Two years is how long we waited to come back to Hatsuyuki only because we live out of state. When you have a meal experience that you've thought about reliving for two years, you know it's good. Tonight, back in Fort Worth, we were blessed with a meal as amazing as the first one two years ago. This has to be the best sushi and sashimi in the US. Thank you to all employees for your guidance and perfection!!!!
We are avid sushi eaters and love coming to this place its next level! No they don't take reservations and menu is updated daily, well worth the wait!! Presentations are exceptional, fish quality is top notch, and staff is wonderful. Definitely recommend omakase style you'd be surprised by the creativity these chefs bring.

I went here on a work dinner. It's the only way to do it because it's absolutely expensive but an experience different than any sushi place. The menu is on the wall. We went crazy the 3 of us. You get to watch your food being made right in front of you. It's an incredible experience. You order with a pencil and paper. You order more with a pencil and paper. Each piece felt unique. It felt personal. it's worth it.

Their crab is especially good, made with a blend of different types rather than just imitation crab. I highly recommend all of the hand rolls! I haven't tried enough of the specials yet to recommend any specific ones. If you want the first seating, arrive about 30 minutes before opening. Otherwise, it's absolutely worth waiting for a later seating!

If you are looking for authentic Japanese sushi (no cream cheese, no speciality rolls) look no further! This was our second time, and it was completely packed within 10 minutes of opening for lunch. The waiter mentioned that they also have an omakase which I plan to do next time, but unfortunately we didn't have the time. First time I came I only ordered the hand roll combos which were ok, but the nigiri and the sashimi is where this places really shines!! We loved every piece of sashimi and nigiri we ordered. Unfortunately this place is pretty expensive, so even after a pricey meal, we still left hungry! Be prepared to spend if you eat lot but it will be worth it because it is so delicious!

Wow!!! I was impressed with this spot. I usually don't have sushi unless I'm by the water but I had a craving so I found this place. I am a complete sucker for a handroll so as soon as I decided I was on my way. There's parking and it's validated as soon as you go inside. They don't do reservations it is walk in only but I went on a Wednesday night and was able to get a seat immediately. I loved the set up it is a big bar with all the sushi chefs right in the middle. I love that you can see exactly what they are doing. They have a couple of combos on the menu but I loved the daily specials. You can select what you want and they chefs make it super fresh. Fantastic experience. Pretty sure this will be my go to sushi place in the area!
I couldn't wait to visit this sushi restaurant; the reviews and reputation were more than tempting. I was in the area for a Yelp event, and this was located about ten minutes from where I was. I placed a to-go order, and I learned that was not the best idea. I found they had a Wix web page and another; the other had a full menu to include the rolls pack. The other website doesn't help either. So I took a chance and ordered four rolls. Crab - Was good, and was fresh. Salmon - Was fresh, but not my best choice. Spicy Salmon - I was not a fan. Shrimp - I enjoyed this, but the texture was different for me. Before getting the roll, which was my third option, I asked for two things they did not have, which were on the menu. I arrived an hour after they opened, and they were already out of that item? Their menu, which can only be viewed in the restaurant, varies depending on the dining experience (lunch/dinner). I assume. When I arrived home, I noticed they did not include wasabi. What? Sushi/sashimi aren't the same without wasabi and the additional condiments. This definitely was not a pleasing visit, but I am willing to give them another try. I will only dine in, I feel that's when you'll get the full effect of what this restaurant truly has to offer. The gentleman who took my order was really sweet and was patient when I couldn't figure out what I wanted, due to them being out of what was on my list. The inside was very nice, I like the ability to watch as the rolls are being made. I look forward to watching that and to having a better experience.
I cannot say enough... although there was a line at the door at opening, the matre'd was very accommodating. We had to wait for my husband to park the car before they would seat us, but we made it! The menu is a bit overwhelming, but the chef and staff were very helpful, and the bill was itemized with the name of the fish, so we learned a little. It was a bit noisy, but the sushi was amazing!!!!
Came back again after all these years. Still the best sushi I've ever had. I don't know what these people are doing but it seems like they're just crushing the game. Simple food, excellent (and speedy) service, with amazing quality all-around. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Our first time here, and one of the reasons we came was to follow our favorite Chef Jackie! The sushi, sashimi, and hand rolls were awesome. Everything was incredibly fresh and professionally prepared by real sushi chefs. You can definitely taste the quality and craftsmanship in every bite. The place is cozy and has a classic sushi-bar style atmosphere. Seating is limited, so be prepared--and definitely don't let your stomach stay empty! The service was excellent. The staff took great care of us throughout our visit. We had a wonderful experience and can't wait to come back! read more
Alright folks this place is usually packed with a line out the door on the weekends, so we finally got to try it after work yesterday. We still waited over an hour to get our seats. One of the elderly workers did get us drinks while waiting. They have a huge list of specials and fly in fresh seafood daily. I must admit the wait was worth it. Started off with some miso soup, Sapporo beer and some regular hand rolls while checking the special menu. Most ppl would go up to the front and take a pic of it. Try everything, all the seafood is fresh and delicious, the flavors, presentation, everything was amazing. The staff there are all friendly and answer any questions you have about the menu. Shout out to Alex, very cool and helpful guy, plus he always caught any order I put in immediately. The wait is worth it but, great date night spot. read more

