Since I was doing a staycation in Fort Worth this was a perfect opportunity to try a small business in the area. I love supporting minority businesses. Chef's Corner did not disappoint. Food: I give it 4 STARS Chicken and Waffles presentation was great. The chicken was piping hot and well seasoned. The waffles were soft and the sweet sauce served with it was delicious. The portion was huge and worth the money. The gumbo was yummy and full of flavor. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the taste. It warmed my soul and I felt it was made with love. The cocktails were good too. The margarita was my favorite. It was well made and the tajin rim was the magic touch. The peach henny was ok. It wasn't very peachy and for the cost it should have been better. The margarita was cheaper and was the better drink. Service: I give it 4 STARS My waitress was pleasant and friendly. She was polite and helpful. Ambiance: I give it 3.5 STARS It was clean and cozy, but simple and laid back. I like they have booths and tables. The bar has a variety of options for alcohol. Overall I enjoyed my experience. I left happy and full. I will definitely visit again when I'm back in the area.

We went with a large group and Chef's Corner did an amazing job handing a crowd of 35! We ordered chicken fried steak with green beans and the Cajun pasta. All was delicious! The staff couldn't have been more wonderful.

My first visit to Chef's Corner was a little unexpected--I pulled up to a gas station thanks to Google Maps, but thankfully found their beautiful new location in a nearby plaza. The space is bright, open, and super clean. Perfect spot for a family send-off meal before my mom headed to the airport. We ordered: Collard green dip to start--bomb! And the bread served with it? Amazing. Would love to know what it's called again!? Mom and daughter had the grilled salmon with mashed potatoes--clean and flavorful. Cousin had fried shrimp and catfish over grits with sausage--Southern comfort at its finest. I ordered the fried catfish platter with fries, greens, and mac & cheese. My sides came out first, but my main was delayed. Thankfully, my Hennessy "Henny lemon drop" kept me company while I waited. One thing I really appreciated--the greens were made with turkey, not pork. So many places default to pork, so this was a thoughtful touch that didn't go unnoticed. Despite the hiccup, the food was worth it. Looking forward to bringing more out-of-town family here for that soulful, Southern vibe. Chef's Corner is a hidden gem with heart.

I think I found my new spot to come enjoy some good food! @Everything was great, I was a big fan of the turkey leg and the toppings, the boudin balls and that sauce(my favorite) so full of flavor the food came out fast too! Great service and so much food had to pack it to go!

Came here for a birthday party/brunch service. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Ordered some Boudin Balls and they were amazing. Had a wonderful time, alogreat entertainment as well. We will be back!

I tried the chicken & waffles yesterday. Service was great & it was the best food ever! Can't wait to go back.

The food was good. The meat fell off the bones of the turkey leg. Only thing was Our server did not check on use after we received our food so no refills on our drinks.

    Catfish Po'Boy

Wowee. What a wonderful luncheon experience at Chef's Corner Restaurant! I ordered the Collard green spinach dip and the fried catfish po'boy--both were absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The dip was creamy and unique, and the catfish was fried to perfection with just the right crunch. Our server, Ricky, was friendly and attentive throughout the meal, making sure we had everything we needed. A special shout-out to Chef Michael , who personally came by our table to check on us--that extra touch really made the experience feel personal and welcoming. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!

My late grandmother was a superb country cook and her name was Maggie. Good omen! We got there about 11:45 and got a table right away. Our server was Devin and she was terrific. We split the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. The portion that they brought out was gigantic....plenty for two average appetites. What I really liked about it was - it was not over-breaded and it was fork-tender. (in my humble opinion, too many places are giving you a lot more breading that doesn't have meat under it. Yes, it's a first-world problem.) The mashed potatoes were also quite good, along with the cream gravy. I'm not a huge green bean fan, but my wife really liked them. This place has a cool vibe and we plan to return sometime soon. It's one of the top 3 CFS's we've had in Fort Worth / mid-cities.

We ordered nachos as an appetizer to split, along with two beers and a kids meal. What arrived was Motley Crue waking from a drug binge, raiding the pantry and trash, then declaring "let's do it." What was supposed to be nachos was anything but. The only explanation is someone who had never seen nachos tried to recreate them after hearing a rumor from someone at a Lowe's parking lot. The "chips" were not tortilla chips. They were rectangular strips of pale, flimsy material that looked like scraps of drywall film pulled out of a new construction site. An albino drywall experiment that somehow escaped the kitchen and landed on a plate. The entire thing was covered in barbecue sauce, with some mystery white liquid poured over the top. We assume it was supposed to be queso, but it definitely was not queso. Calling it queso feels disrespectful to actual queso. We ate maybe a quarter of it and decided we needed to leave before things got worse. Six hours later, we received an unannounced encore performance in the bathroom. I would avoid this place like a plague outbreak--unless you have an upcoming colonoscopy and want to skip the bowel prep.

I've had the burger, side lobster mac and cheese, and the Hudson salad here, both of which were delicious. Their cocktails are always a hit, too. I love their French 75 and Lemon Drop martini. Huge plus that their martinis are half off during happy hour. The last time I visited, I arrived around 45 minutes after the rest of the party. Our server immediately noticed and greeted me, showing how attentive they are. The food also came out pretty quickly. The first time I came here though, they were a bit stingy to seat us at a booth during happy hour, but asides from that one experience, I have no complaints about this location. There's a decently sized parking lot available (though it can fill up), along with street parking. Overall, I highly recommend visiting Hudson House, especially at the FW location!

We stopped in on a Sunday between about 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. It wasn't particularly busy, but the service was a bit slower than we expected. We sat at the bar and waited a while before receiving menus, and after ordering it also took some time to get our drinks or catch a bartender's attention. We ordered the oysters, and unfortunately they had quite a few shell fragments in them--enough that we didn't feel comfortable eating them. Once we were able to let the staff know, they were very kind about replacing the oysters, and the manager came over personally to apologize, which I really appreciated. This was my first visit to this location, and I'm hoping it was just an off day. I've always enjoyed Hudson House, and despite the hiccups, I would absolutely come back and give this location another chance because the atmosphere and the way they handled the issue left a positive impression.

The little extras they provide are a welcome addition and are truly incredible in their own right, from the glass of champagne, to the little round crispy appetizer ball thingy (I'm not even sure what it is but it's wonderful) with the accompanying aioli, to the delicate and airy popovers; what a beginning to each meal! I started with the Caesar salad, which was fresh, crisp and the dressing was subtle but authentic. I then varied from tradition and ordered the sea bass for my entree. Oh my what a treat! Perfectly cooked and paired well with the basmati rice and curry sauce. Lastly, the chocolate tart was so rich and delicious; a perfect ending to a great meal. Let me just give a special shoutout to the service in particular. I have not had such a good set of servers (from front of house to bartenders to waitresses) in a very long time. They were excellent. The food was also very good. However, to be honest, the steak was under-seasoned and a little on the tough side. I bought a 12-once ribeye and we split the 32-ounce tomahawk steak. Visually, stunning. But the ribeye was certainly on the tougher side and both steaks needed salt. Overall, really good experience - but I was expecting better flavor from the star dishes. Nonetheless, still would recommend.
