We've been to Zeke's several times for lunch and have never been disappointed. It's a small place that looks like it's been around a while, and it has a lot of character. Our most recent visit was for lunch on 4/11/2025, and it was excellent, just like the other visits. I had the fish special: two pieces of cod, fries, and a couple of hush puppies. There are plenty of places where you can get catfish, but not many that serve good cod filets. My fish was delicious. It was hot, crispy, and the two good-sized pieces were all I needed for lunch, especially with fries. Parking can be challenging, so keep that in mind. Other than that, if I am looking for fried fish and chips, Zeke's is the top of my list. read more

My boyfriend wanted to try this place since he loves fish and chips. He ordered the special fish dish with 2 pcs of fish and I got the shrimp special with 6 pcs of shrimp. The fish was pretty good. The batter wasn't flavored much and the tartar sauce was ok. I did enjoy the shrimp and the cocktail sauce it came with. It was also a good amount of fries and it came with 2 hush puppies. It's been a while since I have eaten at Zeke's and the food has not changed one bit. My favorite is the cod but they do offer catfish and a whole lot of other options. They have cold drinks and beer that you can order by the pitcher. Hush puppies are on point! Wait staff is friendly and always helpful to make sure you have enough tartar sauce and dill sauce for you fried veggies or fried mushrooms. I decided to take my partner here since we've been frequent in Fort Worth quite often. Celebrating their 55th anniversary it goes to show how great their food really is. It is very diving however it's still very homey. I've been visiting this location for the last 18 years and it never gets old. It is what it is sitting on the back side of Camp Bowie Blvd tucked behind Jack n the box. The staff is always so friendly and there are zero complaints here. We split a cod plate and a veggie plate. Portion size. Everything was king sized! It was way bigger more than we could eat in 1 sitting. The quality of the ingredients. Everything had a fresh taste. (Even though I suspect the fried vegetables were pre-processed, not done in house) The cook. Everything, especially the cod, was cooked perfectly! It was all crispy and not greasy at all. It was very, very clean. The bad: Flavor. (Or lack of) Everything,especially the cod, had zero seasoning. No salt, no spices in the batter. Everything was really bland. Maybe that's authentic to English style? My wife, who is not 100% anti-salt (but she is anti-salt adjacent) even needed to add salt. What a great visit to a Fort Worth institution that has been around for decades. Zeke's is one of the oldest restaurants in Fort Worth. If you want fish and chips, Zeke's is the place to go. Zeke's is old school with the malt vinegar on the table. My wife is not a big fish fan, so she ordered one of Zeke's phenomenal chicken salad sandwiches. They're known for preparing delicious chicken salad. With my fish and shrimp combo, I started with a bowl of perfectly prepared Cole slaw. Both of our entrees, my fish and shrimp and my wife's chicken salad sandwich were so delicious. It was great dining at Zeke's. We shared the tacos (one each of cod, cat, and shrimp) - the tacos were gone before I could take a photo Then we shared a few of the combo baskets with catfish and shrimp, and those came with sides so we sampled - salad, fried mushrooms, corn nuggets, clam chowder, gumbo, dirty rice, and hush puppies! My only complaint was that we ordered 2 catfish and 1 cod combo and ended up with 3 catfish. We didn't realize until we stated eating so didn't speak up. First of all, the service here was great! The folks who worked there are the reason this gets 4 starts instead of just 3. I had the fish, shrimp n chips special. The fish (i chose the cod) was overbreaded and kind of greasy.i did enjoy the Shrimp. They were perfectly breaded and I did enjoy them. The mushrooms were really good, but I do agree that the fries are lack luster. However, as a whole it was so delicious. I also tried the gumbo!
