I'm glad I stuck with it and checked around the corner - that's where I found a super steep staircase leading to a magical coffeeshop space. The second floor has it all: creaky wooden floors, broad sunny windows, exposed brick walls, high ceilings, a counter full of quirky merchandise including stickers, jewelry, bookmarks and more. There's a rack of curated vintage clothes and a bookcase wall. So - the setting is amazing and this would be the perfect place to meet a friend, or settle in for an afternoon and get some work done. Free water and bottomless coffee refill in the corner. They sell balms, stickers, clothes, and more. Prices are a little steep, especially with a farmers market across the street, but options are always a good thing. I ordered a large latte. The menu states flavors are an extra .50 in the menu book, but I was charged $1. (Just an observation that the prices may not be correct on yeh menu book) They ask for tips, but I wouldn't. They don't clean up, you take your cups and plates to the trash area. We ordered the tacos. It did take 25 minutes to get it and it was not busy. Our coffee was ready pretty quickly. I presume (wild guess) that the food fixer dude is not good with multi tasking, or his desire to serve is lacking. Anyways, the serving size was good! The tacos were warm on top, but the eggs were cold on bottom. Plus they really had no flavor. My latte was warm at best and the coffee was not strong? I would suggest switching brands. The hot cocoa my husband got WAS delicious and stayed hot in the travel cup... so maybe that would help in the latte arena. The coffee server was by far very friendly. Either the FRESH BASIL is missing, which has happened multiple times or now they apparently put dried basil that has no taste. I was recently hospitalized there for 8 days, and had been there a few times for coffee and snacks, etc... It's a great little spot and company! They have a wide variety of seasonal blends and a good variety of syrups (nice selection of sugar free- which I use!). They offer plant based milks as well, and the food choices are very fresh, organic and natural! Ask for Finley!!! She recognized me from my stay, knew me by name, and told me how beautiful I looked! It had no espresso and no cold foam, even though the menu lists cold foam as part of the drink. We went back hoping they would simply remake it correctly, but instead we were met with some of the worst customer service I've experienced. Rather than apologizing or trying to make it right, the baristas insisted my husband "didn't say dirty" and then told us we had to specifically ask for the cold foam, even though it's advertised as being included. To top it off, they charged us an additional $3+ for the cold foam and 1 shot of espresso. A drink that was already around $7 ended up costing over $10 just to receive what the menu originally described. Mistakes happen, and I completely understand that. What I don't understand is the lack of accountability and the unwillingness to provide good customer service. A simple apology and a willingness to fix the mistake would have gone a long way. I wanted to support, but after this experience, I won't be back.
