Nothing says Tex Mex like biscuits and gravy and homemade pinto beans

Came in for breakfast and glad I did! Breakfast buffet Friday thru Sunday is so great! Great selection and awesome service. If you're looking for some homemade Tex Mex breakfast I highly recommend giving heavens gate a try. Exceeded my expectations!

Interesting place you have here. With a title of "Heaven's Gate", became skeptical about what we'd be getting into. Then we walked in and the decore is very religious, complete with the 10 commandments in the entry. Skepticism grew. We were seated right away and out waitress was amazing. Very attentive and had a GREAT personality. The place was clean and the food was very tasty, and to that the skepticism went away and we all enjoyed ourselves. We will be back another day!

I had to stop here. With the same name as a cult that killed themselves of course I had to stop. The place is nice and clean. They have a old style counter to eat at. Looks nice. I came for breakfast. Saw that they had a breakfast Buffett on the weekends. I ordered the Heavenly Omelet. It was very good. Too much food to finish. They was setting of the lunch Buffett as I finished. Didn't look too bad. The waitress was very nice and prompt. I would come back for breakfast. I will update stars when I try the lunch but all in all good place for breakfast and price. PS, no cult paraphernalia found....BOOOOOOO. LOL

We got the buffet.

Went here on a Friday morning with my mommy. And we both loved it! Place was clean and beautiful. Service was great our server was super nice and friendly. It was our 1st time here and we loved it! I loved the coffee. The food was great too. Beans yummm!

This place has good service. The staff is very attentive and they make the buffet food to order. The buffet is not that big. I heard they change the buffet daily but I am not sure what they are offering on the different days. I went on a Wednesday and they were offering fried chicken, baked chicken, meatloaf, chicken fried steak, and all types of sides. They have some amazing desserts. I hope to make my way back here. Oh, they have a breakfast buffet.

Found this place on Yelp by accident. Thought we'd give it a try. The place was clean, must wear a mask while getting your food. No spacing of tables, everyone can sit where they want. Lots of egg choices. Bacon was good! Sausage patty and link was not good at all. The sodas were to carbonated. The pork chop was good. The Menudo, was actually pretty good. The bacon and the Menudo were good. The waitress was awesome. She came by constantly and took care of our drinks and cleared our table of plates. It was okay, no wow factors. Glad we tried it, but will probably stick to other breakfast options. This place is far from my home.

This spot had 5-star service going on the day I went. On St Patty's Day, I tried out the breakfast buffet. I was immediately greeted as though I was entering someone's home. The waitress could not have been more pleasant, and of course, she was dressed in a green t-shirt (in honor of the day). She was that expert balance of friendly and taking care of you and checking on you that every restaurant diner adores in waitstaff. I reciprocated her fine service by tipping extra! The offerings on the breakfast buffet were hot and being replenished at a pretty good rate until around 10:30 AM. The restaurant begins getting ready for its lunch buffet at this time, so no more fluffy biscuits, pancakes, etc were being brought out. The waitress let me know that although they don't have an official omelet station, the cooks were making them fresh upon request. So, I had one with cheddar, onions, and bell peppers. The rest of the buffet included four variations of scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage patties, fruit, chicken fried steak, and fried pork chops. The taste winners were the surprisingly delicious fluffy homemade biscuits, as well as the light, crispy, non-greasy chicken fried steak and pork chops. The rest of the breakfast buffet fare was simply "OK to mediocre." Around 10:45 AM, they begin putting out the lunch buffet which also offers a wide variety of options, but I can't comment on taste because I didn't try any lunch food. Heaven's Gate is nice and clean and has a huge parking lot. There is ample seating inside, but this place does get packed due to the fact that it offers a reasonably priced buffet. They also offer a dinner buffet, as well as special holiday buffets. You can also order a-la-carte from a menu.

