Was shocked at how much I loved this place. We've driven by here many times and just never stopped. We finally decided to try this to grab snacks for football and it did not let us down. We purchased a couple of items to see what hit. The service was quick. It took them 10-15 to make it fresh but they offered to bring our order out when it was ready, which was a great offer. The boudin pepper jack ball was delicious. Only complaint were the fries, that was our only letdown. They were soggy in oil. No crisp... maybe it was just a bad batch. The food was very well done, and blindfolded could have 100% been straight out of a GOOD New Orleans kitchen. I was passing by and saw a sign on the fence of a strip shopping center with the words "BOUDIN" so, being from Louisiana, I quickly braked and turned into the parking lot to investigate. Once I found the restaurant I parked in front and did a quick Yelp search. The reviews were mixed but fortunately I went inside to check it out for myself. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant is in the space of what was once the eclectic neighborhood diner Fork in the Road, but they've completely remodeled and updated the spot making it real trendy and well-lighted inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The lady at the front counter -- she's family of the owners -- was friendly and helpful in detailing the menu items. I decided on the Boudin Sampler (under Boudin Baskets) which included 1 Boudin Ball, 1 Mild Boudin Link, Fries and "Beaux Sauce" (for dipping). There's a small space for dining in but the restaurant appears setup mainly for to-go orders. When I arrived home with the order the fries were hot and crispy. And the boudin ball was a nice size and flavorful, as was the link. I'm also a bit of a snob when it comes to restaurants offering Louisiana food here in North Texas, but I honestly wish I had ordered more once I dug in because these guys got this right. Beaux Boudin is a unique and welcomed addition to the diverse food offerings of small restaurants in the Woodland West-UTA corridor. Beaux's Boudin blew our mind. The food was great; it comforted us in a way only food from home can. And the service was top tier; they welcomed us in and treated us like family. Tried this place today for the first time. Everything was pretty good! The only bad thing would be the chicken strip basket. The basket comes with 3 strips and fries. These were the smallest strips I've ever had, like maybe 2in. They taste like Dairy Queen. Just stay away from the $12 for 3 nuggets and frozen fry basket. I was excited to see this place opening and decided a rainy Saturday was a perfect time for takeout! I ordered over the phone and was told 10 minutes and food was ready as promised. The inside is primarily a pickup counter. I saw some stools where it looks like you could eat, but keep in mind this place is built for takeout. The place was immaculate and the kitchen looked clean. We ordered a spicy link, pepper jack balls, seafood gumbo, and beignets. Everything was excellent! The spicy link was a 6 on a scale of 1-10 in spicyness great texture and flavor. The food is absolutely delicious - I had seen a few comments from friends on facebook about the gumbo and finally got around to trying it myself and it does not disappoint. The jambalaya has a nice level of heat to it that is just right with excellent flavors. The location is spotlessly clean when you walk in and they had my online order ready and waiting for me upon arrival. The woman at the counter was friendly and prompt. Highly, highly recommend for anyone looking for a good gumbo. I will be returning. The only 'downside' is that the food was so good that I did not have leftovers after demolishing a full bowl of the jambalaya and gumbo plus a side of rice in one sitting.
