Very old fashioned but good place. Short staffed it seemed - only one server so the wait to actually be served was considerable, almost left to go elsewhere. We've eaten breakfast here and always had a great meal so we tried lunch: catfish and liver and onions. Both were great as were the sides of coleslaw sweet and creamy and green beans which they enhance with ham and onions. Hush puppies with touch of jalapeño. Yum So we thought: why not try a take home desert. Tuxedo cake and a slice of coconut pie both made in house. OMG Tuxedo cake was a deep dark chocolate with marshmallow filling and over the luscious chocolate icing was drizzled white chocolate. Coconut pie was not imitation coconut pudding BUT coconut like you get in a great macaroon. OMG Don't miss eating here. Let's see...We had NO idea this was the cafe because there is NO sign. But when you pull up, there is a HUGE mural of a sign on the SIDE of the building, HAHAHAHA. Please put one on the front. Seat yourself, which we love, and BOTH ladies that were working were uber sweet. Great customer service and pleased to serve people....LOVE that. But the cooks...like, listen, Linda, NO ONE needs a pint of veggie oil on their omelet, especially when you get the omelet with all the meats in it. The place looks hidden and waitress was running for dear life because I think they are short handed, but I'm okay with that. Food? We had breakfast and it was Delicious! Perfect portion size. Place looks like a big dump from the outside and when you come inside it's not much better. The place is very clean and inviting! I got my go to in the morning biscuits and gravy and it was very tasty, which I expect out in the country. The only con I can see is they are a cash or check place, so be warned unless you want to fill in potholes in the parking lot to pay off your bill. read more

This is a cash out check only locally owned Rat restaurant in Bohnam. We had steak fingers, chicken fried steak, make potatoes, okra, turnips and some other southern food. Small eating area but is there best food in town. It was recommended by many in the VA Center. Menu is not fancy. Lots of folks in and out with take out orders. Breakfast odd big here. Lots of working folk and farmers eat here. Fast service. The staff was great. We will be back on our visit to the VA. read more

GREAT food! Excellent service. This is a small down home eatery that is well worth finding. The atmosphere is cozy and pleasant. The other customers are clearly locals who love this place. There is no sign of any size to say you have found it, but my navigation system found it easily. I'm sure yours will too. If you are anywhere near Bonham Texas, make a point to stop in. It's the small places such as TNT Cafe that provide the feeling of home we all need when away from our own home. TNT is a wonderful choice that you won't regret. Stopped by because my husband was wanting breakfast and this little dive serves breakfast anytime. I googled restaurants in the Bonham area and this place had the best reviews so we decided to try it. I accidentally drove by it because there is not a business sign visible from the street. We turned around and pulled into the parking lot and almost did not go in. It literally looks as if it is a business that has closed down years ago, if not for the handful of cars out front. My husband and I and three of our grandchildren walk in and there are three tables with locals sitting around and you could hear a pin drop... well not anymore lol with three pre-teens in the house. No one who works at this little gem acknowledged we had even entered the door. I look around and decided just to seat ourselves. After a few minutes a pleasant woman comes over and gets our drink order and gives us some menus. The five of us ordered a standard breakfast plate.. eggs, bacon and hash browns, biscuits with scrambled eggs and sausage gravy on top, a cheeseburger, and chicken strips. I must say everything was delicious. My granddaughter ordered the burger and it look SO good I had to sneak a taste and it was awesome. The waitress said they use real beef :) And the portions are Generous! All in all it was a good experience and we will be coming back to try the pies as they did not have any today since this was their first day back open with all the covid 19. The only thing I could add for the owner is that it would not take much to spiff up the outside a little to draw not only the locals but the travelers who drive the back road highways. Unless you know this place is here and know that the food is good... you would most likely pass this place up. read more

Planned on eating there for lunch today 4/10/2020. Walked in we were greeted, found a seat and that was it. Waitress walked by us but never communicated anything. No "We will be with you in a minute" , "Here is a menu, your waitress will be with you in a minute." So we waited about 5 min and left. I was surprised the prices were a little higher than I expected from a tiny outdated cafe. Around $10 for omelets but they come with hashbrowns and a biscuit. Portions are pretty large. Stopped by on our way home to Dallas with the family and enjoyed the French Toast, omelettes, and 2 egg breakfast. The biscuits are amazing! The only downfall I saw was that they only serve pancakes before 10am. The place is very clean and the wait staff was very friendly. There is a wait for the food to come out but it did not seem as much since the girls were enjoying some coloring. I highly recommend if you like to try other places that are not chain food restaurants. read more

We have had breakfast there a few times. The bacon is poor quality and literally one it was served to me crumbled because it was paper thin. Menu is heavy on jalapeño dishes, so if you like jalapeños in everything you found the one place that you'll fit in well. Waitresses are all nice. No pancakes after 10am and they are serious. Pie is good. Was the only thing kept us coming back. Won't go back now. It's just disappointing. The reviews that make this a high rated restaurant seem to be from same people and I don't think are anything but family of people who work here. So, this place doesn't look like much from the outside... ok, it doesn't look like much on the inside either. It is in a non-descript location, in an older building, the chairs & tables all kinda wobble & they still have a "smoking section" meaning the left half of the place allows smoking and the right half doesn't. And no, there isn't a wall or anything separating them. Gotta love small towns! You certainly won't visit this place for the accomodations, but the people watching is priceless. The owners & workers are awesome & generally can remember your drink order if you go there often. They're quick & mostly all business, but they get the job done. Now, the food is unreal - it's greasy and tasty and super cheap. They have all kinds of classic favorites like burgers, chicken strips, chicken fried steaks, etc. Basically, anything that might make your heart hurt just thinking about eating it is on this menu. My favorite is the chicken strips *nom nom nom* The meal costs all of $8 and comes with a generous portion of fried chicken strips, a bowl full of creamy gravy, your choice of french fries or mashed potatoes, your choice of the veggies of the day, and either a roll or cornbread. I usually opts for the jalapeno cornbread & french fries for my meal. Throw in an iced tea & you've got a $10 lunch that could feed 2 or 3 people. My co-workers usually go for the chicken fried steak meal, which covers most of a very large plate. No one leaves hungry, that is for sure. This is a cash-only establishment, so leave the plastic at home. They're open early, though I haven't made it out there for breakfast at this point. Me & my family love this place! The food is good! Chicken fried steak & chicken fried chicken are really 2 meals for me. They are huge! Burger & fries are good. They serve the crinkle cut fries, my favorite kind! Since they close @ 2 during the week, I get lunch to go most of the time. I've ordered the Chef Salad the most. Go early cause the veggie run out fast. They serve a TnT Scramble that's really tasty! I add a little picante salsa. They have catfish, the first few times I got were thick big pieces. The last time, the pieces were thin, not too meaty. I'm not sure if the cream pies are homemade, but they are good. I wish they did meringue topping though. I recommend TnT any day. read more

This place was recommended by the people my wife works with. So we decided this morning to give it a try. The place is old and in real need of a makeover. It was however really clean and the staff was friendly. The food was delicious and plentiful! My only complaint with my meal was biscuit and gravy. The biscuit was really good, one of the best I've had in these parts. However putting the nasty gravy on it ruined the poor biscuit. The gravy was white as a sheet, not a good thing for sausage gravy. It tasted like the sausage was fried drained and rinsed then put in the gravy. It's a Texas travesty to do what was done to that gravy. TNT chef, please get some help on making sausage gravy! Great place to eat but don't eat the gravy! read more
