    Menu for a wedding reception
    Bradly P.

Thanh Thanh is a Vietnamese restaurant specializing in wedding style venue party's and is great for large groups of friends and family offering an extensive list of entrees and dishes that are suitable for the whole group. Thanh Thanh is located in Arlington in a strip mall that has ample parking and is open 7 days a week extending into the late nighttime hours. We have been here multiple times due to its famous wedding reception venue in the metropolitan area offering good food and is able to fit large parties inside. Every time we have been here, we have received exemplary service from the staff and crew members. The staff follows strict sanitation guidelines ensuring hot food is hot and cold food is cold. Inside is clean and modern and well-lit with beautiful white tablecloths and huge lazy Susan's for the tables. They have a full-service bar with many different spirits and beverages to choose from. Some of my favorite dishes include the lobster, roasted duck, and crab and asparagus soup. All the food is plated in a fashionable manner and is delicately garnished to the consumer. We really enjoy dressing up and coming out for a night at Thanh Thanh where we know we will have a great meal with amazing service. Inside is spacious and clean while the dance floor in the parties is always jumping. The food variety is great while the flavors and food quality separate itself from the competitors while remaining still one of the best venues for a wedding reception in the area known for its food and service.

Service was very fast but there was something a little off about the food. It felt a bit Americanized. We were a bit disappointed to find out that the Cheese Lobster wasn't the traditional fried cheese lobster you usually find in this genre of restaurants but rather just melted cheese on top which turned into a greasy mess. Everything could use just a little more flavor.

While visiting another restaurant in the same strip, I smelled some heavenly fragrances and dipped in. On a Sunday it was almost empty which was great because I didn't have to wait long to order or get my goodies. I adore Vietnamese cuisine so I was super excited to see how this spot stood up to my previous experiences. I ordered 2 shrimp & pork fried spring rolls and a garlic butter sauce steak plate that the cashier suggested. Both delicious but this place is definitely upscale. Pricing reflects that lol I believe my order totaled $27 which was more than I planned on spending, however, the food was tasty. (No. 75) Steak was cooked perfectly, I could only eat half of the plate so it's filling. The rolls were okay, but slightly overcooked. I would give them another go.

Easy and big parking lot complex in this plaza area. Big and spacious restaurant that host like weddins. Came here a few times in the past, mainly because dad likes coming to this place for pho. Got the usual Pho Ga (chicken pho). Soup tasted pretty "sweet" in a good way of a chicken broth. Really digging this flavor. Not sure if it's because I haven't had chicken pho in a long time since being in AZ or what. Good amount of chicken breast white meat slice pieces, nice and tender. Combine with the usual cilantro, bean sprouts, jalapeño, basil, and lime. Really nice flavor. Not sure on price, as dad paid for it, but I would assume maybe around $9-10 given this restaurant setting. Server and service was quick, as it wasn't busy at this time. Was so full this time, as my dad game me almost all of his chicken and I took a big portion of his noodle as well. Off to the airport and back to AZ.

Portion of the seafood section. I went with #90.

This is not my first time here, but it is my first time writing a review for Thanh-Thanh (pronounced Tang-Tang). On previous visits, of which there have been many, as Thanh-Thahn is one of the more popular venues for Vietnamese wedding receptions and other large events. I've also dined in the restaurant before, as it's large and can accommodate large family gatherings. In the past, I've always thought the food to be in the A-OK (3 stars) category, and the service a bit below that. But the last two times I've eaten here, in the restaurant, I've been impressed. Service was definitely better, and the two items we had on this visit, very good. So our two dishes were: "Ca Xau Xao Lan" Alligator sautéed in curry sauce and coconut milk (peanut topped), and "Much Xao Xa Ot" Squid with lemon grass and chili. Both dishes very good. In fact they were good enough for me to want to come back and try the other seafood options, perhaps the "Cha Ca 'Thang Long' Hanoi fried fish with dill" or the "Ca Hap Hanh Gung" (Seasonal) Striped bass steamed with ginger sauce and shallots. There was a pho at the table too, and it was enjoyed. Bottom line: And to think at first I thought, "Not Thanh-Thanh again!" What a mistake.

