guests enjoyed it. I saw people petting the dog and calling it over. Different preferences, and that's their choice. But mine is different. I won't be back, and if I recommend this place to anyone, it will come with a warning: dogs aren't just allowed here- they appear to have free rein of the space, whether that's on tabletops, near your food, or directly in your personal space, whether you want that interaction or not.

Location is on a corner, can be kinda tricky if you've never been here before--just something to be aware of. Immediately upon walking inside I knew I was in for a good burger, it smelled like a cookout. Checking the menu they have various burger options, but no set combos, so you have to "build your own". No problem. I had a standard single-patty cheeseburger and fries with a drink, total of $14...about the going rate these days. Food took a little bit to be delivered, but I knew it was being cooked fresh as I could see/hear it cooking while I was seated. Service was excellent, as I was asked if I needed my drink topped off or would like peanuts while I waited. For a counter-order location, I was impressed. Food arrived and it was time to eat. Burger is pretty good size for a single patty, and it was fantastic! Grilled perfectly, cheese was melted, fries were crispy and hot. Definitely one of the better burgers I've had in awhile...AND I'LL DEFINITELY BE BACK. Glad I gave Grumps a try today.
