We have been wanting to try Krab kingz for a long time. Stop by for a late lunch on a Saturday and happily they weren't super busy. It doesn't seem like much sitting in the strip center, but we walked inside. They've got two good size dining areas and plenty of room. Also we enjoyed that they had the football games on TVs in both rooms. The menu appears to be updated almost daily on a chalkboard. It took a minute to look over everything and make a choice. We opted for the fried oysters as an appetizer then I ordered the fish and shrimp plate and my wife ordered the # 7, which today was one cluster snow, crabs, and shrimp. They brought our food out in to go boxes, which is I guess what everybody eats out of. We were both blown away when we opened them up and saw how much food they give you. The portions are huge. My fish and fried shrimp was pretty good. The fish could use a little bit more seasoning, but it was cooked very well and tasted good. The shrimp was really good and once again I was surprised at how big they were. There was a ton of fries and only ate about half of them, but they were good as well. I was very impressed with the fried oysters. They were big oysters and tasted great. My wife loved her snow crab. It comes with tons of potatoes, corn on the cob and several shrimp and we were stuffed by the time we left. We will definitely come back and try something different on the menu next time read more

This is a no nonsense seafood boil place. You're not coming for ambiance and table service. you order at the counter and there are video poker games in the back. But that's not why we were here, we came for crawfish! Everything was done a la carte. The crawfish was $7.99lb and you had to order corn and potatoes and sausage if you wanted them. All separate. It was a bit different, and add it all up, the price point is about the same as Flying Fish. They bring everything out in separate to go containers which creates a lot of trash, but little cleanup. Environment be damned. However, the food was good. The crawfish were a bit small but this was the first week in March, a bit early. Their seasoning was on point. I ordered the spicy. I hate to do this because the food here is really tremendous, but I'm *never* going back after the bulls*** I just had to deal with from the crappiest manager ever. We came for my birthday (my choice), because I love the seafood pasta here. Something was wrong with their point of sale system and the checkout person said they were only taking cash. I had $75, not enough. Was about to leave and they told us there's an ATM at the bar two doors down. I went there, tried it twice and it wouldn't take my Bank of America Debit card (??). Walked back thinking again we'd go somewhere else. But, the girl helping us says she'd put the order in and we could use card at the end of the meal when they got the POS running. Easy-peasy. We sat down, enjoyed birthday dinner, came back to pay and it still didn't work. So I sent gf down the ATM to try her Wells Fargo card at which time immature manager felt it was necessary to tell me there was "always an issue when you guys come in." I was like, What issue...?" When I pressed her to be specific she wouldn't. How was their POS failure my fault? Her employee told us we could eat and it'd be fixed. We were actively solving the problem, but she kept going with how she "told me they were cash only". But, they took our order and server sat us? Apparently I was supposed to know the girl was trainee and that what manager said was law. I mean we sat for an hour and she didn't say anything. Our previous visit we brought my 85 year old father and his wife and sat on the patio. There was a five-blade ceiling fan with only four blades (!!) on a six foot down rod wobbling and squeaking loudly above us and we asked if they could turn it off. It became an ordeal cuz they couldn't figure out how to. A very nice server stood on a chair on a table (I spotted him) to pull the chain. Then this same manager walked up to our table with a remote and turned the TV on above our heads so loud my dad could not hear me with his hearing aids. So, I asked her to turn it off and she said "it had to be on if someone requested it." We were the only ones out there! My partner chased her down and talked her into turning it off. So that's where we got our "rep" I guess. I'm not a difficult customer. Unless the manager is rude. This woman has a chip on her shoulder and I'm not walking on egg shells around it. This is probably the only crab spot that I've been to in this country where I've felt like Ive gotten my fill. I orders the crab and shrimp platter. It came with 2 clusters, 13 shrimp, sausage, corn and a bunch of potatoes. Most of this is à la carte in any spot back home in Chicago. The spice level for the Cajun butter was great, not too spicy at all but enough to feel the heat. My reasons for three stars is not due to food but service. We called the order in for pick up and we're told 25 min. We showed up at 25 min and sat for an ADDITIONAL 46 min! Not sure why it took over and hour to make the meal. During our visit to Texas I heard a lot of buzz about this black-owned business and baby I tell you they did magnificent. Let me start off by telling you I honestly not a fan of the shelled seafood because most place don't have seasoning and you have to dip it in butter. But this place proved me wrong it was very well-seasoned and that they made me a fan. Even though we were not able to dine inside they were super welcoming - since we were kind of in a time crunch we called it in and of course our order was big but it also gave us time to drive there. we did not want to miss the shut off window If they had one. We paid then they told us it was a little bit more weight but we were happy to wait cuz that just means it's called to order and not just sitting under an hot lamp - once the food was prepared they delivered it straight to our vehicle. I returned here back in April and had the same experience as last time. I ordered the small shrimp platter to go and it took them less than ten minutes to complete my order. Prices have gone up which I expected, so I recommend looking on Groupon for discounts like I did. The small shrimp platter can easily be two meals depending how hungry you are. Came here for dinner for two and they do currently have dine-in. They seemed to not be that busy, because they only had 4-5 other tables seated around where we sat. However, this was not the case at all. If we had known ahead of time how long the wait would have been, we would probably not have sat down. They did not inform us that there was a delay. Once we sat down, we noticed around us that everyone else was waiting for their food and also appeared to be frustrated. We waited for 45+ minutes for our food to come out. We had even ordered appetizers, but those came out at the same time as the rest of our food. We did notice that they were going in order of those waiting, so it was fair in that aspect. I'm not sure if they are short on staff or what the reasoning was, but I do believe that they shouldn't leave their customers waiting that long for their meals. They did apologize for the wait, but it is hard to give them a good review for that long of a wait. The food came out kinda cool and not as hot as we would have imagined, especially if the wait was due to them cooking/boiling as the orders are taken. The crab legs were small and the seasoning was sparse. They did give us more clusters than was stated in the combo we ordered, but that may be due to the sizing of the crab legs. I was very disappointed to see a credit card surcharge on my bill when I used a debit card. There was no sign saying that i would be charged and I was not informed of this random charge. The tip amount I put was on top of that charge as well- which is very frustrating when you're being nice placing a to go order and giving the person a tip but then you're charged extra because of the charge ! The food was delicious as always but I would not order the lobster again, it was very chewy and actually over cooked. You can tell it was probably frozen for a while and might've even had some freezer burn.
