    Traditional Bacon/Egg Breakfast

We make an annual trip on Memorial Day and this is a perfect stop for us for breakfast just as it was last year. From the outside it looks like a converted Pizza Hut building and appears small. Don't let that fool you. It's spacious and cute inside. Jennifer, our wait person, was prompt, friendly, and efficient. My husband again got his traditional breakfast and loved it. I had their Berry Oatmeal & Granola. The steel cut oatmeal was a little on the watery side for me, since I like my oatmeal thick, but fruit and granola were delicious. We were happy with our meal. We'll definitely stop again.

The food was really good! The service was fast even though they had a full house! 10/10 recommend this place!

Grilled Ham N Cheese. Basic but good. Hits the spot.

This is a great spot! Every time I filter by ratings on Yelp for restaurants in the area during our road trips, this place consistently comes up--and it never disappoints. During our latest visit, there was a minor issue with the ice machine, but as soon as it was fixed, the waitress promptly brought us a cup without us even having to ask. I have to say, the okra here is the best I've ever had. Highly recommended!

The food was just good! It wasn't anything special, just a typical breakfast diner, but it was yummy! The people are very attentive and it is a sit yourself service. The environment was cozy and clean, and the menu choices are a good variety to satisfy any craving.

My husband and I decided to run away to the DFW area for a date day. Our first stop was at Texas Cafe Diner in Greenville. The exterior doesn't offer much curb appeal but the environment inside is very casual. It reminded me of being at grandmas house having a big shindig. And the food matched perfectly! Home cooking like grandma would make! I had the Cowgirl (2 pancakes, 1 egg, 2 bacon). The pancakes are huge, and fluffy and just perfect! I ordered my egg over medium and it was cooked to perfection! As was the bacon! The service was great as well! Absolutely recommend give this place a try!

Ate here on Friday, October 25 around 11:30 AM. We were able to grab a seat quickly, but the place was 90% full. Our orders were taken quickly and drinks were served to us promptly. I ordered the Montecristo and it did not disappoint. If you remember Bennigan's back in the day, this is that same Monte Cristo sandwich. It was extraordinarily awesome! My wife had the chicken and waffles and it was a lot of food. It was also very good and we took some home with us. We made it out of there for around $25.

From its Italian roast flavorful coffee to its amazingly varied, creative breakfast menu, and friendly, efficient wait staff, this is a delightful spot! The "Texas Benedict" was the prettiest and one of the tastiest biscuits and gravy plates we've seen in our cross country trip. The "Avocado Benedict's" hollandaise had a nice lemony tang, and its tasty fruit cup a respite from the lifeless fruit so often served. It's easy access off I-30 and return make the Texas Cafe Diner, a Don't Miss eatery!!

Food and service was good. Prices are going up. Was a 5 star now just a 2 star, only because of smaller portions.

In the Greenville tx area on business then heading back to Dallas. Traffic came to a full stop…read more So,I decided to take the next exit and have a BBQ sandwich at Bakers Ribs. They've been around long before the current BBQ craze. I used to eat at their Dallas Location back in the 1990s but, haven't been in 25 years. After fighting major construction congestion and stop and go detours,I finally pulled into the pot holed, gravel parking lot in front of the red 1980ish red metal building that is Bakers Ribs . I was also in search of The Original Fried Pie Company which happened to share space . Entering I found what I expected. Well worn old school roadside Texas BBQ place, just getting by . As with almost everyone else, they've upgraded to a thin screen digital overhead menu. I hate those things because they have no soul...yada,yada,yada I ordered the chopped beef sandwich and waited about five minutes for the few in front of me to gradually get their order filled by the one person, chopping meat, frying fries and filling orders . The vibe is worn out ,we tried western kitch decor in 1980. That's ok but, this is a sad little place that's seen its better day. Regressing slightly. When I first entered a case of various fried pies was the first thing I came to. More on that later . Pouring myself a unsweetened ice tea,I sat down to hopefully enjoy my sandwich. It was better than I expected, and after doctoring it up with onions, jalapeno, pickles and sauce,it passed my test, barely. I wish them well but,I probably won't go back. The owners need to either recomit to increasing the quality of their food and service or? Now to the fried pies. Yumalicious! I bought 6 at $3 75 each. 2 Cherry,2 Apple,2 Peach. I put three in the freezer and left the others out for consumption. Wow. Warmed up under the broiler and served alongside BlueBell Vanilla, niezzzz! Overall my experience was a whiff of the past. That going, going, gone place on the side of the highway that's just good enough to keep you going ,to the next detour.

Amazing brisket. Friendly folks working there. Reasonable prices. Pies look great for later!read more

We ordered the **chicken fried steak**, **fried green tomatoes**, and **chicken tenders**. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The chicken fried steak was tender with a perfectly crispy coating, the fried green tomatoes were delicious and well-seasoned, and the chicken tenders were juicy and cooked just right. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience and will definitely be back. Big thanks to Jerry and the team at Cotton Patch in Greenville for a great meal and great service!

Taqueria review: I'm…read moregonna let you know, first of all, that I'm deeply obsessed with tacos. I'm not talking about American tacos, which are more akin to cheeseburgers with chili powder on a flour tortilla, but the Mexican variety, which are on corn tortillas with onion and cilantro. I'm not necessarily reviewing this restaurant as a complete restaurant experience but just on its ability to make amazing tacos, specifically Tacos al Pastor, a variety of spicy pork taco. Like any good Taqueria, this place shares space with a gas station. This is usually the mark of authenticity. As most places do around here, you receive your tacos with two warm corn tortillas piece. The meat is as it should be, not too wet not too dry, and just tender enough to chew through easily. The amount of cilantro and onion are perfect, and the salsa Verde comes in a plastic baggie that I prefer to bite the bottom off of so I can squeeze it out like a pastry bag. The amount of spice from the pork and the salsa are just right and the flavors all work together well. Limes are standard as they should be and really add to the flavor. These are definitely the best Tacos al Pastor in Greenville, and if you can go on Mondays or Thursdays, each taco is only $.99. otherwise they are only $1.59 apiece. I got six of them for $10 on a Friday and $6 on a Monday. One of the best things about this restaurant, which may annoy some, is the quaint cultural differences between taquerias and most fast food restaurants. Whereas most taquerias are cash only establishments, this one accepts credit card; however, you have to go to the gas station side to pay and then bring your receipt back to the cooks. Believe it or not this is somewhat standard and, to me, quite delightful as an experience. I will be coming back a lot and sitting in the booth waiting for my six tacos to go. If you have never tried Mexican tacos before, give them a try; and if you get your first Mexican tacos here, you may never want to eat American-style again.
