    Bourbon Sherry Linguine

Large open bar at entry that can seat @ 40 patrons with smaller 2 seat tables in bar with a smaller dining area. Possibly a heavy focus on bar as it's a two page only menu with alcohol on the front, food on the back. Prices seem very reasonable. Old fashioned will set you back $13, glasses of wine in the 10-13 window. Great for fish fans with fried catfish and standard cod fish and chips and more classier dishes like blacked redfish, mahi mahi, shrimp and grits and more. I started with Boudin Balls which had 8-10 in the order. Took me all to decide if I liked them. For me missed the sausage profile and dirty rice texture but this seemed a different take served with hot "gravy" versus roumelade. I also missed the holy trinity flavor profile of peppers/onion/celery Surprised with jalapenonhush puppies which is complimentary to all tables. These were excellent. My entree choice was bourbon sherry and shrimp linguini. Sauce was fantastic. Generous shrimp portions. Possibly go to 8-10oz of pasta as I had a lot of sauce left would have loved more linguine. A couple of the shrimp were not completely cooked. These were larger profile shrimp and was a missed step. Staff was abundantly attentive. Mattie the hostess was wonderfully polite and friendly and even brought me my glasses I left at hostess stand when I looked at menu trying to decide if I would give this place a try. Someone please thank her for her smile and hospitality. It was originally created and launched in 2016-2017 by Razzoo's Cajun Café, an Addison, Texas-based restaurant company. After its early growth, it was later spun off/divested from Razzoo's in 2019. Following the spin-off, former Razzoo's president Chris Degan took control and became CEO/owner/operator of Tricky Fish. I think he is up to something good here. Couple little things and it's 5 star and when I'm back up in DFW for a convention center show I will likely check back.

Hits and a few misses. Fate brought us here. We were in the "neighborhood" and my sister needed to use the restroom so I decided to check out the menu. We have been here before but couldn't remember anything about the experience. (Not a good sign) We opted to have lunch. The beer battered cod caught our attention and the Parmesan Haddock sealed the deal. We started out with a side of the Fried green tomatoes. They were ok. Needed some "tanginess". Our waiter brought us a few hush puppies. Cheddar style with a little heat. Delicious! I ordered the Parmesan Haddock served over linguine. (Asked that the fish be served on a separate plate). The Haddock was a knock out solid home run. Flaky and tasty. The best tartar sauce ever to hit my Lips. Unique in every fantastic way. It's a must try. The linguine was ok. It's was missing tomatoes noted in the description. I also tried a cup of the kitchen sink gumbo. Major miss. Lacking flavor. On a rainy day you want your gumbo to have flavor. The toasted beget was slightly "burnt". My sister really enjoyed her beer battered cod. She's not a huge seafood/fish lover but enjoyed her sandwich and she bragged for 20 minutes on the Mac n cheese. The banana pudding is from another planet. It was delicious! Service. Greeted warmly and seated quickly. It took way too long to get tartar sauce. Asked for extra when ordering...especially for the sandwich and none was brought out with the food. A slight oversight but when we reminded our waiter it was still forgotten about and we had get up to go it. When the dessert was brought out our waiter cleaned the table and took our silverware. No biggie but an inconvenience.

The food was good and the service is nice. I got my food to go and the mahi mahi was dry, but maybe it cooked more on the drive home. The vegetables and mashed potatoes were tasty.

If you get excited about southern food and you think this place is season well it's not. It's very basic seasoning basic people. I'm from Southwest Louisiana looking for a good place That seasons heavy and never found one yet! I will keep looking! Dishes are very plain here

Tricky Fish is a coastal cajun restaurant near Whole Foods. They offer lunch and brunch specials and cocktails specials daily. The food is great, very well seasoned with lots of flavor. The dining room is large and open. They also have a wonderful dog friendly patio. The service is good, the staff is very knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, really great.

We recently visited Tricky Fish for a celebratory lunch honoring a great friend, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Our party of 11 truly enjoyed every last bite. The food was absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes were very generous. Started off with their sample of hush puppies and a side of butter. Highlights included the Kitchen Sink Gumbo loaded with shrimp, fish, chicken, andouille, and rice; the rich and flavorful Bourbon Sherry Shrimp Linguine each dish was prepared beautifully and full of flavor. On top of the great food, the service was outstanding. Cristal and Pantera took excellent care of our large group, keeping everything running smoothly with friendly, attentive service. This was the perfect spot for a celebration, and we'll definitely be back. Also they add 20% gratuity to eight or more as a group automatically

It was our first time here. It is a nice sized and bright space. Nice & attentive staff. Mostly tables vs booths (only seats 4 btw). My etouffe was tasty and mild Spicy (default). The kids meal was good quality & portion for my 7 y/o & came with a drink. Redfish dish was a good portion and tasty; okra was crispy fyi. The fried green tomatoes with shrimp and a nice shareable size and fresh. Bloody Mary was a hit. They do have week day happy hour food & drink specials which are tempting. Definitely worth a try if I'm a seafood mood.

Food was good, ambiance ok and service pretty good (server was not the friendliest but got better as time went on). My husband had the bourbon sherry shrimp linguine and it was very good. Did not get a picture of that.