I cannot say enough... although there was a line at the door at opening, the matre'd was very accommodating. We had to wait for my husband to park the car before they would seat us, but we made it! The menu is a bit overwhelming, but the chef and staff were very helpful, and the bill was itemized with the name of the fish, so we learned a little. I love when the hype is actually real. What a refreshing sushi experience! It's a very intimate space so we were on the waitlist for more than an hour but I promise the wait is worth it!! The salmon belly here is unreal. I'd recommend asking the chef for their daily specials- the handrolls were so good! All of the nigiri was super fresh and as someone who doesn't typically enjoy uni, I liked it here. I can't wait to visit the Frisco location! read more

We were one of the first to get there, about 20 minutes before the restaurant opened, and were so close to getting seated, but we missed it by one spot. We ended up waiting about an hour and a half, even though we noticed other people arriving after us and getting seated right away while we were still waiting. That felt pretty uncalled for, especially since other guests who arrived after us were seated first, and a few other couples agreed. That being said, the sushi was delicious, and the service was very attentive and friendly. I just wish the seating process had been handled better. read more

This was sooo yummy! Highly recommend this spot but it does get very packed and they don't accept reservations so I recommend coming a bit before they open to queue up. They have a large menu that changes everyday so you can always try something new. I prefer their specialty pieces over the handrolls but both were great! The service is great and it's a pretty spacious handroll bar. I would def come again next time I'm in town. read more

We had a 2.5 hour wait for two on a Saturday at 6:00pm. This didn't both us as we were first timers and really wanted to try it -- so we put our name down and checked out the local thrift shops and bars next door. We ended up getting a text that our seats were ready at the 2 hour mark. It was safe to say that our experience was absolutely perfect!! Every hand roll we tried was even better than the last. You can taste the high quality ingredients that is carefully curated into every bite you take. This is hands down one of the best sushi I've ever had. Highly recommend asking your waiters and chefs what their favorites are and don't think twice, just get it! We've already made plans to come back! read more

The three dishes I took photos of are definitely a highlight and they are absolutely fantastic. I would say this place is one of the best sushi restaurants I have been to hands down. One of my favorite sushi spot for lunch! You never can know go wrong with anything on the menu, whether you are going for nigiri, sashimi or handroll. The high quality ingredients at a decently affordable price cannot be beat anywhere in Fort Worth. My favorite sushi spot in Fort Worth. Amazing! note that theres a line before they open (at 5). We were 15th in line and had arrived there around 445. when you are seated, theres a tiny menu placed at each station that has al le carte and combo selections. I opted for the 4 combo handroll and had ordered al le carte items like the Toro handroll, eel handroll, mizayaki beef, uni with toro and salmon truffle. Overall, all of the items were amazing. Seaweed was crispy and crunchy and each handroll had a good amount of "fillings". The salmon truffle is slices of salmon sashimi with truffle sauce and came with 5 pieces. I said I'd like sushi and the concierge recommended Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar but no reservations. I waited 1.5 hours (it was 100 degrees out) but well worth the wait. I eat sushi ...A LOT... i highly recommend this place. Tony, the host, says they are top 5 Texas and top 10 in the US. I would agree. The handrolls are what attracts people but try the specials! Decided to finally try Hatsuyuki in Fort Worth, celebrating our 20th Anniversary. We waited 2 hours but it was worth it, best sushi we've ever had! The chefs are skilled and very polite. read more
Tad pricey but worth it for the experience. Everything is super tasty and fresh, chefs are top tier. Definitely get here right at 4:50 before the open to avoid any lengthy wait. I enjoyed everything I got, and was executed really well. read more

Absolutely no wrong choice on this menu. I ordered the 3 roll set, uni+1, and sea bream. My friend offered me their unister. Of the set, my favorite was the crab. I personally judge my hand roll places based on the quality of their crab roll, and this one was by far the best. Sweet, flavorful, and meaty. Each roll is a generous size as well. Of the specials, I liked the unister the most. It's a really big mouthful to get in, but all the flavors combine really make it a journey in your mouth.. sweet, savory,fishy,tangy. The quality of each fish was extremely evident. Sushi chefs were so efficient at making each roll and piece. I loved how the bar seating allowed you to watch everything that they were doing. read more
If you ask anyone living in Fort Worth what is the best sushi place in the area? They will tell you Hatsuyuki. I mean... it's good but it's kinda the same as other handroll places you find on the Dallas side of town. However I will agree that it's probably the best sushi you can get in the Fort Worth area. When I dined there I told them I wanted the omakase with no limit. Limit being the amount of money I was going to spend. What does this mean? It meant that my omakase became an a la carte experience. I just ended up telling the chef what pieces I wanted and he made it. Like previously stated, the sushi is good. I'm not going to complain about the taste. I do like how they have what ingredient is available on a hand written board. One suggestion I do have for Hatsuyuki is they should do a reservation system. If you don't show up right when they open, you will be waiting in a LONG line. read more

