We enjoyed this place though getting a reservation was challenging even on a weekday. Make sure you make reservations. We would've loved to sit outside but we weren't presented with that option so we had to sit at the bar, which was okay but would've loved to sit outside since we were going to a rooftop restaurant. We started with a salmon crudo which was very good along with a couple of cocktails. Our rolls were fresh and very good as well but nothing super memorable. We enjoyed the nikuya cut and golden bite but did not like the cowboy kiss at all compared to popular opinion, we thought it had an unpleasant crunch. Service overall was very good, we would return here and try to sit outside for a better experience.

Visited Nikuya on a Friday evening (10pm reservation). While most of what we ate was 10/10 - very complex and depthy, well thought out flavor profiles, and the outdoor ambiance was definitely dreamy - the service and "togetherness" of the experience was lacking. Maybe they're new, maybe they were EOD & lost attention to detail, maybe short staffed - all which could explain, we still had a very nice time and will definitely go back, but will prob give them some time to work out kinks first. Otherwise, a nice new addition to downtown & the upscale sushi world here!

This is such an amazing "hidden gem" that I'm sure won't be hidden much longer. We were lucky to score 2 seats on a Friday night which is not easy and without reservations nearly impossible. (The view from the top at night is ) We were greeted by an amazing staff at the top of the Sinclair Hotel and were seated with a front row seat to the chefs work. The sake and cocktail menu is incredible and the staff is extremely knowledgeable on both the drinks and the food. The menu isn't super expansive which means that they do amazing work in every single piece that is sent from the chef. Every single thing we had was bursting with flavors and textures. The edamame hummus was like nothing I'd ever experienced. The handrolls were fresh. The sushi was the perfect portions. You MUST try the oysters. Even if the usual "fishy" oysters aren't your thing, the foam and trout roe make each bite an incredible mouth adventure. With them only being open 6 weeks, it was incredible to see how efficient and expert everyone was at their stations already. My wife is Gluten Free and they were so helpful in coordinating with the chef as the what could be prepared GF without compromising our experience. It did NOT disappoint. In fact the staff told us that we were helpful in curating future menus and denoting "gf" on the menu for future guests. The next time we are in Funky Town we will Definitely be getting a reservation here.

We decided to have a girls night and check out this restaurant located at the top of The Sinclair hotel. Baby... let me tell you; this place was absolute fire! We tried nearly the whole menu (literally, we may have missed maybe 3 dishes and there wasn't a single miss). The Rich Daddy stole the entire show -- and was easily the best thing we ate. I'm already planning my return so I can order about 7,282,929 more. The rolls were great, the nigiri sushi was fresh, the appetizers slapped, and the drinks all were good. (I think I just found my new favorite old fashioned) Huge shoutout to our server, Hannah -- she was fantastic. She was attentive and extremly friendly and made the whole night even better. My girlfriends and I have been ranting and raving about this place nonstop, and we will definitely be coming back.

We had an incredible experience at the new rooftop sushi restaurant on top of the Sinclair Hotel in downtown Fort Worth. Parking is easy with either street parking or the Sinclair's valet. Be sure to stop by the Wicked Butcher host stand first as you'll need to be escorted to the elevator for access up. Once you step off the elevator, your reservation is confirmed and you're guided to either the patio or the indoor sushi bar. We booked patio seating, got cooler throughout the evening, but the staff were very accommodating with moving us closer to a nearby fire pit. Inside seating is limited, so reservations are a must. We booked through the RESY app, which was super simple and even sent reminders a few days ahead and on the day of. You can note allergies or celebrations in the app, though the staff will confirm again once you're seated. Our server, Hannah, was fantastic. Very knowledgeable of the menu and perfectly attentive. She paced each dish beautifully throughout the night and made the whole experience feel special. You're welcomed with a complimentary glass of bubbles and the chef's amuse-bouche, which is such a classy touch. Now for the food--we tried nearly the entire menu and everything was fresh, presented beautifully and full of flavor: Appetizers Scallop Crudo Oysters Tuna Tartare (favorite!) Handrolls Juicy Pop Crabby Hands Rich Daddy (favorite!) Makimono Sweet Escape Nikuya Cut (favorite!) The Sinclair Cowboy Kiss (on the house due to a nearby table's order mix-up--very kind gesture) Nigiri Hamachi Chutoro A friend ordered one of each off the Nigiri menu and said everything she tried was excellent as well. We still have a few items left to explore, and we're already planning our next visit to experience Omakase style at the sushi bar. Highly recommend for the stunning views, memorable dishes, and top-tier service. Fort Worth truly needed this addition.

The sushi was absolutely delicious and incredibly fresh. Every dish was beautifully prepared and you can really taste the quality. It was such a pleasant surprise. Date Night at Nikuya Rooftop = Perfection Nikuya Rooftop gave romance and good food energy all night. The sushi was so fresh and buttery it almost stole the show from my date. The rooftop vibe was dreamy, the lighting was flattering (bless them), and the service was on point. Nikuya Rooftop is a must try! Make sure to make reservations in advance and arrive on time as this place is popular and only has a few seats indoors. All indoor seats provide views of downtown. I highly suggest trying at least one item off each portion of the menu as all of the food is delicious and great to try if you have not eaten sashimi vs nigiri before.

