Plank Provisions at Clearfork continues to be one of our favorite weekend spots, and this visit reminded me why. It was a beautiful day to sit back, relax, and enjoy everything Clearfork has to offer. Katy was our server, and she was absolutely wonderful--friendly, attentive, and made our experience even better. We ordered the seafood platter, which was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly complemented by both the wine sauce and hot sauce. And yes, I ordered the French fries too--simply because I was craving them--and they definitely hit the spot! The Bloody Marys were outstanding and paired perfectly with the meal. Between the great food, excellent service, and beautiful atmosphere, it was another fantastic visit. I'm so glad this place is here locally in Fort Worth! There are other locations down in Austin is the original. Feels like you stepped into a beach side restaurant in North Carolina or South Carolina. From the atmosphere to the food. All the people from the managers to the servers were extremely nice and helpful and accommodating. And all the food was delicious. The mahi was not my favorite but every other dish we had was amazing. I love brussels sprouts and these are one of the best in town. Absolutely love Plank! First tried them in Austin & I've been so grateful for this addition to FW. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and well kept. Plank has a solid HH that is every day - yes, weekends included! Always a plus in my book! On this particular dining experience, we stopped in for an early dinner on Monday and it was not too crowded and we were able to snag a seat at the bar with no issues. Our bartender, Colton, was amazing! He was so personable, took the time to chat and make jokes with us, and was super attentive. As time went on, the bar started to fill up a bit more but he never lost focus on each of his customers and was very efficient. Very beautiful ambiance, great happy hour deals on food and cocktails! Attentive service. I had the Brussel sprouts from the happy hour menu. Surprised they aren't cut in half when roasted. Only the larger Brussels were cut. Then I ordered the fried shrimp. Served super hot and fresh. They are jumbo sized shrimp which is great and you get four with fries, coleslaw and two hush puppies. I didn't love the breading on the shrimp and I like a little more flavor to my tartar sauce. I would go back to try the fresh catch of the day and other appetizers. We visited today, once again for lunch. Our lovely server, Carter, attended perfectly and graciously to us during our meal. We knew we wanted again the redfish ceviche. And again, it was superb. We also decided to try the yellowtail sashimi. Having paid no attention to the description on the menu we requested soy sauce and wasabi to accompany it as we're accustomed to using when enjoying sashimi. Carter very graciously did not exclaim, "What the hell are you thinking about?". Hahaha. When I took a good look at the dish I said to Anne, "No that's wrong. No soy on this!" It is a lovely presentation consisting of thin slices of yellow tail garnished with serrano, orange, pickled ginger, white shoyu, and cilantro. This is probably the most remarkable and enjoyable yellowtail crudo preparation we have ever had. The dish is enhanced by a sprinkling of Maldon salt. We had planned to share an order of the delicious bacon wrapped shrimp, but decided to round out our luncheon with another order of the yellowtail sashimi. So good. read more

We visited Plank Provisions at The Shops at Clearfork and had an amazing experience. This review will be brief since we only tried one dish: the Atlantic Salmon. My recommendation is to enjoy the salmon without wine or any other drink--just water. If you rinse your mouth before each bite, you'll notice an incredible burst of flavor every time. We ordered the salmon cooked medium, and both the fish and the risotto stayed perfectly warm throughout the meal. The hostess and our waiter were outstanding and even suggested what may be the best table in the entire restaurant. The total for two salmon entrées, including tip, was around $72, and it was absolutely worth it. read more

I asked for the waiters recommendation for a cool refreshing cocktail & got the Cucumber Collin's, which turned out to be perfect for the occasion. Wow. I'm so full I can barely move. Service - beyond excellent. Ambiance - sea-worthy with sky constellations. Love it! Food on a scale of 1 to 10? 12. Before 8 go on, here are my disappointments. These disappointments pull down my yelp rating from a 6 star to a 5 star. 1) Parking is horrible. Not just horrible, but horribly horrible. Be prepared to park away, so it's not a good idea to wear flip flops or cute uncomfortable shoes. If luck is on your side and you snatched a parking spot up close, go buy a lottery ticket! 