I'm from California and my friends know I love crawfish so they took me to Joe's. The seasoning & flavor was so good, I went back my last day in Texas. The price was very reasonable compared to Sacramento & I appreciate the buy 5 get 1 free deal. Like most others stated, they lacked in customer service. We had to ask for our water and waive the server to get her attention. The wall was a little dirty, so they can be a deterring factor for some to not like the place. The flavor seems "run down" or watery. we ordered non frozen but it seems like it was mixed with frozen? the texture was not consistent with the batch. Started coming here again since the pandemic has settled a bit, the crawfish are not big right now since it's barely beginning of the season. But the flavor here is on point. The definition of Viet-Cajun crawfish. I always order the Spicy Garlic-Butter Cajun. It always hits the spot. I think I've been here like 3-4x this month. I also love their soy milk. Their soy milk is made fresh, so it's good with ice and it's good hot as well. I first had the hit version in Vietnam and I've been searching far and wide for the original freshly made soy milk. So glad I was able to find it here! My bf likes the fried okras here and his favorite crawfish fried rice is here. The crawfish fried rice is nice and whole pieces not baby scraps. And the flavor is good. They also have really great banh canh which is an udon noodle soup dish. Great for winter time. I honestly think this is the best crawfish in all of aggtown. If you're getting bored of large chain places, this location is refreshing and has more emphasis on lemon pepper. There are tables for larger parties and cute booths on the side for close company. During crawfish season, I've had really great luck in getting fresh crawfish that is rather large. The snow crab and clams are usually solid as well. And uniquely, they also have some easy Vietnamese dishes on the menu (think fried rice or stir fried noodles). I keep trying to snag the soybean drink (made in house), but they're always sold out! Great she returned water very swiftly, but we literally had 30 seconds to look at the menu while she stares await to take our order. I appreciate the attentiveness but standing there doesn't help with very little time. As appetizer, we had the crawfish fried rice. It was more on the bland side and oily as well. We ordered the combo with dungeness crab, shrimp, crawfish, sausage, potato, and corn. We had half a pound of crawfish but seriously take a look at that picture. No way 6-7 crawfish is half a pound. On top of that the dungeness crab was cold and the meat wasn't sweet at all. You can honestly tell that the meat was not fresh. I had to ask them to heat it up. The shrimp on the other hand had a slight bitter taste. Only savior was the sausage and potato. I'm really not difficult or try to be when it comes to food, but when the food and service is subpar as this place, it's hard to turn a blind eye. On some occasion we feel like our crawfish is less than the weight we order. But today there was definitely a difference that we had to weigh it. First visit to Joe's Cajun was with a local...The restaurant was a bit chaotic while waiting for a table but when we finally got seated everyone at the table decided on a 1lb bag which I totally regret because I forgot crawfish are mostly shells so really should've order 2 lbs instead. It did take an extremely long time to prepare it was maybe a little more then 45 mins before we finally got food. Lucky for us my table mate ordered fries to start off. But it was worth the wait the crawfish were fresh and the shells were soft so it wasn't difficult to get to the claw meat even though they are tiny. The flavor was buttery,spicy and delicious very garlicky. The tail meat wasn't over done and mushy it still had bite. This snack set me back about 8.00+tax and tip. The second time...after learning my lesson that you always need more crawfish this time I ordered 2 lbs and corn...OMG corn best decision ever because it soaks up all the delicious goodness of the crawfish boil. This time my wait wasn't too long but it we also went in the late afternoon which isn't exactly peak hours. Overall Joe's Cajun gets the stars in my book because even if your waiting for the crawfish is actual pretty darn tasty. I do have to mention that corn,potatoes and sausage are all additional that do cost extra. Corn on the cob about .80 each boiled potatoes(3) are about $2.19. Went here with a pretty big group of friends on a Saturday evening and they were busy! The service was okay, they accommodated us well. But since there was a large group of us, the waiters got confused when some of the orders came out. Their crawfish is delicious but could be seasoned a little bit more. Also tried their shrimp and it was definitely delicious! I definitely recommend their shrimp! They also have many other seafood options from their menu. So if you're a seafood person, this place is a must try! One thing though is that they ran out of crawfish before their closing time, which was a bummer. Being a huge lover of seafood, I try to go to different places. I had been told about this place both good and bad. I read the reviews, but i was very disappointed when visiting on Thursday. The restaurant has a off putting smell, dispute that we still sat down to eat. The Restaurant was not busy, so the service started off good. We decided to do a crab boil with Shrimp, 1 Cluster of crab, sausage, 1 potato, 1 corn, we added mussels and another potato, we paid $50 including a sweet tea and paying for gloves, yes we had to pay for the gloves and ask for bibs. The food was very salty, we didn't get a bucket or plate so the boil got cold quickly. The mussels were not cleaned and when asking about the grit and hair-like clumps inside, we were told they do not do anything to them once they are delivered. Usually i give places another chance but we will not be going back. Before we left my husband wanted to let them know about our experience and this lady started arguing with him.
