Great food and friendly staff. Eat here once every week or two. Open for lunch only, but if you are in Sherman it's the place to eat

Delicious food. Fast service. Home grown folks with great wit and salty sense of humor. My mother and I came in for a funeral and these ladies really warmed our bellies and hearts. Thank you for a great meal and fun personalities.

What a fantastic little restaurant!!! The staff was super friendly, and Lesa gave excellent service!! The salad was very fresh with very tasty chicken. The croutons were delicious, and the ranch dressing was sooooo good! The burger was huge and very tasty. It was cooked perfectly. The fries were crunchy and delicious. The chocolate pie was very good with a very flaky crust. I will definitely be back.

Food was not cooked well and my friends food was burnt. Not good chefs. We came as a work group from TI and the experience was horrible.

I didn't get the all you can eat because all I can eat is one. But I did get the burger and onion rings and it was very good. I love the rustic car theme they have at MGs and since it is a family restaurant it is filled with families and children enjoying their day. Children never bothered me in a restaurant but if you want a quieter place you might not like the noise. The employees who work there are so nice too. A great family restaurant in my opinion with great food. Good times for everyone!

Small interior offering 4 tables and a line up of bar stools. The kitchen and pantry are fully exposed. We were greeted by a gent opening the door for us and friendly hellos! The menu provides a wide selection of country fair with twists on cosmopolitan selections (the country bennie is a must). No pre-cut fries on site,! Everything looked and tastes freshly prepared. Will definitely make the trek again!

Inside, the atmosphere is small-town comfort at its best -- casual, welcoming, and the kind of place that instantly makes you feel at home. I ordered the Chicken Bennie, and it was absolutely outstanding. A homemade biscuit served as the base, soft and fluffy on the inside with just the right touch of crisp on the outside. On top of that came perfectly fried chicken tenders, a runny egg that tied everything together, and a generous pour of rich, savory sausage gravy. It all came with a side of crispy fried potatoes that were cooked just right -- golden and flavorful without being greasy. Every bite was pure comfort food perfection. The coffee was smooth and satisfying, the kind that pairs perfectly with a hearty breakfast. Service was excellent as well -- friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind, which made the whole experience even better. You can tell the staff really cares about their customers and their food. Overall, 1836 Café is exactly what you hope to find in a small-town spot: great food, great people, and an atmosphere that keeps you wanting to come back. I'll definitely be returning, and I highly recommend it to anyone passing through or nearby.
