Overall, the food was pretty decent with the spicy Miso Soup with shrimp that I ordered that cost $12.99. Although when I arrived there, the service was somewhat slow but busy since so many people arrived at the same time so they kept pace. Clean bathrooms with a wall of sticky notes of people who like it. The only thing that could be bad was the water jug that you can take free cups was dirty since so many people used it but it wasn't too bad.

I must admit this I was very skeptical to try a raw fish place in the Sherman area for a number of reasons. But I was DYING for a Poke Bowl and decided to bite the bullet with my man-child. Fist off, very clean place, bathrooms are big and very nice, area is small, appropriately busy, and appears many people order for takeout. Hmmm good stuff. Ok. So the sign of a good coconut rice is being able to smell the coconut, before you taste it. Check! Only negative, they have two sashimi salmon and tuna... so I hope they have more later. Although they do have multiple cooked items such as scallops, shrimp, eel, and tofu. They also have Bobo TEA (Oh MY HEART!) *please be good please taste good* Anyways, no limit to your toppings... Uber big bonus. No extra fee for sesame seed, second big bonus! Free unsweet tea! What?!?!?! And free Miso with purchase of bowl! What the WHAT?!?! You'd think they are offering the free stuff because it tastes nasty. Well, I am here to tell you, from one Asian to the world, this is legit! I'lo be getting my lunch here again later in the week! #DropTheMic #SoGood Oh and before I forget, the lady working is the BEST. Fantastic customer service and way Uber accommodating to all of our questions. #Kudos lovie, I'll have your name memorized on my next visit.

Amazing place, the lady that helped us was super nice and it let us try some of the toppings since it was our first time. Over all it was amazing! I highly recommend this place. The bows are worth the price.

It was fresh, service was spot on and we enjoyed our food very much. They have a punch card and we will be filling this out and getting our free poke bowl very soon.

The sushi bowl creation I call the "DIYer", you build it how you want it.

While I'm NOT getting the whole "burrito" component to the sushi bowl concept- I didn't walk away disappointed or hungry! This was my first time to try Hau'oli Poke (aka- "The Pokey" place, as my husband has dubbed it), we ventured to do the DIY bowl concept. (Think of it as Subway or Chipotle meets sushi) We each picked 3 proteins- I choose spicy salmon, shrimp and baked eel. (Baked eel that's actually torched in front of you, so it's not REALLY baked- but think of it as a sideshow hibachi for a dose of live food prep cooking) The Sarachi Aioli was a great touch of spice for me (my chapped lips are indicating it was a bit much for them, but it was good nonetheless). Clean bathrooms (best bathroom signage ever!!), clean, well kept serving and eating spaces, very friendly staff that walk you through your first visit! The questionables for me: - Food temp of the proteins, didn't feel like it was as cold as it should have been considering it is raw fish. (I'm fairness- the baked/torched eel may have warmed it up, I dunno) - the Cream cheese and Avocado looked suspicious, so I opted to not get those two items a try.

They're bowls pretty good, presentation needs a bit of tidying and refilling (almost didn't know what items were in the empty looking buffet bin). It was nice to see a place that had unagi (eel) as a protein, it was really tasty. The sushi rice was good, but I wished that I could have asked for a sample of the coconut rice... sounded interesting. One less star as their tonkotsu ramen was terrible. No flavor, VERY bland. Would not recommend getting, ESPECIALLY for the ridiculous price of 11.99. What a waste. Just stick with the poke bowls.

    Gluten free options?

I mean, rice is gluten free so, yes. The rest of the toppings and/or raw fish are gluten free too.

TLDR: Their menu was massive with so many different options which I think is good for people who want to try different things but it may be a little too big of a menu. Food was just ok. It may be beneficial to lessen items on menu and really focus on some key dishes they want to highlight. Everything imo was priced a little on the high side, at least $1-2 more than I would pay for the quality of the dish. They do pack their specialty rolls with a lot of ingredients and with inflation I'm sure they priced it accordingly to keep their business running, so I'm not docking off too much points for that. Review: They offered regular sushi rolls but disappointing to see that yellowtail was not on their menu for rolls (they did have it as an option for 2pc sushi/sashimi). I ordered a smoked salmon 2pc sushi which was pretty good and decently sized so probably worth the ~$5 price point for 2pc. I did not order any other ones from the 2pc menu so not sure if all the fish are portioned that way. Regarding their regular rolls, my husband enjoyed the Philadelphia rolls and said he could taste the smoked salmon, so for both of us a win on the smoked salmon. My other order was part of their specialty rolls...Salmon Lover priced at ~$13 with 8pc. Imo the pieces were quite small for a specialty roll and it tasted ok. There was supposed to be a honey wasabi sauce on there which I felt like was overpowered by the amount of spicy mayo on the dish. I wanted to like it so badly but I figured reading off of the ingredients list that it would have a kick to it, and it did not. It's not marked as a spicy roll, so probably not intended to be spicy? But with spicy mayo and jalapeño surely there would be some mild kick to it, and the flavor just kinda fell flat and tasted like...too much mayo. The highlight of this experience was the service. The young lady who took our order was super nice and cheery. Checked up on us at appropriate times and I saw she was also working on other tasks around the restaurant. I am willing to try this place again in the future as the vibes were nice, it def gives Japanese izakaya and looks like a good place to have dinner with some friends. Maybe I'll try their ramen instead next time!

Five people could've easily sent here, but I want the hopeful to myself. I could see the whole restaurant from sitting right where I am and it feels perfect. I just stopped in for a quick bite to eat, hoping to get some fried rice and I came in and found my favorite thing on the menu... bang bang shrimp... and there is such a backstory for me and bang bang shrimp but just numb last night my family chose to go to Olive Garden instead of going to bonefish Grill. I really want a bang bang shrimp and today guess what I ordered??? you got it bang bang shrimp!!! and it came out first before the other entrée which was veggie fried rice. My bill is about $27 and that's fine because I'm the main character of the story and every grain of rice was worth it. Perfect place for a self-care day that I stumbled across. Oh and let me not forget my server, Ajah. She was so adorable and so kind. I just wanted to take her home and put her in my pocket and pull her out anytime I need to pick me up or Bestie to talk to. The food was beyond delicious and the service was beyond great 10 out of 10, but definitely come back again!!!

The atmosphere was very clean and well maintained. I have two cons: They clean the tables themselves so a couple of tables still had plates on the when we arrived and when we left they still weren't picked up. The only other con was the menu is a little difficult to follow so you will probably have lots of questions while your ordering if your not familiar with this type of food. I just asked the cashier what her preference was when it came to soup base and choice of meal and she gave me some excellent picks.

The food is genuinely good. The Hoshi Ramen and Chicken Fried Rice are my go-tos, and both always taste fresh and satisfying. The interior feels clean. One small mishap aside, this place continues to be a solid choice when in the area.
