Wow I was blown away by service and food tonight! We have not eaten here in a few years but celebrated a birthday here tonight. Pierce took great care of us. Was very efficient server and personable. He seemed like a genuinely nice young man. Everyone enjoyed the steaks they ordered too. My filet was cooked perfectly. Then Pierce suggested the pumpkin cheesecake and margarita pie and we enjoyed those. I would definitely order them again. The pumpkin cheese cake is not overly strong just the right balance of pumpkin. We will not wait a couple of years before going again! Service started out a little rough....a lady showed up quickly to get our drink order. 2 ice teas. One unsweetened and the other half/half both with lemon and extra ice. (It's Texas...full glass of ice for tea). Drinks arrived barely any ice and no lemons...delivered by our waitress who wasn't the lady who took our drink order. We also ordered our appetizers with our drink order. Fried mushrooms and mozzarella bites. When our drinks arrived we placed an order for Prime Rib, 16 0z prepared medium. 1 with a baked potato and extra sour cream and green beans the other with Asparagus. Our salads arrived first. We had to ask our waitress about the appetizers. They came out right after the salads. Appetizers were delicious! As was the salads. Been coming to this location since 2008 (whenever I am in town on business or visiting friends), never a subpar experience. Nate and Gina run a tight ship together, tonight was no exception. My "regular" longtime server Jay had a lot on his plate tonight (pun intended), so I got to experience another stellar employee, Jacob. We always have a good time at Saltgrass. My husband and I have come to love this location. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food comes out hot and timely. The atmosphere is both causal but romantic so we enjoy date nights here. For food we love starting off with the fried peppers and pickles, the range rattlers (jumbo jalapenos stuffed with a whole shrimp and jack cheese, and even the queso fresco. You honestly can't go wrong with any of the appetizers. My favorite thing to get is the house salad with honey mustard dressing, and sometimes I'll get the Homemade soup of the day and Salad as my entree because you can't go wrong! When I'm feeling for a steak I love getting the Pat's ribeye. It's the family favorite and the best part is that this location always cooks it to perfection. Medium is medium and we've never had any issues with the cook. If you haven't already, make room for dessert or even take it to go! The carrot cake is SO GOOD! First time we went, they undercooked a steak twice in a row. The manager and waitress were great about fixing it. The second time, they overcooked a steak and then took over 20 minutes to remake it. We all finished eating and boxing up leftovers before the new steak came out. Then we had 2 separate checks and cards and they somehow swapped which card paid for which order. I will never be going back. I dont know how you call yourself a steak house and mess it up 3 times. Just stick to Texas Roadhouse or even Chili's. They might not have the same cut if steak but atleast they can cook it right. read more

The cook of medium was nonexistent with such a thin steak. The price was over $30 and I was totally disappointed. The server was not responsive and another person came around and we ordered wine. We were returning home from a trip to Houston to console and be with family during an expected death of our nephew such a tragedy for us all. Tired and road weary we decided to stop and have dinner here, my Yelp friend Hannah had mentioned their happy hour deals the other day and my wife is a light eater so we ordered the beef tenderloins, sweet potato fries, salad and Pats Ribeye and finished it off with a huge piece of cheesecake we had Rosa Paloma and Old Fashion to wash it down. Our server was so nice and sweet and the Manager Megan stopped by and checked on us and we explained a little bit of our day. She really was empathetic to us and made us feel comfortable during our meal. She waived the charge on the cheesecake which was a very kind thing to do. I don't drink much anymore, but it was a rough day. The happy hour snacks though is where it's at. Shrimp cocktail was fresh and the shrimp were huge. I came here for dinner since it's near my hotel and I wanted steak. I like the decor...definitely fits the look of a Dallas steak house. Ample seating. Took a look at the menu and ordered the red fish instead since I don't think I've ever tried it. My server Shane quickly took my order which was good since I was hungry. He came out with some fresh beer bread and it was soft and tasty. Also got the chicken tortilla soup which was very hearty with lots of veggies and chicken, it also had a little spice to it which was great! The redfish was very tasty and it had a few pieces of shrimp and crabmeat as well. I got the sweet potato fries as well which was good but needed a little more sale in my opinion. He was very friendly and attentive, and we enjoyed him very much. I had the Pineapple Margarita, so delicious! The table shared the fried mushrooms, which we had four years ago -- still yummy. For my main entree, I had the Shrimp Duo, and I also had the Mac N Cheese as well as the Ceasar Salad. The table shared the chocolate cake for dessert. We had an appetizer, onion straws, and they were good and I would give them about a four 4 . They were nicely cooked, tasted fresh, and crisp. I wasn't over the top about them, but they were good. My husband ordered the Porterhouse Steak with a salad and brussels sprouts. He said he would give it a five 5 . The steak was perfectly cooked and his brussels sprouts were incredible, I would have to agree. I'm not a brussels sprouts lover, but I sampled a couple of his and they were absolutely delectable. The next time I go, I think that's what I'll order. I got the filet mignon and would give it about a four 4, not because it wasn't cooked well, but I didn't just love the flavor of it. I did get the green beans and in all fairness, I'm not a green bean lover, so that probably wasn't a good choice for me, but with them being only 90 cal, I decided I would do that. However, I did embark on their potato soup today and it was very good! Ron even brought me a sample of it, on his own, since I was not 100% sure if I wanted it or not. After the sample came, I clearly decided and chose it. Overall, we would give our experience about a 4 1/2. The few TVs in the restaurant showed basketball and World Series game 1. Our waitress took care of all of our needs. We were there with a big party of 10 people. We ordered the queso with brisket and onions and the fried pickles appetizers. They were both very good. The fried pickle batter was so light, it was so good. For our order we both got the 12 oz ribeye steak prepared medium rare. I got mine with tortilla soup and sweet potato fries and my mother got it with salad and sweet potato fries. The steaks were more medium, and not the medium rare we ordered. We did not send them back and although they weren't as rare as we like, the quality of the steak was good and flavorful. It was seasoned well and melted in our mouths. Though there were a lot of people and high ceilings, it didn't seem overly loud.
