The place smells like mold. We sat at the bar for 8min before anyone came to speak to us ( too busy dancing and chatting to greet us) & The bartender ( he never told his name & the receipt had no name on it ) needs to be ReTrained because he doesn't know how to mix a simple margarita. The food was bland and tasteless. At 5pm in the afternoon they played "wap " by cardi B with none of the lyrics bleeped or censored & an entire family with small children were in there, they left immediately and covered their child's ears. We left ASAP ! I would not recommend! read more

I would love to give this place 5 stars because THE FOOD IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! really is worth all those. However the service is terrible. Really. Really. Bad. I'm currently sitting here watching our waitress play on her phone while we wait for our check. We have waited for everything this evening; while watching our waitress play on her phone... my fiancé went to the restroom to find a bunch more staff standing around. And there's not even that many patrons... I would stop coming here if it weren't for the fact that we love the food so much! read more

I had the pizza burger with no bun and a side of broccoli. Yummy! It was one of the best burgers in town. Great to combine pizza toppings on a burger. The interior of the place is dynamic and there were a mix of genres like I haven't seen. It was kid friendly but I wouldn't have expected that from looking at the outside. It's hard to tell what kind of place it is looking at it from the outside. It was like a combination of the cotton patch restaurant with an old time saloon with a modern sports bar. I thought it was a bit weird but it worked. It will probably be our regular after-court spot when we're in Grayson county. It was good. It was kind of crowded inside and it's a pretty big place. The food was very good. Not a very diverse liquor selection but they did have some good high end scotches and the prices are decent. Good place. read more

This place needs to get its act together. Good food - bad service. Constantly ignored by the wait staff who seems to not to have a clue what's going on in their sections. If I'm paying the price for food that OIP is charging the service needs to step up their game. You can do better than this. read more

I'm from the metroplex. That said, OIP is one of the better places I have been to in Sherman. Top three right now. The apps are too small and overpriced but delicious. The service is inconsistent, but the burgers and everything I've had has been above average. Sometimes exceptional. The atmosphere is great, location great. Somewhat inconsistent but still, worth a visit. Or two or three. read more

We just moved to Savory Tx. and was doing some shopping in Sherman. We decided to go down to the square and look for a place to a place to eat. This place was a such a great find. It was a Friday night around 6:30 or 7.This place was not busy at all . Very quiet. The service was outstanding. Food was so delicious. I just say can't enough about this place. We will definitely be coming back here. read more

Terrible and pricy. Typical North Texas region food. Disappointing menu and wait staff service. Where is the Texas charm? Not at this place. If you're going for a beer, please head that way. Good? Go to a place that will be glad you're there! read more

Been here a few times now and have to say the food is good but the service and atmosphere need addressing. Music is weird and could use something better. We heard 70's hair band yacht rock then strange disco type music. Some consistent good music would be good! Service was super slow except for one good bartender - Sarah- who ended her shift and the others never picked up slack. Bar was left devoid of help for around 20 minutes, a little too long to wait for a beer. Food took a long time to leave kitchen and we watched several servers not pick up waiting food. read more

Not the best food in my opinion. Everything just seemed kind of fried and greasy. They do however have a very nice selection of beers. The house margaritas were pretty good and the do half and half's so that a plus. Give this place a try if your looking for good drinks and greasy bar food. It's not really for me. read more

Great margaritas and great food! Busy Friday night so it took a little while to get our food (so we had another Post margarita with Patron), but it was so worth it! Delicious beef and chicken street tacos and chilli. Definitely worth hitting up! read more

Delicious! A western bar and grill feel where locals gather and visitors are welcome! We had the bacon wrapped wings for an appetizer and they were fantastic! The bacon was crispy and the inside was cheesy with just a hint of spicy! The staff were friendly and helpful! We had the Cali cheesesteak for our entree with sides of fries and Mac and cheese. AUH- MAZ-ING. Sweet and savory! The Mac and cheese is homemade and very cheesy. We will definitely be returning! read more