This is a hidden gem. I didn't know about it until my sushi afficianado friend told me to drop everything, after hearing I didn't know what it was. If you are a sushi nut, and more particularly a handroll kinda person... go no further. You've found your spot. Is it pricey? Sure. Is it worth it? Absolutely. You pay for what you get, and it's pure excellence. It isn't a huge place, but it is perfect for what it is. It's a horseshoe bar type seating around some amazingly talented sushi chefs preparing your food in front of you. Everything I ate was so incredibly fresh and delicious. Save up a couple extra bucks and go immediately. read more
Amazing hand roll bar in fort worth. They don't take reservations so be sure to get there when they open and if not, be prepared to wait 1-2 hours depending on when you walk in. It's an intimate restaurant where all the seatings are at the bar in front of the chef. There's a chalkboard menu that changes on the daily, and you write down what you want to order, along with any hand roll sets/appetizers/drinks on the paper. All the sushi, hand rolls, and the sashimi I had was so good. The rice was also cooked and seasoned perfectly, and while the pieces are considered 'affordable' for an a la carte style, the quality is superior. Would definitely come back again! read more
There is no reservations and I came in on a Thursday at 7pm and waited about 30 mins. They have free parking as long as you validate it inside. The scallops handroll was so good... But my favorite was the seared salmon belly! It was so fatty and good. I ended up coming back Sunday night and waited around the same amount of time with 2 people. Def would recommend for anyone visiting FT worth! read more
This place was great! There is parking if you get there early enough but you have to wait until you get inside the restaurant to scan the QR code for free parking. I got there pretty early but noticed as we got closer to opening time and there was already a line forming at the door. But onwards to the food and service, it was friendly service where they took our orders but also left us alone enough to talk with our parties. I will say with the way seating is set up, i can imagine it being pretty tough to talk if you have more than 2-3 people. The food was really delicious & I highly suggest taking a look at their specials because that's where they shine. Not a bad bite in the bunch! read more
I can see why this place has 5 star review from so many people. Hands down one of the best sushi I've had in DFW metroplex. Actually THE best and the 2nd place doesn't come close. The variety of sushi's they serve is just chef's kiss. We opted for the hand rolls FIRST then added the sushi~ so we ended up ordering too many hand rolls so I was extremely full but every bite was so worth it. Our party thoroughly enjoyed all the hand rolls and nigiri sushi that we had at this establishment. At the time we dined here, there were pre-fixed options of 3, 4, and 5 handrolls. Our party opted for the 4-handroll options each which included a salmon, yellowtail, bay scallop, and a crab handroll for $17.50 that are mainstays that should be tried. This was just $3 more than the 3-handroll option which did not include the yellowtail handroll. The 5-handroll option was a steeper increase to $24.00ish for an additional lobster handroll, which is a slight discount to the price if you were to order the lobster handroll a-la-carte. I'd advise the 4-handroll option and ordering something off the daily special menu if you're hungry hungry like I am all day everyday. If available the spicy tuna handroll (w/ shrimp katsu, fried onion, and Korean seaweed), salmon belly, and the eel nigiri are excellent. All the sushi here was excellent. Flavors were all very clean and not overly muddled in any way. You taste what you're ordering. I was pleasantly surprised with the real grated wasabi they added to the eel nigiri. Service here was quick and friendly once seated. Sushi chefs kept a very reasonable pace with their preparation and service to what was ordered. This is definitely a spot to enjoy some excellent food. One additional note with PARKING. At the time I dined in March 2025, don't be too quick jumping the gun to pay for parking by scanning the QR codes in the lot. Go straight to the restaurant after securing your parking spot where there's a QR code near the entrance inside that you can scan for validated parking. read more

Hatsuyuki Sushi is hands down the best sushi spot in Cowtown. We absolutely love this place. The entire setup is a vibe -- an intimate, high-top bar seating arrangement (around 45 seats) that gives you front-row views of the chefs as they work. Watching each dish come together makes the experience feel special before you even take a bite. The chefs are true artists, thoughtfully and skillfully preparing every piece with care and precision. Each bite feels intentional and beautifully executed. Parking can be a little tight, so plan ahead or use a nearby parking garage. There's usually a wait, but it's 100% worth it. If you're a sushi lover, this place is a must. read more

Is uni not a staple on their menu? Looking at the pictures and not seeing uni in any of the menu pictures.
Uni is not on their regular menu, but was on the "special" both times that I was there. I believe they have it most of the time, but I would ask the restaurant to be sure.
Do I have to call ahead for to-go or can order on spot and wait? Just asking because Sushi places are normally small, I don't want to get into people's way enjoying their meals.

The two times I have been there a number of the daily specials have been things that you could get as nigiri and/or sashimi.