We had an amazing experience at Tricky Fish! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The children's shrimp and rice meal was a huge hit -- the shrimp were tender and seasoned just right, and the rice was fluffy and delicious. It's not always easy to find a kids' meal that's actually good quality, but they nailed it! The mahi and shrimp tacos were absolutely outstanding. The fish was perfectly cooked, the shrimp were juicy, and all the toppings complemented everything beautifully. Every bite was fresh and full of flavor. And let's talk about the okra -- hands down the BEST okra ever! Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and not greasy at all. I could've ordered a second batch just for myself! Great food, great atmosphere, and we'll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Fiance and i walked were exploring and walked past an oddly placed and weirdly small laundromat…read morebefore realizing that there is no way this just a tiny random laundromat. We poke our heads in (accidentally going through the exit door. the front door is well camouflaged) and just found a wonderful very chilled out bar. Haven't been to a speakeasy in a long time. It was dark lighting with ambient black lights and string lights to keep it dim but you wont struggle to see through. Music was not super loud and the chairs were incredibly comfortable and the whole place was laid out to just have drinks and lounge while talking with friends. No food, which is fine. You have plenty of options on the same block for that. This place is just for drinks and conversation. The seasonal menu was awesome. It iss a bar so they of course can make anything you request if you don't want a specialty cocktail. I got my favorite, a moscow mule but they had a brazilian mule on the specialty menu. I never had that before and ordered it on the spot. It was grapefruit vodka with lime, lots of fine pellett nugget ice (the really good kind) with ginger beer and condensed milk. My god it was great, they told me how they made it because i never saw milk added to this before. It was a delicious limeade that almost was slushy like, creamy and with tangy vodka. Plus they actually served it in a proper copper mug. Best mixed drink ive had period and a cool twist on my favorite standard moscow mule. The place is now going to become a frequent haunt for us. Its very laid back, relaxed, with fantastic ambiance. It doesn't get jammed packed and is not meant to get wild in. We went there around 7pm on a friday night with about 8 or so others already there with their drinks. It did pick up later with 15-20 people in there but still spacious and comfortable. It genuinely was just a nice bar to have drinks and conversations with friends. Nice music that isn't too loud so you can talk with normal voice levels. The bartenders we had were super nice and charismatic. The drinks were not expensive, a respectable 13 bucks for my mule. If you have a bill over 40 dollars they automatically add 20% gratuity to it so keep that in mind when you are tipping. And after 8pm everything had 20% gratuity added to the bill. But the service is so damn good that you will probably still want to tip on top of that anyways. I loved it so much i actually made a yelp account just to post a review. TLDR super cool speakeasy type joint, cool aesthetics and laundry theme. Not loud, good for drinks and chit chat, cool well crafted specialty cocktails that don't break the bank. Good bartenders. Good times. Cozy seats that encourage you to hang out and talk even with folks you haven't met before and dim without being dark lighting. Clean bathroom too and quick charismatic service. Hit this place up for sure even just for the novelty of it. It was a wonderful surprise bar for a date night. Pro tip for this area in general. all paid parking, some place validates some do not, i am unsure if they do here but there is paid parking right out front and also a paid lot literally across the street. But i don't even bother. About a block and a half away northeast is a big shopping complex with a target. i just park there for free and walk. its a short nice walk and doesn't cost 20 bucks.

Highlights: Super fun speakeasy-style entrance Small interior, but the seating is arranged really well for different group sizes and feels surprisingly comfortable I don't recall them offering food during my visit, but the bartenders were friendly and were able to make a great mocktail Surrounded by different eateries, so it's easy to grab food nearby before or after drinks Easy parking, which is always a plus (street or parking garage nearby)

None of our meals disappointed us and we left very satisfied by the experience. Memories for a lifetime! While it was a lovely experience in a stunning environment, it fell a bit short of the high bar you'd expect for a $95/pp tea service. The Good: First and foremost, the environment is absolutely beautiful. The Bowie House, Bricks & Horses restaurant, and the Mulberry Room itself are gorgeously decorated with a sophisticated Texas Western theme. The atmosphere in the Mulberry library is intimate and visually striking. Additionally, the service was excellent from start to finish, being both attentive and professional. The food portions are quite generous, with both the savories and sweets served together on a single tower. The sweets were the highlight of the food, as they were very delicious and surprisingly large. We also really enjoyed the tea selections themselves, particularly the Earl Grey and the plum rooibos. The Letdowns: Unfortunately, a few details missed the mark, especially considering the premium price point: - The "Champagne": The experience is advertised as including a glass of Champagne, but we were actually served Prosecco. At nearly $100 a person, substituting Prosecco for real Champagne or Cremant is a major disappointment. - The Tea Service: Instead of receiving a teapot to enjoy throughout the afternoon, the tea is steeped directly in the cup. This limits you to a single cup per tea variety, though to be fair, I didn't ask if refills were an option. - Food Refinement: While the portions were large and the savories were tasty, they lacked the elegance of a traditional tea. Every savory option was open-faced and heavily blanketed in microgreens and edible flowers, which felt a bit unrefined. - Comfort & Conversation: The Mulberry library features low couches, deep chairs, and coffee tables. While this setup would be absolutely perfect for relaxing with a glass of whiskey, it makes leaning over to eat finger foods highly uncomfortable. Furthermore, the seating layout isn't ideal for holding a natural conversation with the people in your party. Overall: It is a nice experience in a breathtaking Fort Worth hotel, but I'm not sure I would return. If the price point were lower, the execution would make more sense. However, given the other highly refined afternoon tea options available across DFW for less money, this one doesn't quite live up to its price tag.
