Met up with friends for dinner since this is one of their favorite spots, and I was impressed! The service was great. It was a little slow, but it seemed like a busy night, so it was understandable. We ordered the combo bag, which was reasonably priced and tasted delicious. Everything was flavorful, and I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in the area. A couple of things to note: the music is on the louder side, and the parking lot is shared with other businesses. That said, there was still plenty of parking available. First time here. Seated fairly quick. Waiter didn't explain anything so we asked a ton of questions. He seemed a little put out. Waiter left & came back finally to ask me if I would like my clam chowder before the meal & I said yes. Another person delivered the bowl to the table with no spoon or crackers. Husband ordered the fried fish basket & it came with fries. He enjoyed it & was pleased. Mother inlaw order the fried shrimp basket with fries. It was a lot of food & she ended up taking most of it home. I additionally ordered the lobster roll that came with fries. The fries were abundant, but the roll was pretty small with mainly over cooked claw meat. It was not a stellar lobster roll. The clam chowder was very crowded with under cooked celery & very little clam meat. For the price of the meal there are better restaurants options I would choose over coming back. As far as the atmosphere goes, we were seated directly under the restaurant speaker. First round of songs were the Red Hot Chili Peppers only to be followed by a very explicit rap song that made me embarrassed for my 88 year old mother inlaw to hear. On top of that several families were in with multiple free range screaming children. They made no attempt to corral them or teach them proper manners of not screaming at the top of their lungs. Came here again because I had such a great first experience, but tonight was rather lacking and disappointing. I know it's busier and Friday night but geez, the table we sat at or the chairs we sat on were dirty like covered in some kind of sauce. It got on my jacket and my girlfriend's clothes, no sincere apology they just switched a chair but didn't look like they cleaned it. Had to wait until the end of dinner for part of our order even if we politely asked 3 different workers if we're going to get the rest of our food. This is after 3 other tables got all of their food before we did and were seated after us. Guess if we ever come back here we need to be early or just lunch time. Also, don't get the hibachi beef, it's mostly stir fried vegetables on top of rice with some tossed salad on half the plate. Doesn't taste that good either, but the fried calamari was delicious and served with fries. The gumbo soup was ok but I think I'll just stick with the seafood boil or fried appetizers. Met some long time friends we haven't seen years at Pier 18 for lunch , flew in from California here for few days WOW what a dining experience. Extensive Cajun menu. Friendly helpful staff, roomy sea worthy dining I ordered the recommended scrimp combo in mild sauce potatoes sausage it all comes together in a plastic bag. Your provided a 12" metal pan, gloves a bib and lot of napkins that you'll need. You dump everything from your bag into your pan and go to work. The sauce is special, full of flavors spices and some heat it's really outstanding. I had sweet tea for the first time it was addicting. Pier 18 staff was very accommodating we were there 4 hours lots of laughs The girls ordered scrimp, chicken and vegetable bowls that were very generous they couldn't finish. I love coming to Pier 18. I always get the combo 2, Cajun, little bit of spice. I have a high spice tolerance and this is spicy for me. I love you get crab and shrimp! The roux might be my favorite part. I either get a side or fries or garlic bread to dip in the extra roux. I always get it Togo so I can go home and get messy. read more

I met a friend here for a weekday lunch and was pleasantly surprised. They have a weekday lunch menu with decent prices. There is also a full bar. I opted for an oyster poboy with a side of fries and a martini (don't recall if was a lycee or lemon martini). Both were good! The oysters were a good size and fried perfectly. It was a good poboy. The fries were also prepared well. My martini was strong and well balanced. My friend got the shrimp and broccoli special and an espresso martini. Service was good and the restaurant was clean. It was pretty quiet for lunch time, but that may be because folks don't know they have a specially priced lunch menu. To me, their dinner prices are a bit high -- but everything is high these days. Been here three times and very satisfied every tine. The first time, i got the king crab with the atomic sauce medium spicy. It was good but i prefer the garlic sauce still medium spicy. The second and third time I got snow crab which is still good and better priced than the king crab. The garlic pasta is good. I've also had the garlic fries and Cajun fries, I like the Cajun fries which is more tasty. The service is good, the third time we went there was a little bit of a delay but the server made sure to inform us when the food would be ready. Don't know how they could have intentionally got it like that. Can of Progresso would be huge upgrade. The fish-forget thinking flaky..1/8" filet of something, heavily breaded, soaked in oil. $1 upgrade of salad over fries was huge chunks of yellow of iceberg. Fried shrimp was just unfrozen with a full slice of breading on each. The combo bags looked better, but mediocre, however, full priced, maybe more. Save your money. Truly LJS is an upgrade. The gimmicky robot is conversation starter, but was dirty and didn't contribute to efficiency in any manner. read more

It ran into one of the servers with a drink in her hand and spilled the drink then it ran into our server as well. The food tasted good. A lot of flavor. It was not lacking flavor. Food: I loved the seafood here. It was live and fresh, and cooked correctly. I had the clams, crawfish, and crab legs! All good! Depending on what kind of seasoning u get some are better than others, I really enjoyed the original Cajun in medium. The oysters were super fresh! I know they recently opened so this is why they're getting 4 stars and not 3. Hope they iron some things out. First, the wait times for the staff were longer than you would think is appropriate but I will chalk that up to it being new. I think the robot is obnoxious and does not add value at all. Most of the time it appears to waste the wait staff's time than actually being useful. Having someone walk slowly behind the robot to deliver one side of rice seems...ridiculous. Especially when paired with the fact that we already were waiting longer than normal for stuff. Second, the flavor was lacking on even the fries. A little salt would go a long way for the fries. The seafood combos were appropriately priced for the market and I felt like they actually weighed their seafood (getting just one cluster of crab per pound vs a cluster and some extra legs). However, their flavors fell really off the mark for me. Not enough garlic and umami flavor and just spicy. I will likely give them another shot in some time since they are super close to me but I won't be rushing back anytime soon. read more

Being that this establishment previously was a Mexican restaurant, the outside wasn't remodeled but the inside looks fantastic! You step inside and it feels as if you stepped on a cruise boat! She was enthusiastic with a big smile on her face. She was on point, had her notes and definitely double checked to make sure everything was going well at our table. The hubs and I LOVE a great crab boil and that is exactly what we received. We ordered combo 2 which consists of 1lb of snow crab, 1lb of head on shrimp, with potatoes, corn and sausage in the atomic sauce (Cajun, garlic, and lemon pepper) medium and my father in law got the same but in mild. Now, we asked the server how spicy medium was since every place is different and medium was actually a little too spicy for us. Next time, we will just stick with mild. If you are like us and prefer a little more liquid within your boil the owner recommended the Louisiana style next time. We liked what we ordered, but we like more sauce than chunks. We also tried out some other items on the menu such as their wings and fried rice. The wings were on point with great seasoning of lemon pepper and the fried rice was okay. Lots of chunks of onion which for my taste was a little too much. The coolest things I liked about this restaurant was the cat robot that brought out the food, the fire looking walls in between the seating, and the bar area with lively decor. We visited last night and it's really nice in the inside. When we arrived (maybe 7pm?), we were told it was a 40-minute wait and provided a buzzer. However, it was only about 10 minutes that we waited. I will give them a ton of credit, they turn tables immediately! As soon as someone is finished, they quickly clean and seat the next guest, which was great because they were busy. Our server was Trenton. He was really nice and attentive even though he had a lot of tables that he waited on. My only critique of the food is 1) our appetizers came out at the same time as our entrée 2) we ordered the combos and the sauce was super greasy.