My monthly group of Retired Fort Worth cop's and I met there for lunch and were blown away. The quality of the food was outstanding and the ladies were very attentive to our needs and courteous to us and a relatively full restaurant. The lunch buffet was fantastic with many homemade items presented in a very clean setting. We were also told if we wanted a chicken fried steak to let her know and they would cook us one up. The homemade desserts were the cherry on top to a very filling lunch. We will be back and many of us will also be back with our families. There is also serve a breakfast buffet that I will be going to try out soon. When you go plan on being treated like royalty and provided an excellent meal.

How much is the lunch and breakfast buffet?

Around $11-$15. It is high but we'll worth the cost. They will prepare special orders like chicken fried steak and I believe omelettes and prepared eggs (haven't been to breakfast yet) all you can eat with a broad selection to choose from.

First, major credit to Avery and Nancy, who were incredibly kind and patient considering we arrived fairly close to the end of lunch service before the restaurant closed for its afternoon break. We never felt rushed, which I really appreciated. I started lunch by ordering another cocktail (which may or may not have had me buzzing a little by this point) along with the 12 oz. prime rib steak served with buttery herb mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and chimichurri sauce. I'll admit, the steak was thinner than I expected for Texas (I sort of anticipated a Flintstones-sized slab of beef) but honestly? It was fantastic. Juicy, flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth tender and cooked perfectly! The mashed potatoes were rich and even the vegetables were great! My dining companions ordered a bit lighter fare, I believe a salad and grilled cheese, but I was far too focused on my steak situation to pay close attention. I left absolutely stuffed and very, very, very happy about it. The atmosphere here is upscale without feeling pretentious. Between the Western inspired decor and the relaxed energy of the Stockyards area, it feels welcoming. Also worth noting: apparently bachelorette parties featuring men in cow-print overalls are welcome here too, so truly something for everyone. Great service, great food, and a really enjoyable dining experience overall. I'd happily come back the next time I find myself in Fort Worth!

Mediocre brunch, but beautiful setting with great service!…read more My family and I stopped by for brunch before exploring the Stockyards. I love how Texas the restaurant feels! Perfect place to bring out of town guests. For brunch, we got the Tostadas and the French Toast. The Tostadas were just ok -- I felt they were lacking in flavor. The French Toast was delicious! I'd be willing to come back and try some other menu options!

The operational execution is tight, and the staff is fantastic, but the real draw is the menu--simply a carnivorous delight of high-quality steaks and wild game specialties. We kicked off the night with a trio of phenomenal starters: the wild boar ribs tossed in their signature BBQ sauce, the elk sliders layered with sweet blueberry jam, and the rabbit-rattlesnake sausage served over a crispy manchego rosti with crème fraîche. While every bite was great, that sausage was an absolute standout flavor combination. Next up was a bowl of traditional Texas Red. As a major bean lover, I know a purist chili can be a gamble, but I had zero complaints here. The delivery was excellent, deeply flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. For the main event, the roasted garlic stuffed beef tenderloin was executed flawlessly, accompanied by a heavy-hitting lineup of sides: rich truffle-infused mac & cheese, crispy Brussels sprouts tossed in a savory bacon vinaigrette with black garlic, and perfectly sautéed Texas wild mushrooms. We tied the entire evening together with several LALO Ranch Waters, kicked up with a sharp, salted Tajín rim. It was a spectacular meal from start to finish. If you want a genuine Texas dining experience that delivers on its promises, this is the spot.

I would never have expected to try kangaroo, elk, rabbit, rattlesnake, and boar all in one night, but if that's your goal, this would be the perfect place to go. Our waiter did a perfect job of introducing his favorite items in the menu and allowing for each one of us in my group to get a piece of that appetizer on their own plate, which is which shown in the second picture. Instead of the appetizers served on its own plate. Every person in my group of eight got their own plate of individual appetizers so that we all got to try our own piece. I personally have never seen that before in other restaurants, but we were delightfully impressed with how accommodating this restaurant was of such a big group. This way, we didn't have to order multiple orders of the same appetizer and just got to eat off our own plate. My group also didn't opt for individual main courses instead shared every entrée we ordered which I thought was an amazing idea. I typically love family style when eating Asian cuisine so this was my first time eating family style in an American restaurant and I would highly recommend going this route at this restaurant to ensure that you try every unique dish they have.