First off the bat. The food we tried was delicious! We weren't able to try our dinner meal because, the bartender forgot to put the order in. Our biggest issue is this isn't the first time this has happened. It's been a while since we have been here. We love everything about this place except the service has been so bad every single time. We sit at the bar in other restaurants because, you normally get good service. We came early this time to grab a bite before the crowd shows up. We ordered a beer. Had to flag the bar tender down to get a second and order an appetizer. We also ordered our dinner at the same time but, told him we didn't want our app at the same time as our dinner. After waiting an hour, we asked about our dinner. Was told it still wasn't ready. So, we cancelled it. We couldn't even get our empty beer glasses filled. Bartenders would just walk by like they had blinders on. Now, I understand they got busy but, one of the bartenders decided she needed a smoke break and left. We weren't the only people who couldn't get waited on. We ended up flagging someone's down and paid out. It's just not worth the effort or time. read more

Ordered the "Jam" burger and a Deep Ellum Dallas Blonde. Beer was nice and cold from the tap and the burger was absolutely delicious. The environment and atmosphere here are great, they have a giant horseshoe bar with several TV's always playing an array of sporting events. The only downfall is that they're usually understaffed (slow service) and you MUST ask for menus and silverware. Every time. Besides that, I'm a frequent customer and a big fan of the place! read more

Came up from Fort Worth with my 2 year old son to visit my parents and we decided to try this place out. This restaurant has a great location on the square, and a really nice outdoor patio area. We sat ourselves outside and were approached pretty quickly by a waitress. She gave us menus and took our drink orders and left. After that it took a while before she came back with our drinks and once she did we ordered some appetizers. It took forever to get the monkey balls we ordered and we never received the chips and salsa we asked for. Monkey balls were delish and my son even ate them up! We ordered our food a little while later and again, it took ages to get it out. The restaurant wasn't super busy so not sure what was going on. After finally getting our food, I can say it definitely wasn't worth the wait. I got the pork street tacos with the Elote and asked for a side of avocado. The avocado cost $1.50 extra and I was served 3 slices of pure brown avocado. Ick. Also, the tacos were so soggy and luke warm. Seemed like they had been sitting around in pork grease for a while. And the elotes just tasted like corn from a can. My father ordered a salad and wasn't even asked what dressing he wanted on it and it came smothered in what he thought was ranch dressing which he doesn't even like. My son got a hotdog and he liked it and my mother got the club which she said was ok. We probably should have spoken our concerns to the waitress, but my family doesn't like confrontation, so we just dealt with it. Overall, it was a 'meh' experience. I don't know if it was an off day, or the waitress was new, but was not super impressed with this restaurant. I'd go back just to give it a second chance to see if maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but I don't have high expectations. We would have been happier had we gone to Sage Cafe or City Limits. read more

I found out via Twitter that the Old Iron Post has $2 margaritas all day on Wednesdays & I just had to give it a try. I had a traditional margarita, the portion was great for the price, good flavor, & a good amount of tequila! I was VERY impressed. I had pork street tacos with an elote for the side. The tacos were very tasty with a generous amount of meat in each & the elote was also pretty good! Our waitress was very attentive. The restaurant has a cool vibe & great hours. This is definitely going to be a regular stop for us in Sherman!! read more

Great food, great service and cool atmosphere. Very high ceilings in an historic building on the Sherman Square. Josh took very good care of us. We will be back. I highly recommend the chicken salad pesto salad. Very fresh mixed greens. See ya soon. read more

I wanted to like this place. I really did. But I can't. The place was packed which seemed promising. The host asked my wife and I to sit at a tiny table by the window rather than cleaning off a bigger table that was empty but filthy. Our waiter was very nice and attentive and the food was pretty good and reasonably priced. And then there were bugs. I know it's a bar and you have bar flies, but this was ridiculous. I stopped eating my fries when I saw a little fly climb up one. Then I saw a cockroach scurry across the floor. A big, Texas-sized, cockroach. I was done. It's a nice place on the square and the people all seemed really friendly, nice neighborhood kind of place, but we won't be back. read more

WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! took at least 30 minutes to get everyone's drinks, we had a party of around 20ish for a friend's birthday and only had one waitress that was obviously inexperienced. Took at least an hour to get appetizers and another to get food and only 5 people ordered food. I ordered chicken strips and they tasted like jerky! Then took another 30 minutes to get our checks and the waitress messed up everyone's change, DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR BIG PARTIES! read more

This is the kind of place you really want to support. In a well restored building, the interior is inviting and comfortable; the kind of gathering spot where friends will want to meet and down a few beers. But... on a slow Wednesday night, our group of six waited over an hour for our food, which finally arrived... cold. Our waiter never asked if our food was satisfactory...he knew better. Makes you wonder how they handle a busy night. So, how long do you give a place like this to work the kinks out? Like I said, I'm really rooting for this new offering to make it. But I'm going to want to see a bunch of positive reviews before I return. read more

So, I went to the Old Iron Post Second time after my first bad experience. I decided to give it a shot. I wanted to see if they improved their menu and food itself. The waiter Banner that served us was so attentive to My friend and I. I decided to order the same thing I ordered before, the pulled pork sandwich but this time with Mac and cheese. This time pulled pork sandwich was warm and pork actually tasted not that bad. Mac and cheese was a little over spiced for me, but it was still really good. So I was satisfied with my food. My friend ordered pepperoni burger and sweet potato fries. OMG, potatoes were sooo good- crunchy, enough sweet and fresh. Burger was alright... Different. The service this time was much better too. Our waiter Banner did a great job making sure that we had everything and our drinks were full. I'm glad the Old Iron Post has improved and I hope it'll be getting better and better. read more

We came here during their soft opening and we weren't impressed with the food. The building is beautiful and the servers nice. We decided to give it another try recently. We really want this place to make it. The owner has put so much money into the remodel. The food is still not good. We couldn't eat any of our vegetable sides and we have eaten better cheeseburgers at the local fast food joints. We really like the bar and will probably return for drinks. read more

This has to be the best resturant I have had in a while! I was amazed how many amazing dishes they had since their opening when they only had a few items. Of the appetizers, I love the bacon cheese fries. The chips and caso were also amazing. When we got to entrees, it's almost too hard to decide! The monkey balls were good, The bacon cheese curds were a must have, and another great item is the bacon wrapped wings. The service is great too. My uncle let's me use the fountain thing to spray my drink. One server is super great, and was very welcoming. This place is a must go for food lovers of Grayson County Texas!! read more

the 903 beers on Tap as well as Deep Ellum brewery beers, food was great - Started lunch with BUFFALO CHIPS, which is Ground Chicken, blue cheese and herbs rolled up into a ball, breaded and fried. While served with Ranch, the flavor didn't require any dipping sauce for my taste. My entree was, "THE HATCH" Grilled chicken topped with spicy hatch chili sauce. A good piece of chicken the Hatch chilies were a little bland for me but otherwise a tasty dish. I had the 903 IPA - a hoppy IPA - pretty standard as far as IPA's go... the rest of the beers from the 903 certainly have a unique flavor and worth trying but none were really my preferred flavor in a beer. read more

Stopped here on a whim because it had outdoor dining in a beautiful Sunday afternoon! The waiter was very nice, the suggestions he made regarding the new cheesesteak sandwiches were spot on! I got the Cali Cheesesteak and the fresh avocado made it! I did cut the honey mustard dressing though as I thought it sounded too sweet. My husband got the Porker sandwich with BBQ sauce and he said it was great! We both got the Elote- Mexican corn side and it was amazing! Will definitely come back! read more

Been awhile since we last had this food. Well it's still bad. The French fries are the worst. Cooked in old oil and the fish tasted like grocery store frozen fish. And it was greasy. What's up with that? The coleslaw tasted sour so I banished it to the glad you could come can. The one thing I looked forward to they screwed up by putting it with the hot food. The cheesecake. And they forgot the sauce. A horrible time was had by all. read more
