This Asian restaurant is poorly run, and a lot of the help does not speak good English! They lost their good cooks! The guy that made my stir fry did not ask what soy sauce to put. He put hot and I like sweet! He did this to everyone. He was also very sloppy, mixing my food with another and using the same spatula! I'm a vegetarian and don't want meat juice in my food! It totally ruined my meal. The food on the buffet is bland and normally not hot. I was told they always forget to turn on the heating element. The food is tasteless! I gave them another try 6-23-26 and the lady making my stir fry was very rude! She mixed my vegetarian with beef juice from food right next to it. She should space it out more! I ask for sweet sauce and she put none! The lady would not cook my food until I left and came back later! She turned around doing other stuff until I left! I never had that happen before. Horrible! I had no idea that an Asian Star Buffet was on my side of the town? I am familiar with the location on Bryant Irvin Road. My friend, S. Parker suggested this Restaurant since, I wanted something quick. I'm so glad he suggested this Restaurant. The service was quick, the food was okay and the prices were pricey. Lol. It was really nice as you walked in, it was very clean and the Buffet Bars were well organized and well maintained. I didn't see any spills on the Buffet Bar nor, did I see any food over lapping. They had a variety of everything! American food, a Dessert bar, a Fruit bar, etc, etc. The place was huge and there are so many sections of places to sit. It's great for large families! I had the Orange Chicken and the Sesame Chicken.It was pleasant but, the Chicken was was a little soggy because, it had an excess of sauce. The Fried Rice looked undercooked but, it was delicious it was nice and salty with a lot of fresh chopped Carrots. They also had a Honey Glazed Chicken that was so delicious! I would definitely recommend that! They also had an oversized Fried Shrimp that was delicious. It was crispy and crunchy and warm and fresh! I ordered a Sprite and it did not taste too well, not sure what was going on there? They also have ice cream available which is not too sweet. It was just right! They have a Chocolate fountain as well. I wasn't sure if I could stick my ice cream under the Chocolate fountain so, I went around asking several people if I could but, all the people I asked could not speak English? It was sort of a let down so, there is a language barrier. Overall, it was a good experience and I would return. I will tell all my friends about it! Sometimes good, sometimes disappointing. Spotty on restocking some of the fish selections on the dinner buffet. Also, they had no tartar sauce at all last time we were there. $18 per person for all you can eat snow crab legs. What more could you want from an Asian buffet?? They even had crab legs in the dead of winter--we went in December and January. The Mongolian grill is also amazing (just ask for light sauce since they are pretty heavy handed). Just those two things alone are enough to get you your moneys worth. read more

Some stuff was good while others not so much. The Lo main, dumplings and chicken kabob sticks were awesome. The breaded shrimp, house rolls and peppered chicken was also pretty good. Stopped by to find the place closed. After further information. This is what I found thanks to the Health Department. The full story is listed in the Fort Worth Star telegram as well. Asian Star was closed for serious health violations and roaches were seen in the health inspections, according to city data. This inspection took place from July 16 to July 29. Inspections are based on demerits. Restaurants receiving more than 30 demerits are required to fix the worst problems immediately and clean up the rest within 48 hours. Asian Star Buffet at 6920 Ridgmar Meadow Road received 35 demerits and was closed due to an improperly working walk-in cooler. Asian Star Buffet was the one of two restaurants receiving over 30 demerits. When the total exceeds 30, the restaurant must take immediate corrective action on all identified critical violations, then has 48 hours to initiate corrective action on all other violations. read more

Really good food. We had been here years ago when it was called something else. Back then the decor was the same as the previous tenant, which was Hometown Buffet. This time around the owners updated the look of the restaurant, and it finally looks like it has its own identity. Nice staff, too. Clean place. It is a very clean and organized buffet. We were promptly greeted and led to our table by a very nice man. Our drink order was taken and we went to get our food. There are many types of shrimp, beef, chicken, and fish. There is a sushi bar. The fish was very tender and flavorful. All the other food was tender and well made. Don't use this place, the food is okay, but they do not honor their citizens discount, I have been the place multiple times and there is always a reason why it foment work that day, today was because it was a holiday (MLK). There is no sign telling anyone that, I recommend driving over to Bryant Irving and going into the China King, same food but honor what they they have printed on the sign on the door. The only thing this place has going for it is how nice and attentive the staff were. I would give them a 5. The food was a big, fat zero with a friend agreeing with me. The baked salmon was bland like something you would find in a senior citizen home. We both had to spit out the sushi. The salt and pepper crab wasn't just mushy but like someone put it in a blender.