2) I love the inside decor and the big windows. But...where the Plank is located, theres not a lot to look at...except for the T-mobile store across the street. Which actually reminded me to pay my bill. I had an espresso martini that was To. Die. For. Not an over-exaggeration! I went in for the redfish ceviche and dessert, but ended up staying for drinks and lunch. The redfish appetizer is excellent. The bacon and jalapeno wrapped shrimp with dirty rice and green beans was magnificent. The Butterscotch Budino dessert was fabulous! And the Oak Cliff pressed coffee was divine. The establishment is warm and cozy. I had the pleasure of meeting three friendly and professional staff members. I'll start with dessert. If you like peanut butter you'll love the chocolate terrine. It was plated beautifully and the peanut butter ice cream was robust. The item I enjoyed the most during my visit was the redfish ceviche. The leche de tigre, avocado, red onion, and black garlic were fresh and flavorful. There was a hint of spice and the tostadas added a nice crunch to the dish. The calamari was fried perfectly. However, for $15, I had better seasoned calamari for half the price. The blackened catfish alone gets 1 star. It's the primary reason for my overall 3 star review. I've ordered blackened catfish from many restaurants over the years. This one is the worst! I'm not saying the catfish or entree was bad. But, for the amount I paid I expected a savory mix of spices. If you enjoy a bold, flavorful, cajun, southern comfort blackened catfish this is NOT for you. Sorry, but lack of seasoning in Cajun and Creole cuisines is disrespectful. If you receive a catfish that's blackened correctly it shows they're inconsistent with preparing menu items. I will say the way it's prepared you don't have to worry about heartburn. Think is the best happy hour spot I've found for oysters in Fort Worth. I love that it's close by a lot of other shops/activities in The Shops at Clearfork. Whether you're winding down after work or warming up for dinner, this costal-chic spot delivers a perfect happy hour for seafood lovers. The chef choice oysters are $1.50 during happy hour which is everyday (yes this includes weekend days) from 3 - 6p. They have other great happy hour deals as well including $7 prosecco + 25% off wine bottles, $6 oyster shots (think Bloody Mary with a surprise) and sushi + shareable from $7. In our first visit to Clearfork in quite some time, we noticed that Plank had opened in what had previously been a high-turnover spot for restaurants here, so we opted to give it a try. Walking in, we really liked the vibe and the decor. Definitely a place you can enjoy a casual meal, happy hour, or even a nice dinner. Also liked how it has a bit more space and wasn't as loud as some of the other recent seafood additions in Fort Worth (that are also quite good), such as Walloon's and Hudson House. There are plenty of enticing items on their medium-sized menu, too many to try in one stop, so I opted for a good bellwether of any decent gulf seafood place, the Shrimp Po' Boy, which was delicious. The shrimp was fresh and fried perfectly and the remoulade hot sauce is a great addition that kicks this po' boy up a notch. Followed up with some great fries, this was a solid meal outing. Amazing Happy Hour eats!!! Plank offers $1 per oyster deal that you can't miss! The oysters tasted incredibly fresh and is served on a bed of ice to preserve freshness. It also comes with some meat cocktail sauce that you can drip from a pipette on to the oyster to your liking. I love the level of customization that comes with this dish. My personal favorite is the golden beets dish. Unlike regular red beets, golden beets give a much sweeter underlying taste without the earthy geosmine aftertaste that is typical of most other beets. The goat cheese and Citrus dressing brings the dish together really well with savory, sweet, and acidic notes. Calamari is a nice appetizer. Well fried and crispy. The staff was very friendly. We were quickly seated by the Host and server. Food did not take too long to come out. The restaurant was spacious and well lit with just a slight dim of ambiance. Some standout dishes are calamari that also has fried vegetables which is a nice touch. The beignet hushpuppies are nice but a bit dense. First time coming back in this area in a while now. Plank provision is a beautiful, coastal themed restaurant that fits perfect here in Clearfork. We spilt an order of Cod fish in chips which includes coleslaw and fries on the side. It also came with a cute bottle dropper of vinegar to complement the fish. I honestly can say that I may need to come back to try other dishes especially for the HH oysters. The fish and chips were ok, not spectacular. It was eye pleasing but the bottom part of the batter is kinda soggy when it was served to us and that gave me a little "ick" texture feel so I ended up just scooping out the fish to feast on. Fries were hot and fresh and coleslaw was light and crisp. Our server, Kimberly, was very welcoming and made sure everything was great. Thank you so much, Kendall and Plank! This was an enlightening experience, as it was my first time visiting that part of Ft Worth. I loved that area, but the parking is no joke. To help with the parking not being so stressful, they do have a parking garage. You'll have a little walk to the actual restaurant, but there are cute little shops to visit along the way or to visit after you leave the restaurant. When you enter the eatery, the decor is breathtaking. A few minutes after being seated, we met our waitress, Caity B. She was very sweet and bubbly and was well-versed on the menu, including their drink menu. She had great suggestions, and when it came to the