Nikuya Sushi Rooftop Bar at The Sinclair Hotel is truly a hidden gem in downtown Fort Worth. The sushi is absolutely amazing--fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The rooftop views and atmosphere make it a perfect spot for date night or a night out with friends. A couple of things to keep in mind before you go: because the rooftop is surrounded by glass, it gets extremely hot during the day when the sun is shining. I highly recommend visiting later in the afternoon or at night to fully enjoy the experience and the incredible downtown views. Also, there is a two-hour seating limit, likely because there are only 16 chairs in the bar area, so plan accordingly if you're hoping to linger. Overall, the food and ambiance are fantastic, and I'll definitely be back for another sushi night under the city lights! read more

We sat outside despite being over 90 degrees in July. The inside is really small and really a bar. Outside has better ambience and was pretty dead given the temperature. The menu is limited. The food is spectacular. you just have to be a bit adventurous. We loved the sushi. The ones with the dipping sauces were incredible. I'm really happy they turned this place into a stand alone restaurant from the hotel. Such a nice environment and unique menu. read more

The good: The ambience is lovely. Nice decor. Beautiful views. The hand rolls and oysters were delicious. They were kind enough to accommodate me at the bar without a reservation. The mid: Drinks were average. I eventually just ordered a beer. The sushi rolls were flavorless in my humble opinion (yes, even with the sauces). Service was not at the level of "upscale" dining, if we're considering it that. My entrees came out before the appetizer and my plates were never cleared (wouldn't have been that big a deal but your personal eating area is tight). The bad: The place is not accessible. The elevator never arrived, so the front desk had to key me in, then I had to climb stairs to finally access the place. What if a person with a disability wants to eat there? Back to service, the check was pushed over to me at the end (maybe I didn't order enough?) and picked up long before I was even halfway through my last beer. Lastly, maybe they should consider better air conditioning as that whole place is a room of windows, as well as ambient music to drown out that one annoying girl on a date at the end of the bar that never shuts up! The food was above average. Closest to NYC sushi in the Lone Star State. (Yes, even over Uchi, Tei Tei, etc.) The trip to the top is a nice one. Travel through the 1930s Sinclair's Art Deco vibes to the roof where you can burn on the open patio or sit in the all-glass air-cooled atrium where the bar is. This is where we ate. Lovely wait staff. Great menu and quality. The poor A/C units were huffing and puffing for dear life though, perhaps this is on us for going in the dead of summer. No warm sake, folks, so that was the only culinary disappointment. read more

We had a party of eight for my birthday, and while the experience started off well, it gradually became disappointing. The service was friendly at first, although drinks were a little on the slower side. I completely understand that sushi is made fresh to order, so I expected the food to take some time. However, as the evening went on, the service noticeably slowed down. It took quite a while to get water refills and even longer to receive our check. Considering the restaurant wasn't particularly busy during our reservation, it was surprising. One thing that really caught us off guard was the birthday dessert. My husband asked if the restaurant did anything special for birthdays since the reservation was specifically for my birthday. They brought out a slice of cake, which was a nice gesture, but we later discovered we had been charged $14 for it without anyone mentioning there would be a charge. That felt misleading and definitely left a bad impression. As for the food, it was unfortunately underwhelming. Out of the five dishes I personally ordered, I truly enjoyed only one. The rest were just okay--not bad, but not memorable either. For a $243 dinner and a reservation that took over two weeks to secure, I expected a much more impressive experience. Overall, I really wanted to love this place, but between the inconsistent service and the food not living up to the hype, it just didn't meet my expectations. read more

I almost hate to give this review because the more people find out about it the harder it will be to get a seat/ reservation. This is by far the nicest and most professionally ran restaurant in ft worth or midcities. I can't speak for Dallas because I don't go there but in ft worth this place is awesome. The food was authentic and fantastic. The manager Colin is attentive to everything that goes on and assures everything goes smoothly. My friend and I went to Nikuya Rooftop and really enjoyed our experience! The ambience was beautiful. Our waitress was attentive and timing was great. The Salmon Crudo and Tuna Tartare were recommended by our waitress for appetizers and they did not disappoint! We ordered the Cowboy Kiss and Rich Daddy hand rolls as our main and both were fantastic. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Stopped in for a girls night when we realized it was open. Hostess was so sweet and sat us at a table, our server, Rei, was so sweet and the drinks were delicious. Great experience all around. We didn't have reservations but they were able to seat us right away. The service was attentive being overbearing. The food was wonderful, from the edamame hummus to the sushi rolls. The Smoke and Mirrors cocktail was delicious and refreshing on this 76degree December evening and the rooftop view was great. We had an incredible dinner here and will be back. The fish was so fresh, and the service was incredible (Hannah our bartender was so attentive and made the best martini). I am late leaving a review but better late than never...... This place was amazing!! The ambience was relaxing and inviting! Our waitress, Re, was so sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable on the menu, she recommended the most delicious things! The drinks recommended were to die for (I had a few so I should know), and we had the Nikuya Cut ( which I will come back for again and again!) Food was okay, but not outstanding and we were rushed, rushed, rushed. We were there for about one hour. It was almost empty when we left around 7:30 on a Friday night. Would probably only come back for drinks and the view when the weather gets nicer. Will stick to Hatsuyuki and Yoichi for fabulous sushi and excellent, unrushed service. read more

