We always travel with a 1 ton dually truck and trailer so we have to find places with parking. They did have parking for a truck and trailer. We were seated immediately, however the food took a while to come out. The food was good. My husband had the 12 ounce ribeye with a baked potato and side salad. I had a chili cheeseburger and fries. In spite of what I read in other reviews it isn't IN the Exxon station, it's beside it. Cozy Texas ambiance and big yummy Texas comfort food! Home made (not frozen) chicken fried steak & gravy, really good sweet potato fries. Friendly service. All in all a great stop for a traveling meal. My only complaint.... Found it on Yelp, not a biiiiiiig fan of gas station Resturants but this didn't disappoint at all, well maybe one thing. The server Amylee recommended the chicken Fried Steak, so I followed her lead. This did not disappoint. The mash potatoes were meh....... White gravy for the potatoes / fried steak was pretty good not too bland just right for seasoning, the roll was fresh hot and soft. The food was great and the staff very friendly. They were constantly filling our coffee cups and the food was served hot.

I don't even know how to start this but I went in and got a brisket plate with the potato salad and cowboy beans. The brisket and tater salad was what you would expect from a truck stop not bad... but the beans they smelled like farts (not ver professional but I don't know how else to describe them) didn't taste to bad but they gave me food poisoning for the next three days. The only reason I haven't rated it lower was due to the ambience and service just my experience it was and will always be my last. read more

We were worried at first since it's on a major freeway, and the blinds on the big windows we noticed right away were very very dirty. So were the windows. One of the few later-evening restaurants in Bowie, the Grill was packed when we got there at 8 PM. They were out of several things (ribeye steaks and baked potatoes), but my fiends and I managed to make due with the rest of the menu. The burgers were very good, and so was the "bits and pieces" pepper steak. The brisket was oven-cooked, not smoked, but it was super tender and had good flavor. True Southern Hospitality, from the time we walked in until the time we left,the customer service was great! This place has a little bit of everything. The building sits in the same parking lot as a gas station and between the restaurant and the gas station, there's a western clothing store. I know that sounds weird, but it really works and it's nice to look around while your waiting on your table. The restaurant itself is worth the drive. The menu is full of good southern cooking. They serve breakfast all day and the coffee is great. I had the huevos rancheros and my daughter had the patty melt, both really good.
