First time visit. Disappointing. Granted, it was a busy Friday night. Three of us. Took about 10 minutes for a server to come by our table. Once, we ordered, it took almost an entire hour to get our 3 sandwiched delivered. My sandwich and fries were COLD. Did not send back because I was afraid it would be another 30 minutes. Sandwich wasn't even close to description on the menu. Service was very slow. I might try again as it is a nice setting on the lake. Walked in and requested a burger and fries to go. It took 35 minutes to get my food! The hostess said the kitchen was backed up even though they had only been open for a few minutes and the restaurant was almost empty. I came in not expecting much but I loved it! The service, food, and food was all great. We sat down at the bar for a little lake-side lunch date and had the pleasure of being served by the lovely bartender (wish I could remember her name). I ordered a mule and grilled chicken sandwich (yum) and my partner had some beers and a fried fish plate. The portion sizes are huge which of course we loved and the menu pricing is totally reasonable too. If I find myself close by, I'll definitely be stopping be again! Well, our last visit might be our last visit. When you have to get your own drink from the bar because it's been sitting there getting warm while your server is on his phone, and when your food is finally served it's overly salty and room temperature, maybe it's time to go elsewhere. I know new owners took over within the last year, and we were hopeful the changes would be good. They've added trivia night and music bingo night (common schtick stuff to bring in business), there are a lot of new faces (staff and patrons), and prices have gone up while service and food quality are going down. Here's a business model idea: instead of packing the place with the karaoke night crowd, provide proper training for your staff to ensure stand-out food and service--that'll pack the place with regulars (like we used to be) who become the bread and butter of your establishment. read more

The service was awesome too, really friendly and on top of everything without feeling rushed. We tried the fried cheese and it might honestly be the best I have ever had. Visited with a group of 8 about 12:45 on a Saturday. The place was not very busy but the service was horrendously slow. Example: I ordered wings, 10 min later the waitress came to ask me if I wanted bone in or boneless. I expected my food in 10min. It took 25 min to get the first plate and 30min to get the last plate. I split 12 wings with a friend, got no extra plates. Had to ask and got 1 extra side salad plate. It's like they just don't care about service. Wings were very small, over cooked and dry. Fries not bad. Our friends had salads that looked good and I heard the burgers are good. So only 3 stars based on the wings (would have been a 2 if wings only) but the fries are good. We had a great experience at The Lakehouse. We started with the mozzarella sticks and they were seriously some of the best we have ever had. They were super crispy on the outside and perfectly gooey inside. For the main course, I had the buffalo chicken sandwich which was delicious and had just the right amount of kick. My partner ordered a shrimp taco and a chicken taco and both were fresh and flavorful. Our waitress Renee really made the visit special. She was super bubbly, had great food recommendations, and you could tell she was working hard to make sure everyone had a good time. The ambiance here is very chill and relaxed. If you sit outside, you get a nice view of the lake which makes the whole experience even better. We will definitely be back. We came in for an office birthday lunch. The birthday girl recommended it after coming with her family recently. Lunch crowd was not too busy on a Monday. The interior gets off divey vibes, and I can imagine it being a local hangout spot. Right by the boat docks, I'm sure it gets busy on the weekends. We started off with chips and queso which was pretty tasty. They were nice to refill our chips. I ordered the shroom swiss burger with sweet potato fries. It was good but not impressive. They are generous with their fries, both regular and sweet potato. The others got sandwiches and wings which came with a lot of fries as well. We ended with the Bubba brownie which was divine! Our family has been coming here for years, it used to be great. However, within the last several months the food quality and service have drastically gone downhill, and the prices have gone up. ive always loved the live music outside, but it's so loud you can even talk, the wait staff didn't even have the time to greet us, the outside fans weren't on or working, it was gloomy and tables were dirty and not cleared. It too 45 min to get out first drink, and had to find someone to actually take our order. Terrible service! Then, when we finally got our food, the burgers were cooked wrong, got the wrong fries, not sweet potatoes, the fish was so small, had to ask for lemons, and the "new" hush puppies were burnt and hard as a rock, couldn't even eat them, and the cheese sticks were cold and burnt These were always our favorites, and it was awful! The waitress didn't have time for us, we went to the bar to get more drinks, because she never checked on us. The service was just okay but you can't beat the prices. 