$3 for that small plate of noodles that should have been included with my order. Everything in the pic cost $45 before tip.

Tables and decor is nice for VN restaurant. Food was OK. Service is OK. They have lost my business however. I hate restaurants that nickel and dime customers. I ordered 2 orders of Bo La Lot. Apparently, they do not give you rice noodles to eat with your entree. $3 for a small plate of noodles. This is not how you do business. I am probably not the only one not happy with this practice as I was there on a Friday night and the restaurant was basically empty. It's too bad, as it's one of the more esthetically nice VN restaurants in the area.

I had mot been here is several years only because I don't live close by. My loss. Went in for a late lunch and was given my choice of lunch or dinner menu. The lunch menu is quite impressive with great value but I knew what I wanted. Lotus root salad was a wonderful combo of fresh crunchy vegetables, thinly sliced pork, large shrimp, and citrusy dressing. Large shrimp chips were a tasty accompaniment. The crispy soft shell crab was perfectly seasoned and crunchy. Way too much food for one person so I have great leftovers in the fridge for later. This place is huge, clean, spacious, and my waitress could not have been more helpful.

This is the wedding restaurant! This restaurant has been part of the arlington community for a long time. I remember going here for a lot of weddings and special occasions. Often we will stop by for a bite, and recently I had a great experience. The food comes out FAST! We ordered Lau (hot pot), mussels, orange chicken and more. It was all really good, especially the clams! Come here for a taste of Vietnamese and Chinese cooking, you won't be disappointed.

If you want to dive face first into a tasty, comforting bowl of phở, look no further. I admit I haven't managed to eat all the way through this menu, but their beef phở (whether it's the rare steak, flank, tendon, fatty brisket, meatballs, or all the above) is so incredibly delicious, I just can't seem to move on--especially when it's cooler weather or my allergies are acting up or... Just whenever, okay? Seriously, the broth is fragrant and delicious and the side of jalapeños, Thai basil, bean sprouts, and onions are always fresh. I particularly enjoy it with a pot of jasmine tea. The waitstaff is always friendly and attentive no matter how busy it gets. I think it's much easier to walk around in the current location versus their previous one (that had lots of family style seating). It's hard for me to drive past Phở Pasteur without stopping for a bite. I definitely recommend it.

Years later, I am back to working in Arlington and recently finally made it to Ba Le. I know they are known for their sandwichies, and I dint know you could order them off the deli counter instead of ordering them from the sit-down restaurant. The first time i went, I ordered a sandwich and a noodle dish. The sandwich was the first thing that came out; it was hot, like right off the oven, hot! The sandwich had lots of pate, and the meat was well-seasoned but not as good at the one from Saigon Deli (that's my ride or die for Vietnamese sandwiches). Next time I go, I will try a different sandwich. During this visit, I had a noodle dish,h and it was good, nothing amazing (i think it was the lemon grass beef). Really good. I went and only had to wait maybe 5 minutes to be seated. They have an iPad to check in, and that's how they know the order to seat people. The service was fast since they are really busy every day. The restaurant was clean, and so were the bathrooms when I went. On my second visit, is when I tried the Pho, and I am hooked. I tried the combination pho and it was everything like the pictures show! When I tried the brooth I could tell they really go big on the spices that make up the broth, star anise, cloves, cardamom and everything else. I really enjoyed the broth, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I can see what all the hype is about, but for my pho i usually go to Pho 95. I did try the Vietnamese coffee, and even tho i asked for it to be extra sweet, it was not sweet enough. Since then, I been on a Vietnamese coffee kick and I can't stop haha. I need to start making my way to this restaurant more often.
