The waitress needs to be more familiar with the menu. We noticed a Lo Mein special posted at the entrance, but when we asked about it, she couldn't tell us what came with it or what the ingredients were. We ordered fried spring rolls as an appetizer, and the sweet sauce that came with them was extremely watered down. For our main dish, we ordered the beef Pad Thai, which unfortunately tasted very bland. When placing our order, the waitress did ask how spicy we wanted the dish, which we appreciated, but overall the food and menu knowledge left a lot to be desired. I went to visit my mom in Sherman, TX and she suggested this restaurant since she ordered to-go a few times and she's already hooked. Inside has a clean and modern look and being a fan of Thai cuisine I was very excited to check out. I started my meal with the onion soup and was sadly underwhelmed as it was lacking in flavor and really left me missing that savory, salty umami that a good onion soup usually offers but the Thai Tea certainly made for it. It wasn't too sweet and the half-and-half added the perfect balance of creaminess while rounding out the black tea. On to the main dish, Tiger Cry, which is a savory and lightly spicy steak, I ordered it with the fried rice and it included steamed broccoli that was not seasoned at all and the steak was a tad tough but otherwise delicious. Ordered the pineapple fried rice, drove home to Durant . Opened the box and noticed the rice did not look right . Took a bite and noticed the rice had zero flavor . Called and spoke with the lady who answered the phone , explained the issue, and listened to her basically call me a liar . However she did offer a replacement , which I accepted for a later time . A few minutes after the initial call ended , she called me back interrogating me about my flavorless rice again. At this point I felt as if I was being called a lair and seeking free food . I had to leave a 5-star review for this place because it was that good! Jay, who I believe is either the chef or the owner, is absolutely incredible. He has such a heart for the patron, and was constantly running around making sure everyone was 100% satisfied. They had no problem as they make all their sauces from scratch so they can very easily leave out onions (which I'm allergic to). We had the pan fried gyoza, basil duck and three flavor snapper. While our call-in order was prepared quickly, it was expensive and rather unappetizing. My daughter and I had a couple appetizers and two entrees. The crab rangoon were all either still frozen in the middle or cold. The calamari rings were unseasoned and also cold. The accompanying dipping sauce was like an orange tinted syrupy water. I had the pad thai which was a disappointing mushy mess of over-cooked, heavily salted spaghetti noodles with very few pieces of chicken or tofu. Listen, I'm all for that "hole-in-the-wall" crappy take-out when the situation warrants but I would expect it to be $5/$6 not $11/$12. We live in Denison and so far have been so disappointed with most of the restaurants in our area. Very very disappointed. But this place never disappoints!! The food has all been excellent.
