Catfish (lunch portion)

Visited Texas Oyster Pit in Fort Worth for their lunch special on Good Friday. I went with the catfish plate, which came with two pieces of fried catfish, crispy on the outside, hot and juicy on the inside. I opted for fries as my side, and they were a great match. We also shared their shrimp cocktail, which had a generous amount of small shrimp swimming in a sweet and tangy cocktail sauce. The cocktail sauce was great for dipping between bites of fried food. The place has a laid back, casual vibe perfect for a quick seafood fix without the fuss.

This place was good. It had a dive bar type vibe, our server was nice. She brought our drinks out fast and the food came pretty quickly too. I had a coconut habanero margarita to drink it was delicious. We split oyster rocker-feller to start which were great and hubby had a cup of clam chowder which was just ok. Then he had scallops with rice the scallops were cooked perfectly. I had the grilled catfish poboy with fires it was so good. I would definitely come back and try something else

Margarita and Michelob Ultra

I was craving oysters and where else to go but Texas Pit Oyster Bar! First timer and not disappointed. We both started with the Gumbo, OMG, the roux was to die for! Highly recommend. I also had a single Raw jumbo gulf oyster and then the fried oyster platter. Both were so delicious. (I wonder if they would consider frying the jumbo oysters?) and washed it down with a huge Michelob Ultra. The perfect after church lunch. Us Southern Baptist worship hard! My wife had the jumbo fried shrimp plate, the shrimp were fried perfectly but the cornbread batter seemed to not stick properly, need to egg wash first?, but was delicious no matter and to top it off she had a large frozen margarita. I tasted it and was glad I was driving and not her! The place itself was Louisiana dive bar vibe, very laid back with plenty of TVs to watch your fave sports team. And the star of the show were the wait staff, friendly and the perfect amount of attentiveness. Two thumbs up. Definitely coming back!!

Perfect and fresh food cooked with great subtle spicing. Southern kick to everything and deep south feeling. Staff loves their food, and my guest agreed 100 percent. Pricing perfect. Thinking about going to joes crabshack or an upper scale seafood restaurant? Don't. Dress casual and enjoy phenomenal food in a cozy relaxing environment.

Ms. Molly took excellent care of me for my 60th birthday dinner. She was very friendly and attentive.

Haven't been here in a while, but since I was driving by, I decided to stop in for dinner. My server, Ashleigh, was totally awesome, attentive, friendly, professional, and her service made the dinner even more enjoyable. The food was spot on as always. I enjoyed the peel n eat jumbo shrimp, the seafood gumbo, and my twisted tea. I highly recommend this place if you work or live near by, or you're just passing through.

Catfish and shrimp platter with grilled veggies

The food presents well; however this food lacks seasoning like really it's missing! Confused though cause the catfish breading is speckled as though it's seasoned; but nahhh it's just crunchy. Shrimp is the same way! I had grilled veggies and well tasteless too! Not sure if they are rationing season but this ain't it for fish and shrimp. Okay if you are on a low / no sodium diet, then this is the place for you.

Best ambience for oyster bar & great service. Not to mention the freshness of the oysters. I love to have them with the catfish fillet & beers. Come and check it out yourself.

The restaurant allowed a dog to sit in a chair and eat from the table. We won't be going back. Nasty!

Was very efficient server and personable. He seemed like a genuinely nice young man. Everyone enjoyed the steaks they ordered too. My filet was cooked perfectly. Then Pierce suggested the pumpkin cheesecake and margarita pie and we enjoyed those. I would definitely order them again. The pumpkin cheese cake is not overly strong just the right balance of pumpkin. We will not wait a couple of years before going again! Also the place was packed early on a Saturday so make a reservation.

(It's Texas...full glass of ice for tea). Drinks arrived barely any ice and no lemons...delivered by our waitress who wasn't the lady who took our drink order. We also ordered our appetizers with our drink order. Fried mushrooms and mozzarella bites. When our drinks arrived we placed an order for Prime Rib, 16 0z prepared medium. 1 with a baked potato and extra sour cream and green beans the other with Asparagus. Our salads arrived first. We had to ask our waitress about the appetizers. They came out right after the salads. Appetizers were delicious! As was the salads. Our steaks arrived cooked to perfection...lacked flavor and the au jus was "watery". My sister's asparagus was over cooked. I mean served wilted and mushy. My green beans were ok and I enjoyed the baked potato. Ugggh off night. ...specifically the carrot cake. Their carrot cake is to die for...$9.99 and worth it...accept for today when they brought me out a half slice....

But I was hungry for some seafood and thought I would give them another shot.I went in and was seated as I looked at the menu and looked at their prices I had sticker shock.I know it's seafood but damn!So I ended up going with the shrimp sample.Which consisted of bacon wrapped shrimp filled with seafood stuffing and cheese along with jalapeno.Second one was shrimp scampi.last was grilled shrimp topped with lemon butter.Along with green beans and jasmine rice.I hate to say it but I was really disappointed. The shrimp really lacked flavor. And I didn't really taste any jalapeno on the bacon wrapped shrimp. The shrimp scampi was ok but doesn't have the flavor that red lobsters do.And the one with lemon butter was just there.I thought the green beans were pretty good and actually some seasoning on it.Now the rice just ok.It also lacked flavor.I spent a total of 30 bucks including tip that I didn't think was worth.I guess there was a reason I really never cared for joes. This will probably be the last time I eat here.

Prepared with the right flavors and consistent in how it's prepared. Tender and delicious. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the salad dressing on the Bento Box dogs out the salad. What I tried new today was the Strawberry Boba. It's really good. I love the logo bottle they prepared it in. Feels fancy! Taste delicious The Bento box already comes with a canned soda but I had to try the boba tea. Chefs kiss. The service is always pleasant. I've been helped by a young girl a time or two but a woman that usually works the register is super nice. She doesn't mind talking time to explain the menu, and customize your order for the flavored and food that you are familiar with. She is patient and kind. I enjoy seeing her when I walk in. I recommend eating here. I have peeped in the kitchen behind the curtains and the kitchen appears clean, the cook I saw wash his hands several times and the ingredients he uses always look fresh. An add to my go to favorite spots for sure!
