Decided to stop in for lunch with my coworker. Every table was taken which is very typical so we had a small wait. There were open tables outside but it was a little cold. Once seated we were quickly greeted and placed our orders. I went with a house vermicelli bowl and my coworker got the tofu vermicelli bowl. Both came out quick and had such a beautiful presentation. Their shaken beef plate is a hit or miss. The meal comes with steamed rice and salad. The shaken beef is in foil. I wonder if they weigh it. I asked for extra and was willing to pay extra. But the MGR told the waitress they already put enough meat on their plate. When I asked the waitress how much money for extra she said $15.00. That ridiculous!!! I order 3 plates for my family members. When we started to eat we all noticed it was extra salty today. They should make it the same way every time. This one got away from them. So disappointed. Spent close to $100. And to not get what you pay for. We also ordered 3 boba teas. Each one of them makes it different. To sweet or to bitter or boba is old and hard. It's been way too long. I was reading my old review of this spot and I said that I wasn't big on pho...? What? I honestly don't remember ever feeling that way. Anyway, the pho here is always an A+. Most are $12-$13 for regular size, otherwise $14 for a large. And it's so large. I usually get the regular chicken pho or the grilled beef, and both are always good, the broth never disappoints. We also like the edamame, spring rolls, and the simple house salad with sesame ginger dressing. Jon is apt to order the chicken egg rolls or crunchy spring rolls. Maybe fried rice. Don't forget the many boba options! This spot can get super busy so we probably order takeout or delivery more than we go in person, but I do like their space. This location was pretty busy during lunch, which we love to see for a small mom-and-pop shop! The prices are pretty reasonable based on the portion sizes of our dishes. However, it seems like they sometimes skimp on the protein portions (I know the cost of beef has increased but it's very limited on protein, heavy on noodles and vegetables!) Back when Sprout's first opened I was so skeptical, it was too modern, and I had more cons than pros to say about it. Fast forward to present day, it has really grown on me. I ordered the pho deluxe. The pho broth wasn't hot or as rich and fragrant as I would like, but it's light, clean, & satisfying. My favorite appetizer to order is the torpedo shrimp - maybe today was an off day because the shrimp was overcooked with very little cream cheese. The edamame is always a must! One of my moms favorites with the chili garlic sauce and also the agedashi tofu. And we also got the beef fried rice everyone enjoys. The prices are affordable compared to the trendier modernized pho restaurants except for the spring rolls that start at $6.99 for veggie spring rolls that come with two cut in half. The service was slow today and we were forgotten before we could even order - however, we wanted to show grace because it was the lunch rush, they were busy, our server was by herself and they also had pick up and to-go orders to fulfill. It's ok. I wish the pho was better, but it has some issues. I have been here a few times. Had the chicken pho today. The broth is not very flavorful, which makes me sad. The rice noodles were also chopped into tiny pieces which was unusual, not sure if that was on purpose, but if it was I wouldn't recommend it. Service is good, everyone is nice and very helpful. Prices are fine. Ambiance is ok. Chairs are a little cramped and not that comfortable, but they are fine for a quick sit down. All in all it's all about the broth. The vibe is chill and the menu is extensive so you'll definitely find something you'll love. I already knew the food was going to be amazing by the repeat takeout orders happening during the lunch time rush. Even with the rush, our order came out in a timely manner. 10/10 this is my go-to pho spot in Arlington. It's the cleanest, most flavorful, and well-prepared Vietnamese shop. I've had practically everything on the menu because I'm telling you I've been here I think for almost 10 years. It's wonderful. We have been ordering here for years! The last few times it has been horrible. The last two times we got home and our order was missing an entire meal. Today when we asked if the cashier could double check before we left, she told us we could check it ourselves. She pulled off the receipt and handed it to us as if we were a burden. Well yeah, they had Adam come in from Man vs Food to taker their gigantic 5 gallon pho challenge. (Episode 71). That is where I learned about sprouts. Also it helped that I drove past it on my way to UTA. I'm very glad I stopped in, well because it's fantastic. Sprout's was an OK pho experience for me. We wanted to cure our hangover so we decided to check this spot out. The location is pretty small but seats plenty. We got sat and I ordered the beef pho regular. The price was extremely reasonable being only $10.50 for a bowl of pho. One thing I love about pho is that it does not take long for the food to come out, so we were able to get our food pretty quickly. The pho here is on the cleaner side, which wasn't a big deal though I prefer the more oily/greasy broth. One thing disappointing was the lack of meat in the soup compared to other pho places. But besides that it is okay -- not the best pho joint but still does the job with its soup. I will return if I am trying to get pho in the Arlington area. read more