1.99 for a beer is unheard of these days and a $7 old fashioned in DFW is basically extinct but you can find that here. I had the shrimp tacos and I found them to be superb (5/5). My wife had the fish sandwich and again, it was superb (5/5). We had a group of 10 and every single person seemed to enjoy their meal. Think burgers, tacos, wings, and some fried appetizers. During the week, they have happy hour from 2pm-7pm Tues-Thurs, all day Monday, and 11am-7pm on Friday. Their signature cocktails cost only $4.99! My favorite is the Lake Water Refresher. This was a fun night as I was meeting a friend from out of town and was excited from the get. We didn't know it was trivia night and that was a nice surprise. The MC was great. Our server was pretty meh. Nothing outrageously bad but she was quite slow to check in. Having said that, it wasn't near as bad as some reviewer's experiences. I ordered the fish and chips and they were quite yummy! They had crispy batter that wasn't too thick, it was cooked through just right so the fish wasn't dry and the fries were crispy outside and creamy inside. No complaints from me! We were there after dark and sat by the window. We couldn't see outside,which we knew and I'm not complaining. I would like to go back during the day to be able to look at the water. In our group of 5, 4 of us were first timers at The Lakehouse. Since it was nearly 100 degrees we opted to be seated inside. Just so you know if you'd like to make a reservation in advance it must be made at least 2 weeks in advance with a minimum of 10 people. I arrived early to get on the waitlist so our wait was about 25 minutes on a busy Saturday afternoon. We tried the nachos, fish and chips, fried shrimp and chips and one grilled shrimp and chips. Our server informed us that if we ordered the fish and chips fried cod was our only option, no grilling and for grilled shrimp was available. We enjoyed everything but with the fish and shrimp plates we all commented on our teeny tiny little coleslaw servings. So tiny. We all pretty much agreed it was delicious but you are literally served a "sample" in a condiment cup. It isn't listed on the menu but they have delicious strawberry lemonade. In cooler weather I would love to go back and enjoy the lake view. read more

There was a little bit of a wait for the patio, but that was to be expected in a Sunday afternoon, especially when it's one of the first weekends with great patio weather! We started off with 1/2 and 1/2 fried jalapeños and pickles- they arrived quickly and were piping hot, and the ranch is homemade I ordered the jalapeño burger with battered fries and my husband got the fish and chips.I don't know what kind of fun they use but holy $#!+, it's amazing! He loved his fish and chips/ onion rings... All of the food was so good, we were kicking ourselves for not checking this place out sooner. Last time I sat on the patio, we had a table of 4 and my food came out about 45 minutes after we ordered. After an hour and a half, I went to the shift manager to ask when the other 3 orders would come out and they didn't have any idea where the orders were or how they got lost The general manager (Johnny I think) doesn't care about customer service or satisfaction. This place is right on the lake, hence the name. It has boat docks for people to get out and have lunch, but we went in there for dinner and came by car. It has a dive bar type feel, and really reasonable prices for food and drinks. I had a cocktail which was delicious, and my hubby had a lonestar. I got the fish sandwich which was so good, had lots of flavor the side of fries was good too. My husband had the fish tacos which he enjoyed. We ate inside but after, when the sun had gone down, we went and found a seat on the patio. It was busy so we were sat by the stairs furthest from the stage. A live band was playing, nice vibes but it was actually hard to hear them as the sound wasn't very loud. Our server was good but it did take forever to get our food and then later with the drinks too. All staff is extremely professional and friendly to everyone, strangers and/or regulars. Heck even the regulars are friendly and the vibes here with staff and clientele are 100% positive. The Lakehouse is definitely the place to go for good and affordable food as well as good vibes. We went on a Friday evening, and despite sitting outside, we didn't melt thanks to the shade and the many circulating fans. Of course there is also plenty of indoor seating if that's what you prefer. This place always has something going on, whether it's live music on the weekends or trivia during the week, check their calendar and come enjoy some good food or their happy hour, which is offered Monday-Friday. Is Brunch more your thing? They offer that too! The Lakehouse has become a favorite place for a night out with the kiddos since they enjoy the water, but it's also good for a date night and drinks. like I said, it's just good vibes. The food was okay. Our server was friendly and helpful. The menu is lacking. The prices seemed to be in line with like fair. The Resturant did not feel as clean as I prefer. This is an old building. The restrooms need a carpenter and a strong cleaning lady. If you are at the lake all of this may not matter if you are hungry. While the location is not billed as a sports bar it has that appeal. There are lots of screens playing a variety of sporting events. The variety was a highlight of the visit. Women's sports are not frequently featured. The restaurant had college Womens field hockey and La Cross on with the rest of the live sporting events. If you are looking for sports, a burger and you have cutoffs and flip flops on this might be your place to eat. read more
