I'm sad that this restaurant does not get more customers. Location is very important for business, and Teriyaki Jar's location is not exactly visible or convenient... but it's always worth the few extra minutes. It's run by a lovely little family that always put heart and care into their food. I've tried multiple dishes here and I have not been disappointed yet. The inside, admittedly, is a little bland... but it is exceptionally clean. I don't go to admire the wallpaper, I go to admire the food quality and the service. Please visit Teriyaki Jar! This place has changed for the worse, there were compromises during covid but these latest ones are about to cost them . The portions are significantly smaller than they once were (for $2 more), the former menu has been reduced and americanized further with run of the mill chinese and worst of all the crab rangoons have changed entirely (and become much smaller, both size wise and portion wise). Now they're greasy little hot pockets. I'm so incredibly disappointed. I had just recommended them to a friend and in good faith I can't do that without warning and adjusted expectations. read more

Enjoyed the ramen noodle bowl. It came with a delicious broth, plenty of veggies in it and was so big I took some home. The staff was very nice and checked on us often and the store is clean. Not too much room fr seating, just four tables. I can see me stopping by again. read more

There's vegan options here!!! Affordable at that!! I got the Yakisoba vegan / veggie dish and a couple of Spring rolls. The portion was worth the money and I got super full before I could finish it. This place brings fresh Asian cuisine to the small town of Sherman Tx. What I like about it: the food is affordable, tasty, and flavorful. My take on the best dish here is the chicken teriyaki with sesame dressing for the salad. Other good dishes include the sukiyaki and the sweet and sour chicken. Also, don't forget to add extra sweet and sour sauce. It's the best in town! What I don't like: portion sizes are only decent. Often I leave still not feeling completely satisfied. Maybe I'm just a big eater though! Overall, it's a great place for lunch or a light meal that won't break the bank. I think it may be the best Asian food that sherman has to offer. *Bonus: they have daily specials on Monday - Friday. Staff is friendly, although some cultural difference may make some employees come off as rude, I've learned it's just a difference in communication style! UPDATING: They have discontinued their daily specials and the management has taken on a pretty negative attitude as of late. May be time to try other offerings in the area read more

The Teriyaki Jar is a small Japanese restaurant run by a Korean family. We had the Teriyaki and it was excellent. We will have to try some of the other menu items on our next visit. Restaurant is very clean. The only negative is that the plate and utensils are disposable. But that did not seem important after casing the food. read more

I recommend the chicken teriyaki and shrimp fried rice. So gooooood and good portions. The sesame salad dressing is so delicious. The beef teriyaki is not as good as the chicken teriyaki. I've been eating at Teriyaki Jar regularly for almost a year now since discovering it. This is my absolute favorite place to eat! Every single time I've come here my food is perfect and ready to go in a reasonably short amount of time. The workers are always kind and I truly can't say enough good things about this place, I'm so thankful they have vegetarian options too!! The only downside would be their use of styrofoam plates when you dine in, but that doesn't take away from the fact that the food and the service is phenomenal 100% of the time. read more

We are on vacation at a resort without any dining options open during the week. We ventured out to find Thai, but stumbled across this on a search. We are so glad we did! It was great. And, surprisingly, they even make their own teriyaki sauce. The teen kids ordered Chicken Fried Rice and Ramen-- both devoured. The combo Chicken, Shrimp, Beef Teriyaki was excellent. My husband ordered the Bulgogi (a Korean dish), after learning the owners are Korean, so he knew it would be fantastic. Very nice people. Their Fried rice is THE BEST I've ever had!!! ......BUT, I like combination Fried rice (shrimp, chicken, beef) and they do charge a arm and a leg for that! I normally pay around $18 for 1 order so I don't get it as often as I'd like! Other than that I love it!!!! read more

Generous portions, but a limited drink menu (no traditional drinks). The place does more takeout business than dine-in, as they only have 4 tables, the largest of which seats 4.