drinks, she was spot on. That's where the pleasantries ceased. After we were served our drinks and dishes, we didn't see her again. She stopped by once, after each new serving, but that was it. I observed other waitresses in our area, and they were very attentive and visited their tables throughout their stay. She would even walk by our table, without asking if we needed anything. Eventually, I had to ask someone else for their assistance. One thing I would suggest she not do, ever again. When we were going over our drink menu, she responded using "black voice". After I started speaking, she dropped it quickly and did not repeat it. That was highly unprofessional and could have gone in many directions. Her service was very disappointing, but her knowledge of the menu was appreciated. The menu for the evening: Cucumber Collins and House Margarita: It was so delicious and so fresh. I'm not a margarita person, but their version of it was delicious. The Cucumber Collins, again, was so fresh and one hundred percent refreshing. I would highly suggest both drinks. Redfish Ceviche: A bit too acidic, but overall, it was a great starter. You could taste the freshness in every single bite; the tostada was spot on and was paired perfectly with the ceviche, a great combination. Shrimp Toast: We ended up sending this back; it missed the mark, completely. I noticed, in some of the comments on their page, several mentioned their food can sometimes be underseasoned. This was the issue with the toast; it was bland, and I feel they relied on the overuse of the sauce, to make up for the lack of seasoning. Mixed Green & Asian Pear w/ blackened shrimp: The salad was fresh and very delicious. However, again, the shrimp were underseasoned and slightly overcooked. I wish I had gotten the salad without the shrimp, they were not worth the additional cost. Lemon Tart: This was different; it wasn't a typical lemon tart, it didn't have the kick of lemon upon the first bite. The lemon was very subtle, and the crust was a bit too thick for a tart; I am indifferent. I wouldn't call it a tart, but instead, it is a mini-pie. A tart, it didn't come close to that. Crunchy Kani Maki & Everything Crunch Maki: Someone else had these, she said, these left a bit more to be desired. Overall, they were okay. I don't know if I'll visit again, but if I do, it will definitely be for those refreshing drinks. I observed the popular plates that were being ordered by others: the oysters (raw and broiled), the sashimi, calamari, and, of course, their drinks. I'm grateful I was able to try this place out. The Caesar salad was dressed perfectly, nice and crisp with a beautiful egg. The bacon wrapped shrimp was divine. Plump shrimp cooked perfectly, the rice and green beans a perfect complement. Overall my experience s was great i waited for nothing i was immediately sat when i entered, no reservation and my waitress was promptly taking my drink order. Luckily the drink menu isn't to large but the old fashioned they have is very good as well as the Pinot noir. Only reason for the 4 stars is due to the salmon over mushroom risotto. It comes with a couple of sauces of your choosing that you can pipe that directly onto the oyster! It certainly an experience if you're into oysters. They're redfish Ceviche is also a good option. Their foods are very well plated and is a feast for the eyes as much as it is for the stomach. Spacing is quite plentiful. The face is not brightly lit but adequate for a nice ambiance. The thick cut fries, were perfect fluffy tender potatoes inside, and perfect crispy texture on the outside! The fish was perfectly flaky inside, delicate crust outside, not heavy nor dense breading. When I walked into this restaurant I was super excited by the amount of people that were in there. It seems like a good thing to see when you're so hungry. As I waited for my friends to arrive, it took a while for the waitress to say anything to me but I know she was busy and I'm assuming short staff. My husband and I are regular patrons of clear fork restaurants and had not yet tried Plank. It was our anniversary and my husband knows how much I love seafood so he booked a reservation for us. The restaurant has a nice ambiance but for 7 on a Saturday night they weren't busy, which should have been a sign. Our waitress was very friendly and explained the menu and daily menu as well. We had soft drinks and ordered the crab dip, which was mostly cheese. I ordered the grilled salmon and it said it came with mushroom risotto and brussel sprouts. The salmon was cooked fine and the risotto was not creamy like it should have been. It was clearly made with water and was edible, but not good. The brussel leaves were incorporated in the risotto, not actual brussel sprouts as a side. My husband had the fried shrimp. The shrimp were far too large, hard and not tender. The fries were good and slaw had a weird taste, almost like it was made with buttermilk and slightly sour. We had to wait on a refill of his drink longer than we should have. Our waitress did comp the crab dip since we didn't get dessert or alcohol, which was nice of her. Overall I am giving 2 stars for ambiance and service, otherwise the food is not better than red lobster and costs significantly more than the quality of the food that was offered.