We dined in with a dairy allergy tonight, and it was so refreshing to be able to order nearly anything on the menu without having to dodge cream cheese or imitation crab. Hannah was our server and took incredible care of us. She was so knowledgeable about everything on the menu, and was spot on with every one of her suggestions. Our favorite drink was the Cowtown Oklahoma Fashioned, and our favorite Makimono rolls were the Cowboy Kiss (great if you love crunch and texture) and the Sweet Escape (not sweet, so balanced and unexpectedly delicious!). Great experience at Nikuya! We weren't sure what to expect as we took the elevator up to the Sinclair Hotel rooftop. The indoor seating is a cozy sushi bar; the outdoor seating is spacious with beautiful views of downtown. We opted for outdoors and enjoyed a gorgeous (albeit windy) sunset. We were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary amuse bouche and coupe of Champagne - a lovely welcoming touch. Outstanding friendly service from Caroline and Sky. Great drinks - we had a blackberry-tinged Sundance Sour mocktail and a smoky Mezcal-based highball called Smoke & Mirrors. But the food is the star of the show. The tuna tartare is phenomenal, featuring a creamy avocado base and bright pops of tobiko. We also raved about the edamame hummus, served with addictive airy-light rice crisps. Our favorite roll was the Sinclair (tuna/cucumber/jalapeno). We also enjoyed the Nikuya Cut (wagyu/avocado) and the impeccably fresh Hamachi nigiri. Next time we will use Sundance Square parking or hope for a street spot - the hotel valet gets pretty backed up. read more

A quick note on seating: the patio is lovely in theory, with the optional open windows and a breezy feel, but the chairs are not winning any comfort awards. Inside booths are the move. Also worth noting, this is Fort Worth, and once the thermometer hits triple digits, the patio conversation ends itself if the windows are open. Plan accordingly. Malai starts every table with steamed sticky rice and an eggplant dip, which is a charming little ritual and a genuinely good one. We also kicked things off with the Edamame, a heads up on the heat level there, and the Fried Imperial Rolls, filled with ground pork and shrimp and served with a sesame soy sauce. Fair warning: these do not photograph well and arrive at the table looking a little shy. Don't be fooled. They're flavorful, subtly spicy, and well worth ordering. For entrees, we tried the Basil Vegetable Fried Rice two ways, one vegan and one with chicken. It's creamy, subtly sweet, and a graceful finish to the meal. The service at Malai is enthusiastic, and I do mean enthusiastic. The staff works as a team, all smiles, attentive, always nearby. Occasionally a little too nearby. More than once a plate nearly disappeared before we were done with it. It's a small complaint, and honestly a far better problem than the alternative. They're warm, cheerful, and clearly enjoy what they do, which goes a long way. Portions are generous, so order a few dishes and share the wealth. For a lunch stop between shops, Malai Kitchen punches well above its weight.

When building your own burger, it's difficult to know all of the available topping choices. The only downside to our visit was that there was a very large dog dining inside the restaurant. The staff allowed the dog's water bowl to be placed on the table, and while the dog remained on a leash, several employees stopped to pet it before returning to refill drinks, deliver food, or check on guests. That wasn't something I was comfortable with and took away from an otherwise enjoyable dining experience.

Okay so we're back for our second visit here for my girlfriend birthday this time and just like the…read morefirst visit everything was excellent except this time all the menu items I wanted to order were available including the item that was not available on the first visit waygu pot stickers which were delicious! We ordered the shrimp shumai, hot oil wontons, and crispy shrimp balls for our appetizers as well which were all very good. For entrees we ordered General Tso's chicken and Mongolian beef but the Mongolian beef came out tasting unusually sweet so we informed the waitress and she replaced it with a different entree the longhorn beef and peppers which was really good, a few minutes later the manager came to the table and asked about the Mongolian beef and let us know that she had them remake it, she brought it back out to the table and this time it was done perfectly with a good amount of spice and no sweetness we were also able to keep all three entrees which was cool and she took the Mongolian beef off of our check which we very much appreciated. Overall Teddy Wong's is highly recommended by this yelper and I must try for anyone that loves great food and service! We'll definitely be back!

No biggie, the employee I spoke with was super friendly and walked me through some options after I explained my diet preferences. I ordered the veggie dumplings (steamed) and veggie Szechuan fried rice. The dumplings were out of this world - best I've had. It's hard to find good vegan dumplings, so I'm so excited to have discovered these! Definitely not your average veg dumpling, these are packed with flavor! The rice was also pretty solid, a bit oily for my liking but flavorful nonetheless.
